Damian’s Obsession

His eyes were filled with admiration when I fried the first set accurately.

“See, it isn’t that hard like you make it seem.” I said as I placed it on a plate and gave him to taste.

He smiled in admiration when he tasted it.

“How’s it???” I asked.

“Delicious. Where do you learn how to do it?” He asked.

“The internet.” I answered.

“Okay.” He said as her kept munching hungrily on the pancake, making me smile.

“What made you just wake up and decide to cook even if you don’t know how to cook?” I asked as I flipped the pancake I was frying.

“I wanted it to be an early morning surprise for you.” He answered.

“Why??” I asked in surprise as I placed the fried pancake on a plate before turning off the cooker.

“Don’t tell me you have forgotten.” He said.

“Forgotten what??:” I asked in confusion.

He gave me a ‘are you serious?’ look when he saw my confused expression.

“Today’s your birthday.”

My birthday??? How come I didn’t remember??

“You seriously don’t recall today being your birthday?” Damian asked in surprise.

“I must have been caught up with all that has been happening lately. Wait how did you know that today’s my birthday?” I asked.

“Have you forgotten that I once told you that I know everything about you?” He asked giving me a smug look.

I had already forgotten that he did a background check on me.

“So what will you do now that you’ve ruined the surprise you planned??” I asked referring to the burnt pancakes.

“I never said that I prepared just one surprise. Eat up and go dress. Put on something casual.” He said.

“Why??” I asked in confusion.

“I’m taking you on an outing.” He answered.

“To where?” I asked again.

“It’s a surprise.” He answered as he took the last bit of his pancake and dropped the plate on the sink.

“Is it a date?” I asked again, hopefully.

He stared at me for a while, I was starting to regret asking him that dumb question. Then he smiled at me.

“Yes princess. It is a date.” He answered.

My heart leapt in joy. Words couldn’t describe my happiness but I didn’t allow it show. I just put on a small smile to cover up my joyous feelings.

“Thank you for the food. I enjoyed it.” He said as he placed an unexpected peck on my lips.

I lost my breath for a minute. What the hell!!!!! He always catches me unaware every single time.

“Don’t keep me waiting for long.” He said before exiting the kitchen.

Leaving me feeling very flustered. When I finally managed to compose myself, I ate my pancake before heading into the room.

I walked into the closet and opened the wardrobe.

“Something casual ……” I muttered as scanned through the outfits.

I smiled when I spotted a blue jean and a white long-sleeved top.

“Perfect.” I said as I brought them out and put them on.

I put on a white sneaker to match before I combed my long blond hair. I allowed it cascade down my back.

I left the closet and picked up my phone that was lying idly on the bed before I left the room. On my way to Damian’s office, I saw Grey.

His eyers met with mine and he gave me that look again. That same look of disdain and it infuriated me.

He was about to leave when I held him back by the hem of his sleeve. He quickly snatched his cloth from my hold and was about to leave when I asked;

“What’s your problem with me?”

“Are you asking because you are not really aware or you just want to hear it from my mouth?” He asked finally turning to face me.

“I don’t know why you’re behaving like this. If it’s because of Roman, I already begged Damian and he ……” “It’s funny that you think I’d be upset because of Roman.” He said with a light chuckle.

I could tell he didn’t even find my words funny. More like annoying.

“Why are you angry then?” I asked.

“It’s all your fault.” He said.

My fault?? What the hell did I do this time? I wanted to asked but he beat me to it.

“You are influencing Damian’s authority and that makes him seem weak.” He said.

“How did I ever do that??” I was clearly confused by what he was saying.

“Weren’t you the one that pleaded with Damian to release Roman?” He asked.

“Isn’t that what you wanted in the first place?” I asked back.

“If you weren’t here, Roman wouldn’t even have the audacity to go against Damian. You don’t know anything that goes on in here but you keep butting in. you are just like Ana. You’re a gold……”

“Grey!!!!” Damian called angrily, cutting off Grey’s rants.

Grey was shocked when he noticed Damian’s presence. He shook in fear like he had said something he wasn’t supposed to.

How long has he been here? Did he hear all we were saying??

“Is this where you are supposed to be??” He asked.

“No boss.” Grey said in fear before he left quickly.

I turned to stare at Damian whose face looked red like he wanted to murder someone. I had the urge to ask him about Ana but I held myself back because he wasn’t in a good mood.

I’ll just ask him later. He was silent like he was thinking deeply about something.

“Are you ready?” I asked when the silence was getting unbearable.

“Uhm… yes. Let’s go.” He said as he left while I trailed closely behind him.

“Where are we??” I asked when we got down from the car.

I looked around but we were just surrounded by trees. It seems like we were in a forest.

“Just follow my lead.” He said as he covered my eyes and led the way.

“Here we are.” He said as he removed his hands from my eyes.

A wow left my mouth when I took in the view of my surroundings. Beautiful was too little to describe where I was. It looked like heaven on earth.

It was a garden with beautiful varieties of flowers. There was even a waterfall and a very beautiful and clear lake.

“What’s this place?” I asked in admiration.

“Just a secret place I always come to clear my mind. Beautiful isn’t it?” He asked with a smile.

I nodded my head. I turned to see him smiling happily. Thank God that his earlier bad mood had changed into a good one.

Suddenly, he started taking off his clothes.

“What are you doing?” I asked as I covered my eyes.

“I want to swim. You should come to.” He said before I heard a splash. he had jumped into the lake.

I opened my eyes slowly and saw him swimming.

“Aren’t you coming?” He asked.

“Nah.. I’m good here.” I answered.

“Just so you know, you’re missing a lot.” He said but I said noting and just watched him swim.

“I planned this whole day for you but you’re just being a party pooper.” He said when he noticed I was being adamant about not swimming.

“I can’t swim.” I said.

“Don’t worry. I’m here to hold you from drowning.” He said.

“But …..”

I sighed in defeat before pulling off my clothes, leaving only my underwear on. I took slow steps into the lake until the water was above my stomach. I started to panic but luckily, Damian quickly led me on my waist.

“See there’s nothing to worry about.” He said when he noticed that I was calm.

“Yeah.” I muttered as I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the water splashing on my body.

We were floating silently in the water until I heard Damian ask;

“Would you like to go to Paris with me?”

I quickly opened my eyes and stared at him in shock.

“What????”
