“Mr. Haysbert, we have caught them near the traffic signal, and right now, we are taking them to the police station.” The cops informed Calvin. “We have found your wife with them, but they are saying that she is their friend and is demanding the reason why we have stopped them.”

“We’re behind you. By the way, what is my wife saying about everything? Are they really her friend?”

“She is unconscious. We tried to wake her up, but she wasn’t waking up. These people are saying that their friend fell unconscious all of a sudden, and that’s why they were taking her to the hospital. Any delay may cause death to their friend.”

The cop who had called Calvin disconnected the call and walked out of the car. He gave a smile to Calvin and opened the backseat of his car. “Mr. Haysbert, here she is.” He said, pointing toward sleeping Ethlyn. Calvin reached near her quickly and sensed the presence of wolfsbane in her blood. He knew that this could have happened when he was planning to use her bait, but Keanu was growling at him in anger.

“Where are they?” He asked and went to the other car behind the first one. He memorized the face of two men sitting in the second car and then two women. He could see anger and hatred in their eyes for him. Well, his feelings for them were no different after all; they were born enemies.

“I want them behind bars in charge of kidnapping my wife,” Calvin said and took a deep breath. “And make sure to cake their van who know they might drug in the car.” He added and watched them glaring at him. Both Calvin and those hunters knew that wolfsbane was a type of drug in the human world, so they might have to spend a lot of time behind bars if someone would save them. They were silent because they knew that anything that they would do or would say couldn’t be used against them.

So, the silence was the best answer.

“Let me know if they do anything in their favor. That includes even a call to their family members or any lawyer.” Calvin spoke in a low tone, walking near the officer in charge.

“What if they are really your wife’s friend?” The officer asked.

“You will know about it tomorrow when she will be awake,” Calvin said. “For tonight, make sure that they shouldn’t be released at any cost. I will be accompanying you to the police station and file an FIR against them.” Cavin said in determination.

“Okay, Mr. Haysbert.”

“Thank you so much,” Calvin said before reaching near Ethlyn and picking her in his arm, and taking her in his car. Lemieux was already ready with the antidote of the wolfsbane. Calvin grabbed it from him and injected Ethlyn without wasting a single second.

“Your wolf likes her, doesn’t he, Alpha?” Lemieux asked when he observed Calvin getting worried for Ethlyn.

“Hmm. He likes her.” Calvin admitted, caressing her face.

“Boss, both your daughter, got arrested.” A man informed the leader of the hunter.

“What? What did they do?” The leader asked in shock because he had a good image in the human world, and so did his children.

“That dog filed an FIR against them for kidnapping his wife. And the wolf that killed your son is his wife. This is what he said to everyone.”

“Who told those stupid girls to use their minds? I had already planned to trap that dog. He had left a meeting in the middle, and I was going to ask him to come to my house for dinner with his whole family. And then I would have ended the chapter of all his family that night, but these girls spoiled everything.” The leader hissed in anger.

“So, what now, Boss?”

“Let them stay behind bars. I can’t risk revealing my identity to Calvin Haysbert openly. He is from a powerful family. We can attack him only by staying in the dark. That’s the reason I stay close to him all these years because it is said to keep your friends close and enemies closer.”

“Now the water is going above our head. I have to invite him for dinner sooner.” The leader said with a smirk.

“Ouch!! Ouuchh!!” Calvin didn’t block the two punches at his face before grabbing the wrist of the attacker for the third time. “Why the hell are you hitting at my handsome face? Do you even know how important this is to me? Huh,” He asked, jerking Ethlyn’s hand away, who was fuming in anger for using her as bait.

Well, to be honest, she wasn’t mad at him for using her as bait. Since this whole hunter issue started because of her so she would have helped him in the best way possible, but what she didn’t like was that Calvin didn’t share his plan with her.

“Why didn’t you tell me that what were you planning all this? “Ethlyn asked in anger.

“Why should I tell you anything about my plan? Are you my girlfriend? Are you my mate?”
