“Madam Sonia, Isabel is our only child. If something happens to her, how can I go on living!”
The door to the VIP ward was left half open. Sonia was sitting on the couch, her face full of worry. “Anderson has indeed behaved

Isabel woke up groggily and heard the voices nearby. She clutched her chest as she felt uncomfortable. She began shedding tears. On the bedside table lay a ring. It was the wedding ring he had personally

Isabel propped herself up on the bed while suppressing her
discomfort. She pushed aside the covers and sat up. “Madam Sonia…
Hearing the commotion behind her, Sonia turned and saw the weak isabel in her hospital gown. “Child, why are you getting up?”
Alicia hurried forward. “Stop fooling around and go back to rest.”
Isabel shook her head. “I’m fine, Mom.”
“I heard everything you said just now. Madam Sonia, I’m sorry. The decision to send the annulment letter was mine, and Mom had no say
in it.
“Madam Sonia, I’m sorry. I’m useless. Marriage is between two
people, and I couldn’t make Anderson stay loyal to me. Since that’s the case, I’m willing to let him go. I’m sorry for making you worry and come to the hospital to visit me.”
Seeing her so understanding and mature, Sonia felt even more
heartache. “Child, this isn’t your fault… Don’t worry. The Barlow family will give you an explanation.”
“Madam Sonia, I really don’t want to force him. It doesn’t matter

When Isabel handed the ring to Sonia, it seemed like she had made a

Mayra had the oatmeal that Caroline brought. She looked at the gift bag placed in front of her while lost in thought.
Having finished the oatmeal, she asked, “Is Isa hospitalized?”
Caroline replied, “Ms. Fisher had an asthma attack and has been hospitalized for several days. She barely made it through. Now, even
Madam Sonia can’t reach Mr. Anderson…”
Was Isabel’s asthma that severe? Mayra had just finished a bowl of oatmeal. “I’m full now. Will the rest of the oatmeal be discarded if it
isn’t finished? Can it be reheated for next time?”

Caroline chuckled. “No one will blame you for not finishing it, and it’s better to leave leftovers than upset your stomach.”

As soon as she finished speaking, someone knocked on the door.
In the corridor, Shane walked out of the elevator and saw the scene outside one of the wards Without watching any further, he left and went into another ward.

Caroline and Mayra looked toward the door.
Caroline called out, “Mr. Gorman?”
Shane nodded as a greeting.
