Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen

Chapter 238

Blake had done his research on his little sister's past long ago.

After the passing of the Howard family, his little sister was taken in by her foster mother Sarah and lived with the Ableson family.

The treatment she received from the Ablesons was far from ideal. If it had been simply because she was not their biological daughter, and they didn't show her the same affection, Blake could understand. But what the Ablesons did was beyond comprehension.

As Blake reviewed the evidence, he was so enraged that he almost crumpled the documents in his hands.

The Apex Synergy Group was just a small company, and Blake could bankrupt it with a snap of his fingers. He was even ready to do so. But it was Egbert who stopped him.

"She has her own plans," Egbert had said. That's when Blake learned that his little sister had been secretly saving money, investing her earnings in scattered stocks around Apex Synergy Group. She was seeking revenge in her own way!

The Lopez kids were all tough as nails.

In the end, Blake suppressed his urge to act and decided to let his sister handle this herself.

But today, the words Ableson spoke in front of him had thoroughly infuriated him.

Egbert, with his inconspicuous mask, was waiting in the hallway when Blake ran into him.novelbin

"How long have you been here?" Blake asked with a stern face.

"I've been here the whole time," Egbert answered, leaning against the wall.

Blake was taken aback.

"I didn't want her to know I was following her again, so I avoided you," Egbert added after a moment of silence.

Blake didn't know how to respond to him after hearing his pitiful tone.

"Where's Ableson?" asked Egbert.

"I don't know!" Blake replied coldly.

"I hope he hasn't left," Egbert said quietly.

"Scumbags like him, the further they roll away the better!" Blake retorted, his brows furrowed.

Egbert looked at Blake and suddenly said, "The people from A&T Group are almost here."

Inside the lounge, Ableson was fuming, his face almost distorted with anger, clenching a towel in his hands.

Zack, who had walked beside him, clicked his tongue, "Instead of doing something useful, you decided to serve up a woman to Mr. Blake! Do you know how close Mr. Blake and his wife are?"

Ableson gritted his teeth in anger, "What do you know! He clearly showed interest in my daughter! He's just angry because I exposed him in public! He wants to play the saint while indulging his lust. Let's see if he still acts the saint if I stripped her and put her on his bed!"

Zack was taken aback, "Wait, she's your daughter?"

"Just a foster daughter," Ableson dismissed.

Zack felt a wave of disgust, "Still, she's your daughter, you're... quite something."

Ignoring Zack's mockery, Ableson was more concerned about Apex Synergy Group nearing bankruptcy.

Then, his phone rang.

He answered it irritably, and his secretary's voice came from the other end. After listening for a while, Ableson was taken aback.

"What did you say? The A&T Group wants to collaborate with Apex Synergy Group on a financial bidding project?" he exclaimed.

"Yes, that's right. They've even sent over the latest bid. President Lopez, they also requested a face-to-face meeting with you. And they want it now!" the secretary explained.

"Now?" Ableson was trembling with excitement, "Send the bid over now!"

Soon, Ableson received the document from his secretary.

Zack, who had been about to leave, decided to stay a bit longer after hearing Ableson's reaction. "What's going on, President Lopez?"

Ableson was extremely excited. He gave Zack, who had been of no help and only added insult to injury, a smug look before saying, "Despite a minor setback with A&T Group's land development project, causing us to lose some money, they've given financial bidding project to us. The projected profit from the land development project was 200 million, but this financial bidding project could yield up to 600 million!"

Zack gasped, "That's impossible! Apex Synergy Group isn't a financial company! You don't have the talent for it! How could they collaborate with you?"

Ableson arrogantly replied, "Zack, I don't have time to chat with you now. I have to rush to the A&T Group. Their management wants to meet with me..." Before he could finish his sentence, Ableson noticed two men entering the banquet hall.

He quickly realized why A&T wanted to meet him right away. They were also attending the banquet! Ableson hurriedly approached them with a sycophantic smile, "Mr. William! Mr. Mark!"

As Blake exited the hall, he saw Ableson talking fervently with two men. He recognized them as William and Mark from A&T Group. Seeing Blake, William and Mark approached him to shake hands.

After shaking their hands, Blake glanced at Ableson.

Ableson hated Blake but dared not say anything. In the face of absolute power, he didn't even have the privilege to challenge Blake.

The two men from A&T Group looked proud. William turned to Blake, saying, "I heard that the Lopez Group was also vying for this financial bid."

Blake glanced at them, saying nonchalantly, "Just a mere project for us."

William, undeterred by Blake's dismissive attitude, jovially continued, "Funny thing is, we have to thank the Apex Synergy Group's President Lopez for landing this deal."

Ableson, upon hearing his name, broke into a wide grin, "Oh, you flatter me too much."

William paused, then addressed Ableson, "I meant, thanks to Apex Synergy Group's President Lopez."

Ableson quickly waved off the compliment, "Really, it's too much."

Mark whispered to William, "He's also a Lopez."

William finally caught on, and chuckled, "So, you're also from the Lopez family. Is Apex Synergy Group's President Lopez around? There are some project details that it would be better for both management teams to discuss face-to-face."

Taken aback, Ableson stammered, "I... I am Apex Synergy Group's President Lopez."

William furrowed his brow, and Mark, checking his phone, interjected, "The name is Eileen Lopez, a lady. Ms. Lopez should be the majority shareholder of Apex Synergy Group, according to the data. She holds a twenty-six percent stake in the company, the largest single shareholder."

Ableson was stunned, his face a blank slate, "Whom... whom did you say?"

"They're talking about me." From behind the crowd, a clear feminine voice rang out.

All heads turned to see a tall, slender lady dressed in a black evening gown, looking like an ethereal sprite walking in the night. She stepped forward gracefully in her elegant high heels.

She stopped in front of William and Mark, giving them a radiant smile.

Then, she briefly introduces herself, "I am Eileen Lopez. Nice to meet you both."
