“You wanted to retire, didn’t you? I guess you can do that now. Please explain each and every routine of Roselet to Ethlyn so that she can look after Roselet in your absence in the same way you do. And after giving her training for a week or more if required, you can finally retire.”
“Okay, Calvin.” Nelina agreed.
Just like yesterday, Ethlyn went to drop Roselet school with Nelina. “Yes, she is my mommy. Meet my mommy. Yes, I, too, have a mommy now.” Roselet introduced Ethlyn to the remaining pups to whom she couldn’t introduce yesterday.
Once she went inside the school after the bell rang, Nelina spoke, “She is so happy to have you in her life.”
“I missed a lot of things of her life. I think the feelings are mutual.” Ethlyn said, looking in the direction in which Roselet disappeared. “I want to know each and every little thing about her from the beginning to now.”
“Don’t worry. You will get a lot of time to do so because I’m taking retirement, and you will get a chance to do all the things that you missed all these years.”
“Retirement?” Ethlyn was shocked to learn that.
“Yes. I told Calvin a couple of times before, and finally, he said that I could retire after guiding me to all the routines of Rose. I know as a mother, you don’t need any training, but….”
“Nelina!! Nelina!!” Ethlyn quickly stopped her in the middle. “I won’t lie, but I know nothing about the mother role” She quickly cleared her misconception. “I became a mother for the first time with Rose and her brother and had no experience with pups. All I can do is basic things because I have a younger sister. Other than that, my knowledge is ZERO.”
“Please tell me you’re joking.” Nelina laughed in tension, but when she saw Ethlyn with a serious face. She realized that Ethlyn was telling the truth. “Do you know how to tie someone else hair?” She asked, recalling Roselet’s demands of different hairstyles on a daily basis, to which Ethlyn shook her head.
“Do you know how to change a pup’s clothes?”
“No. But how hard could it be?” Ethlyn mumbled. “They have to enter their head in round or V shape neck of t-shirt and top. And hands in the sleeves.” She replied, thinking it was so easy.
“Ahh!! I think you will realize that on your own when you will have to make Roselet wear anything except dresses and frocks.” Nelina responded. “Umm… the most important one. Do you know cooking?”
Ethlyn “…..”
“Oh no!! Rose told Calvin that you will cook a special dinner for her and him.” Nelina said, dropping a bomb on Ethlyn.
“What? But I don’t know how to cook.” Ethlyn confessed in tension. “Now, what will I do? Moon Goddess, what will she think of me? Her daddy knows everything, while I don’t know anything.”
“You will have to help me, Nelina. You will have to tell them that what are the things that they like so that I will be ready with the recipe in advance.”
“Sure. By the way, don’t mind me asking, what did you use to do in your free time when you were growing up? I mean, most of the females learn doing households in those periods.”
“I had a dream back then, and I was busy fulfilling it,” Ethlyn said. “But unfortunately, I met with an accident, and I couldn’t complete it.”
“What dream?”
“Nothing special. That was the story of my past. For now, I want to spend all my time with Rose.” Ethlyn said, brushing away the topic.
“Every dream is special, Ethlyn. It’s fine to keep your pup as priorities but don’t forget your own individual identity while doing so.” Nelina said, not forcing her to tell her about her dreams. “Come on, let’s go before Rose drops a bomb on you after coming from the school.”

By the time they returned to the penthouse, the floor had already been completed. Ethlyn saw Calvin leaving his room in a three-piece suit, unlike a boxer and t-shirt.
“Don’t forget about your dinner, Calvin.” Nelina reminded him before leaving.
“I won’t.” He replied, to which Nelina gave him a surprised look. “I mean, I will try not to forget.” Saying this, he left from there.
“I don’t understand. Why does he wear these types of clothes in the pack?” Ethlyn asked, recalling the man in the suit yesterday, but something was off about him.
“He is going to the office today, which is in the human world. He is the CEO of Haysbert Studios.” Nelina said before asking, “You don’t know anything about him, do you?” Hearing this question, Ethlyn shook her head.
“Do you want to know?” She asked next, to which Ethlyn nodded her head. She didn’t want to keep a wrong assumption about Calvin without knowing anything about him. She couldn’t forget the words that he had said to her father. A part of her was angry that he was insulting and misbehaving with her father, but her heart fluttered hearing those words.
She could never have thought that he had those amazing thoughts about mate and mate bonds. She remembered how he was ready to kill her mother because she made Roselet cry and also insulted her publicly. Calvin knew that Roselet shouldn’t have hidden the ring, and she was positive that he might have scolded her or asked her later the reason for doing but not once he said a word to her publicly. This was one of the signs of good parenting.
