CHAPTER 462
Chapter 462
“Sherilyn.”
“Yeah?”
Out of the blue, Gilbert interrupted her, taking hold of her hand.
Sherilyn turned, surprised, to look at him.
He was already looking her way, grinning from ear to ear, showcasing his pearly whites, “Let’s get hitched.”
Sherilyn was gobsmacked. Her mind went completely blank!
It was like a bolt from the blue!
“You… what?” Sherilyn blinked, her lashes fluttering, “What did you say?”
“Didn’t catch that?” Gilbert eyed her, leaning in until their foreheads touched, “I said, let’s get married. Sherilyn, let’s tie the knot, eh? How about it?”
Sherilyn’s mouth slightly agape, was at a loss for words!
She had thought, sneaking off to see Edgar, might tick him off! But never in a million years did she expect this!
“Aren’t you barking up the wrong
tree?”
Finally regaining her composure, Sherilyn chuckled and shook her head, “Shouldn’t you be grilling me about why I went to see Edgar?” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“You heard me right. And I didn’t ask the wrong question.”
Gilbert held onto her hand, resigning himself, “You and Edgar, were torn apart, you can’t get him out of your head- I get it!”
Sherilyn was taken aback. Is that what he thought?
Moreover, what she couldn’t wrap her head around was, if he thought as much, why would he still want to marry her?
“Gilbert, is marriage a joke to you?”
Suddenly, she remembered their first go–around.
To him, wasn’t marriage just a child’s play?
“Sherilyn.” Gilbert lifted his hand, cupping her cheeks. “Let’s get married, I want to marry you. Let’s make it work, it’s okay if you don’t like me now, after we’re married, you can shift your feelings from Edgar to me, how about it? Sherilyn, let me be your husband!”
Suddenly wrapping his arms around her, pulling Sherilyn into his embrace.

Chapter 462
“Sherilyn, don’t leave me! I want to be your husband, to live with you forever! Let’s tie the knot, shall we?”
“Gilbert…”
Sherilyn felt suffocated, held tightly in his embrace.
A sense of fear creeping in, she pushed him, “Stop it, can you just calm down, please?”
“I am calm.”
Gilbert slightly loosened his grip, “Where do you think I’m not calm?”
“You…”
Sherilyn rubbed her forehead, feeling helpless.
Gathering her thoughts, “Let me put it this way… let me ask you… do you love me?”
Gilbert fell silent all of a sudden.
“Heh.”
Sherilyn chuckled softly, stepping out of his embrace. “Marriage is a pact made by two people in love, planning to spend their lives together. You can’t even answer this, yet you talk of marriage?”
She spread her hands, adding, “We’ve already made this mistake once, why repeat it?”
Gilbert frowned, silent.
“Don’t worry.”
Sherilyn thought, he had come to his senses. “Let’s pretend I never heard what you said, and I won’t take it to heart.”
She looked at him, signaling him to drive. “Shall we head to my dance studio first, then you can head to your office?”
“Sherilyn…”
But Gilbert suddenly grabbed her wrist, with the confusion of a child seeking answers, his eyes full of questions.
“What does it mean, to love you?”
He furrowed his brow slightly, as if asking her and at the same time, musing to himself, “I treat you well, give you the best of everything–food, clothes, essentials, I fulfill all your desires, does that not count as love? It does, doesn’t it?”
