Chapter 224: Wasted Chance

The night was getting late, Arabella couldn't sleep.

She kept tossing on her bed.

Her mind was thinking of the party earlier and Bill's dreadful expression.

She wanted to see Bill.

She wanted Bill to be beside her.

She wanted to talk to her to know what was inside his mind at the very moment.

Her mind was preoccupied with the man who was inside the study room for 5 hrs. now.

It was not the usual. He was always on the bed at this late hour.

Ever since she lived with him, Bill never spent more than 2 hrs. in his study room.

Meanwhile, Bill was looking at the evidence that was sent by his special investigator.

It took him a long time to playback the video several times and reviewed some data pointing to her wife

when someone knocked on his door.

Arabella heaved a deep sigh when no one answered.

The light was still on inside the room so she wondered if Bill had gone asleep while working.

"Bill, can I come in?" Arabella sounded holding the doorknob but she didn't get any response.

Bill showed up looked at her and imprisoned her with his embrace.

Thinking about his thoughts, Arabella hugged him.

Bill let her lay on his shoulder.

"Are you alright?" Arabella could not help but ask.

"With you, I am." He plainly answered as he kissed her forehead.

Arabella held Bill's hand and interlocked their fingers as she closed her eyes.

"Goodnight. I love you." She muttered amidst the silence and coldness.

The romantic plan that they had earlier was gone.

Bill's interest in her seemed disrupted by his loss on the project.

It was their new routine in the morning.

As a new VP, she was always present in every internal meeting but she was there just to listen.

Arabella knew all these but she didn't care at all.

"Lira, how's your boss?" Arabella asked Lira on the phone.

Tonight, she was going to deliver dinner to Bill.

"Ms. J, sorry but I'm already out of the office. When I left, Mr. Sky was still there but I'm not sure if he

was still there now. Should I call him for you?" Lira asked politely.

Her boss had released her early.

"It's fine Lira. Have a good night." Arabella quickly refuted as she didn't want to disturb Lira after office

hours.

Employees had also personal lives to handle.

Overworking would break the work and life balance.

She was sure at this time, Bill was still in his office so she packed everything she needed to bring.

He entered the room wearing his pajamas.

He wanted to see his dad as their schedule in the house didn't meet.

These past few days, Adam had no chance to see his dad after school.

Whenever he sent a message, 'I miss you and I love you dad' Bill would normally reply late and it was

always short and plain.

Thinking of seeing his dad tonight, Adam giggled. "I'm excited!"

His excitement was clearly written all over his face.

"Then let's go!" Arabella answered messing up Adam's soft hair.

Wearing only his pajamas, Adam held her mom's hand and they left the house.

relax, you will see your father now," Arabella added seeing Adam was overwhelmed with excitement.

When they almost reached the room, Adam went ahead wiggling his cute chubby butt.

Surprisingly, Bill's door was opened.

He walked excitedly. His eyes wandered inside his dad's room. He was looking for his father.

father made him so angry.

"Adam," Seein the little boy's sudden appearance, Bill sounded as he pushed the naked girl above him.

Adam was shocked by the scene.

He was so angry seeing his father with another woman.

He gave a chance to his father even he knew his mother was against it.

He wanted to experience having a father that even he set aside the feeling of his mother.

For Adam, he just had to try.

In his little mind, he's the only one who could fix his parents even though he knew he had hurt his mom.

As their son, he decided to give his father a chance for the sake of his family.

"Fight with me!" Adam ordered roughly.

The sweet little boy had nowhere to be found as he was determined to hurt his father.

" You promised me to love my mom and you will never hurt her again but you lied. You are a liar! Leave

us alone! You will hurt me first before you can hurt my mom again!" Adam stood bravely for her mom.

Then he quickly grabbed his mom's hand and dragged her to the elevator but Bill was quick to snatch

Arabella's other arm.

"Honey, please." Bill could only say.

Arabella harshly snatched back her arm. With sharp eyes glued on him, Arabella strode closer to him.

Their eyes met.

Her sweet innocent eyes burned and a scorching fire appeared while Bill's eyes were explaining.

Arabella released a sweet smile.

She strode closer to him then in the next second, a resounding crack sound echoed in the hall.

With all her strength, she slapped Bill.
