Painful seduction

Chase left afterwards and Ryan could only mutter a thank you to her. She smiled at him and gestured to him to follow her to the car, he obeyed.

” Why didn’t you tell me about it?” She asked as she turned the ignition key .

” It was risky informing you what I do for a living. I couldn’t risk your life.” He answered plainly.

” You had to borrow money from a drug merchant, what’s more risky than that?” She asked not wanting his points to be valid.

” The Chester’s family are known to be bold and fearless.” He answered in defense.

” Don’t preach to me now, Ryan.”

” Where are we going?” He asked.

” To the Chester’s mansion, I need to talk to everyone.”

” The house was the only property I was left with, I could risk my life for it .” Ryan explained .

Cathy could only smile at his words, the feeling of having a brother was one of the best feelings she had felt in a while.

She brought out her phone and dialed a number with one hand trying to focus on keeping her eyes on the road and her phone at the same time.

” Call Mr. Kim.” She instructed.

” Hello, Mr. Kim. It’s Cathy. Are you by any means free, I would want you to come to Chester’s house.”

He must have responded with a yes because Cathy smiled all through the journey, she found Ryan lost in thought.

” What are you thinking about?”

” It’s Rhea and Cindy. Rhea hates Cindy so much, poor Rhea, she could sacrifice her life for her.”

” Cindy has lots of issues on her mind.”

Her phone rang, it was the hospital.

She had totally forgotten about going there.

” Hello, Doctor.” She answered.

Ryan watched, something was off. The smile that had been on Cathy’s face was no longer there. The phone dropped from her hands, he was scared she wasn’t watching her driving. He had to help her as the car came to a halt.

” What’s going on with you?” He asked, worried. Goosebumps filled her skin and she was gasping for breath.

” Axl is dead…he couldn’t make it.”

Ryan knew who Axl was but he didn’t understand what had led to his death. The whole place was silent. Cathy wasn’t even crying at all.

” Do you want to go to the hospital to see him one last time?”

” I’m not sure, I want to be with Rhea. Don’t want her to hurt herself. Dementrio died because he was trying to save all of us.”

” Let’s check on Rhea first and we can all go to the hospital.”

He took the steering wheel this time, knowing Cathy was in no condition to drive. She would lose focus anytime since she was overthinking. They got to the hospital and found Only Nelly and Cindy.

” Where is Rhea?” She asked in fear.

” She’s sleeping, she cried herself to sleep.” Cindy answered.

” I want to see her.”

She moved forward and found Rhea sleeping peacefully, she wished Rhea would always be this peaceful .

” I have something to announce.”

All of them looked at her,

” I don’t think it’s any good fighting. Axl is dead, the doctor called.”

She allowed her words to settle Into their hearts. She was not surprised when there was no outburst, they must have accepted anything that happened.

” Rhea will stay with us, I owe that to Demetrio. I’m really not sure she would want to stay with Cindy and I can’t leave her alone.” She announced.

Before she could say another word, the doctor sent for her. It was for Rhea.

” Where’s her husband?” He asked.

” He’s dead. That’s why she is like this.”She explained.

” If you want the baby to be safe then you have to make sure you keep her away from stress.”

” I will do that doctor, I promise.”

She left afterwards to meet Nelly,

” I have called Mr. Kim. He will share the properties. I don’t want any more trouble and fighting.”

“Will you give Cindy a share?”

” She’s still my twin sister but I can’t forget what she did. It will surely take a long time to heal.” Cathy answered.

” It’s fine…I trust your decisions are right. We can now live together peacefully without fights among ourselves.” Nelly responded.

” We would bury all four the same day, Damien is from a reputable family we can’t ignore that because of the crime he committed.”

From her tone, Nelly knew Cathy wanted to get alone and she understood her reasons. She left her to herself as she went to see Rhea. Cindy walked towards Cathy.

” Can you ever forgive me?”

” I’m not certain, I’m sure things might change in the future.”

Cathy really had such hatred fir Cindy, sleeping with her husband was one if the most unforgivable crime. She couldn’t over look it, she can forgive her for trying to get the properties to Damien because she was naive and had no idea who she was but she couldn’t forget Cindy’s boldness to sleep with her husband just to get the properties was something she could never get over. Rhea might blame her for Dementrio’s death and forgive her after a while but she could swear to the heavens that she didn’t want to see Cindy ever. She wished they weren’t related.

” I really had no idea, no idea Axl was your husband. I would never want to do that.” Cindy pleaded.

” I cried Cindy, my own twin sister could betray me so much. Why do you hurt everyone you love for your personal gain?”

” I will never hurt them intentionally.”

” Please leave me , Cindy.”

Cindy left, meeting Ryan on the way who hugged her tightly. She was glad Ryan could understand her pain although she knew after some time when he found out the truth things might have changed between them but she just wanted to enjoy the moment .
