Chapter 1033: You're the Only One Who Can Save Jo
Listening to Zane's words, Yanis looked up at him, "He won't leave us, right?"
Zane nodded, leaning down to kiss her forehead gently. "Nothing will happen, I promise."
Yanis was also nervous deep down, afraid that she might not be able to keep this hard-won child.
Phoebe quickly completed the hospitalization procedures.
"Sis, I'm sorry. If it wasn't for me, things wouldn't have turned out like this," Phoebe regretted herself
upon hearing the doctor's words.
She blamed herself for starting the argument with Lisa, which led Jo to come and help his mother,
Yanis to intervene, and the subsequent events.
Phoebe was well aware of Yanis and Zane's struggles because of the two previous children, and Yanis
had never been pregnant before. Now that she finally had a child, Phoebe feared that something might ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
go wrong, leaving Yanis in distress for the rest of her life.
Yanis looked at Phoebe and shook her head gently, "It's not your fault; don't blame yourself."
She then asked about Rachel's condition, "How is your mom? I noticed that the fall she took was quite
severe."
Phoebe realized that she hadn't checked on Rachel yet, and she was at a loss. "I... haven't seen her
yet."
Even Phoebe forgot to ask whether Rachel had come to the hospital or not.
Yanis spoke softly, "Go check on her quickly; I'll be fine here."
Phoebe nodded and turned to Zane, "Bro, you take care of Yanis. I'll go check on my mom."
Zane agreed, "I'll come over later."
"Don't worry about it. Stay here and look after my sister-in-law. My dad is with my mom," Phoebe said
softly.
Zane didn't say much to Phoebe and reminded her, "Don't mention the pregnancy to them for now. If
they ask, just say everything is fine."
Phoebe nodded, "Got it."
After Phoebe left, the hospital room was left with only Yanis and Zane.
Zane's eyes were fixed intently on Yanis's abdomen, his anticipation and excitement evident in his
expression.
Just as Zane was about to say something, the door suddenly burst open with a strong push.
Both Yanis and Zane were startled by the abrupt intrusion and turned their gaze to the door.
Lisa rushed in, appearing frantic.
Upon seeing Lisa enter, Zane's expression instantly turned cold. Yanis noticed Zane's change and
tugged at his hand while calling out softly, "Zane."
Zane glanced at Yanis's face before turning to look at Lisa, his tone unfriendly. "What are you doing
here?"
Lisa's face showed a mix of panic and remorse. She grabbed Zane's arm and tearfully pleaded, "Zane,
please, save Jo!"
Her emotions seemed genuine.
Zane pulled his hand out of Lisa's grasp. "What do you mean?"
With tearful eyes, Lisa recounted the situation truthfully to Zane.
"I messed up. I made the wrong choices back then just to support Jo. But now, I don't want to do it
anymore. I want to live a good life with Jo..."
After hearing Lisa's explanation, Yanis and Zane remained silent.
Lisa had investigated Zane's and the Lawrence family's history upon returning to Manches City,
learning much about Yanis and Zane.
Seeing Zane's silence, Lisa turned to look at Yanis, who frowned slightly. Instead of immediately
responding to Lisa, Yanis looked at Zane, who stood by the bedside.
Zane and Yanis exchanged glances before Zane asked Lisa, "Have you talked to Uncle Dylan about
this?"
Lisa shook her head, "You're the only one who can save Jo."
Lisa knew very well that in Manches City, only Zane had the capability to rescue Jo from those people.
Even Dylan couldn't do it.
