My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2072

Chapter 2072

After I heard this, I glanced at the document in my hand and gave a slight nod. Pursing my lips, I asked, "So, I'm now the wealthiest person in the world?"

It didn't especially make me happy. After all, I didn't care much for money right now. I much preferred the opportunity to accompany my children as they grow up and to grow old with Hendrix.

"You could say that," Hendrix uttered calmly.

"Wow!" I looked at him and smiled with a feigned look of surprise before placing the documents back on the table. I then said, "I have now experienced the feeling of being the wealthiest person in the entire world. Ok, where's the document you need me to sign to reverse this? Take it out. You don't need to tell me about any of this next time. You're still in charge."

The transfer of shares was to keep Jennifer at bay, and right now, since everything was already settled, Hendrix was probably letting me go through these documents before I would sign another one that would return the shares to him. Only then would he be eligible to sign off on some other important documents.

He did this out of respect for our relationship, but then he had always been confident in his business affairs. Everything that was happening right then seemed to be very unnecessary.

Hendrix, however, shrugged and played dumb. "What document are you talking about?"

Being rendered speechless, I wanted to see what kind of trick he had up his sleeves. "The document where I would then transfer the shares back under your name. Do you want me to remain as the richest person in the world?"

Hendrix's smile widened. "Can't I?"

Subconsciously shrinking back, I grew very suspicious of him, "Hendrix, this isn't funny."

For young women who had never experienced the harshness of society, Hendrix's "gift" might please them to the point of ecstasy, but I wouldn't be fooled.

If I were to take over a listed company with such a huge capital, I would not be able to sleep well for the rest of my life. Hendrix wanted to dump all of this responsibility onto me!NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

Hendrix's breathing grew heavier. He reached out and pushed the document back to me. Staring at me with his dark, solemn eyes, he said, "This is a wedding gift." "What?" A wedding gift?

Laughing, I said, "But we've been together for a long time now. We've been married for so many years. Why the wedding gifts now? You've already given me a wedding gift. There's no reason to give another one Mr. Roberts, even if you don't want to meddle in company affairs anymore, you should find a more decent solution, don't you think?"

Hendrix breathed out a long sigh. He leaned back against his chair and stretched. Closing his eyes for a moment, he muttered, "I can't hide anything from you."

As the saying goes, a married man would spoil his partner as he would a child. In my opinion, Hendrix was the complete opposite, he didn't want to spoil, but he wanted to be spoiled.

I shook my head and chuckled, urging him to get down to business, "Let's not talk about this anymore. Get Evan to prepare the documents as soon as possible and sign them so that we can go home. We can't leave our guests waiting."

The family who wanted to adopt Neal was waiting to meet us at our home. They were our guests and it would be very inappropriate to keep them waiting. That was not the way to entertain guests.

Then, some shocking words came out of Hendrix's mouth.

"Marry me."

The very air froze for a split second, I thought I had heard wrong. I brushed my messy hair behind my ear and asked, "What did you just say?"

As his eyes shot open, Hendrix sat up straight. He placed both hands on the table and raised his right hand to rap on the document on the table. He then said, "Since you're not willing to accept a wedding gift, this will serve as my dowry. We'll officially get married again."

I looked into his deep and determined eyes, unsure of what to say.

Hendrix remained calm as he reasoned, "There are 197 countries in the world and about 600 media companies nationwide. The cost of advertising during prime time is about 40 million dollars a day. The budget of 300 million dollars will go to the Roberts Group..."
