Chapter 828
A flash of ruthlessness crossed Ivy's eyes. Since she had brought Nina here, she wouldn't let her leave alive.
However, less than half an hour after the man left, someone knocked on her door.
"Come in."
After she coldly spoke these words, a tall man entered, carrying a bowl of chicken soup.
"Miss Ivy, this is from the Pharaoh. He specifically instructed me to bring it to you to help you recover."
"Leave it there. I'll drink it after I change." Ivy barely glanced at him before turning her back.
Ever since she arrived here, chicken soup had been served to her regularly, but she was sick of it.
The man placed the soup on the desk as instructed. "Miss Ivy, the Pharaoh ordered me to ensure you drink it."
Ivy didn't respond immediately, but after changing clothes, she walked to the desk and picked up the bowl. The soup had a strong aroma of chicken and herbs. Holding her breath, she drank it all. She turned to the man, "Can't you be flexible? Do you really have to watch me drink it every time? Am I not fine?"
The man's voice was cold, "Miss Ivy, I follow the Pharaoh's orders."
Ivy was rendered speechless. She waved her hand, "Fine, you can leave now."
She had endured much worse before. A bit of chicken soup was nothing.
"Yes, Miss Ivy."
The man bowed and left the room. Ivy tied her hair back into a low ponytail, put on a veil, and left the room as well. She intended to check on Nina but was intercepted by the same man.
"Miss Ivy, the Pharaoh instructed that you need to rest and should not be wandering around."
Hearing this, Ivy was furious.
Restricting her movements was
effectively limiting her freedom net
Although seething inside, she
couldn't show it.
Turning back angrily, she secretly sent a text to Wes, "Keep an eye on Nina and send me a video of her."
Being confined was tolerable since she still had Wes. A video from him would be as good as seeing Nina herself. "Got it," Wes replied quickly, easing Ivy's frustration.
Back with Nina.
After the girl had calmed down, Nina tried to engage her, "Are you feeling a bit better now?"
The girl nodded, her throat dry, "I lost my composure earlier. I'm sorry."
Living here was worse than death.
Every attempt to die only led to harsher punishments. She couldn't die, but living was unbearable. During moments of extreme
suffering, she wanted to survive and escape this hell, but she was
powerless.
Caught between life and death, she was in constant torment. Yet, she realized Nina was different.
When Nina came in, she wasn't
immediately beaten up like the
others. She even dared to stand up
to Mrs. Quintana. And just now, she was applying medicine to her
wounds.
Medicine was a rare commodity in this slave camp. All this time, injuries were something she had to endure on her own.
The fact that Nina could get medicine showed she was no ordinary person. And Mrs. Quintana didn't target her again.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
"It's nothing. Can you tell me more about this place? It seems like everyone here is female?"
