Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 441 Please Leave

Chapter 441 Please Leave

"I know. You take care of yourself. I'll hang up, bye-bye."

"Bye."

Jean ended the phone call, looked at her phone's screen and breathed heavily.

"Jean, don't worry. Zed will handle it very well." Moore had heard their entire conversation and knew

what had happened. Seeing Jean tense, he tried to comfort her.

"No, Moore, you don't know how horrible Joy is. She is a devilish character. I was oppressed by her all

my life and never in that time, was I able to find a chance to fight back. Now that Shirley is in jail and

she can't visit, she must be hating my guts." Jean uttered it in one breath.

"Why do you say that? After all it was Shirley's own mistake. Joy favors her, but she can't blame it all

on you. She should have some conscience." Moore comforted her.

"How can I explain this to you? If Joy was reasonable and had some conscience, she wouldn't have

treated me as a servant for twenty years," Jean explained, with a painful smile.

"Zed said that he would handle it well. You should believe him. Don't overthink it, alright?" Moore was

stunned but had tried to hide his surprise from Jean. Although he knew that Jean had had a hard life

before she married Zed, he had never imagined Jean being treated as a servant.

'The Wen family is so cruel and cold-blooded.'

As they headed to the sea, Jean looked absent-minded and lost all vigor.

Noticing Jean slow her pace, Moore who was following her, suddenly covered his chest, pretending to Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

be in pain.

"What happened?" Jean turned around as she heard Moore cry out in pain.

"I am not feeling well in my chest..." Moore breathed hard and suggested,"Shall we go back?"

"You should go to the hospital if you are not feeling well..." Jean was worried. She held Moore by the

arm and patted his back as they begun walking back. "Hold on. I'll get you to the hospital..."

"Jean..." Moore suddenly stopped in his tracks and gratefully said,"Jean, I'm glad that you care for me.

My chest stings because a nerve throbs right where the wound is recovering. It's alright. I just need to

go back and rest."

Jean was puzzled and looked at Moore's calm face. After a moment, she understood something. She

stopped supporting him by the arm and raged against him. "Moore, do you think this is funny? Are you

happy playing such a trick on me?"

"No, I don't." Looking awkward, Moore started explaining it to Jean. "I saw that you were worried about

Zed being able to handle it and then, it occurred to me that perhaps, we should go back and help him.

No matter how powerful Joy is, she can't overpower the three of us."

"You..." Jean was very much aware of Moore's intentions, but the way he confronted her in an

unabashed fashion amused her.

There was no denying the fact that Moore had seen through her and found such a lame yet caring

reason to plot their return.

But, he didn't know how scared she was when he pretended to have an ache in the chest.

"Okay, this is it then. Let's go back," Moore said, heading to the parking lot.

Jean was unwilling, but she had to follow him.

Since Moore had sensed her worries, they called the day off.

'I will take him out next time.

There are plenty of chances, aren't there?'

Jean felt better on reasoning with herself. In fact, she looked quite relieved.

She punished Moore for pranking her by keeping silent and ignoring him the whole way.

The awkward silence grew in the car. Moore fidgeted with his nose and forced a smile to fill in the

discomfort.

He had lied to Jean, out of well-meaning intentions.

He now knew that he couldn't do this anymore, otherwise he would be the one to suffer.

It felt awful to be ignored by Jean.

They went back to the Qi family, keeping silent all the way. From the distance, they saw Joy standing at

the gate, holding her head high, towards a tall handsome figure.

From the back, Jean instantly recognized Zed.

It looked that he had just gotten back home as his car was parked right beside him.

Jean's car entered from the gate, but Zed didn't move. He stood in front of Joy, staring at her coldly and

asked,"What are you doing here? The Qi family doesn't welcome you. Please leave!"

Joy's face changed instantly.

"Mr. Qi, you can't be so ruthless. I am Jean's step mother. Besides, I am an elderly person. You should

pay some respect." Joy retrieved her smile, pretending to look kind.

"You?" Zed looked at Joy and gave her a cold laugh. "I am sorry, but there is no such word as 'respect'

in my dictionary,"

Zed said in arrogance.

Seeing that there was no use pretending, in a flash, Joy's face darkened as she said in an angry

tone,"Zed, I give you all due respect. Don't make it hard for me. I'm telling you. I'm here to find Jean. I

know it's your place and you want me to leave. No matter what you do to me, as long as I can walk, I'll

come here. I won't stop until I see Jean."

Joy looked into Zed with firm, cold eyes.

Zed furrowed his brows and his anger mounted. "You dare to threaten me?"

"I'm just a woman. How can I dare to threaten the famous Mr. Qi?" Joy laughed coldly.

"Why do you look for Jean? I'm warning you. It's no use threatening me, and it's impossible for you to

see Jean. Shirley has only herself to blame. As a mother, you share half the responsibility for her sinful

acts. Don't blame it on Jean. Joy, if you also want to be in jail, I don't mind sending you there to give

Shirley company."

Zed warned her with a cold stare. Nobody ever dares to threaten him.

Joy looked down for a minute as she thought over the words that were on the tip of her tongue. Finally,

she said,"I'm here to see Jean, not to blame her, but to thank her for helping find the murderer of my

son Winner. If I meet him in heaven, my heart will finally find some peace."

Joy's words surprised everyone.

After a while, Jean put on a cold smile and said to Toby,"Please drive the car there."

"What are you doing?" Moore asked surprisingly.

"Do you believe her words? Do you actually believe that she came here to thank me?" Jean retorted,

watching Moore for a reaction.

"No, I don't." Moore instantly shook his head.
