Chapter 14 Bottom Line

“Thank you, Ms. Molly. However, Jade has already asked for my help. She has a customer coming

later.” Lily smiled and said as she looked confident.

Perhaps Molly didn’t expect she would be rejected and her face looked angry.

“I am sorry, Ms. Molly. The customer will get angry.”

Suddenly, Molly showed a sullen face. She murmured ‘Bitch was always bitchy’ and walked away. I

wanted to fight back but Lily pulled me while shaking her head and told me to forget about it. Out of

curiosity, I asked Lily why didn’t she go as it was such a good opportunity?

She smiled and wrapped her arms around my arm, “Ms. Cox, what kind of person she is. I would rather

not earn that kind of money.”

“You are silly!”

I knew that they hated Molly.

It was almost time and the guests would be here soon so I went into a room in the lounge and called

the special nurse in the hospital to ask about Dan’s condition. He had already slept and it seemed that

he was in a good form. He would be transferred to a regular ward after a few days.

The special nurse’s words made me feel excited and my eyes almost became teary again.

I took a long time to calm myself before I went back to the lounge. Yet, Mr. Jones’s voice sounded on

the walkie-talkie, “Barbara, are you busy now? Come here if you are not busy.”

“I am not busy yet. I am coming now!”

I briefed a few words to the girls and went upstairs to the office hurriedly. Toby Jones didn’t like noise

so his office was the only quiet place in the club.

waiting for him to answer. He was drinking tea while sitting on the sofa. He waved at me and poured a

cup of tea for me warmly.

“Barbara, come and have a sit.”

“Mr. Jones, what can I do for you?”

“Haha, nothing. I just want to chat with you. Molly and you are the pillars of my club. It has been a long

time since I had chatted with you.”

“Mr. Jones, please tell me if you have something to say. Please stop making fun of me.”

I slightly knew about Toby’s personality. This club was invested by his wife and him. Besides loving

money, he also loved to gamble. However, he didn’t simply make any friends so he was still considered

a normal person.

He was not a busybody but there must be something if he asked someone to meet alone.

He nodded while laughing and stopped beating around the bush after hearing my words. He held the

teacup and drank the tea for a long time. He said, “Barbara, you and Kenneth Quinn…”

“I am not his girlfriend. However, the matter that happened yesterday was too sudden. I had no choice

but to use him as an excuse.”

“Mr. Jones, why are you asking about him?”

“Barbara, you must not be angry about what I am going to say. If you are not willing to do this then

forget about it and ignore what I have said.” He had me mentally prepared first. Could it be something

I nodded with doubts and waited for him to continue speaking. However, he thought about it for a long

time and said, “Barbara, Jordon called me and told me that he wants you to accompany him. You could

request anything.”
