Chapter 1245
Chapter 1245
"What are you guys doing? Where are you headed?"
Blake stepped forward, his tone softening. "Sir, we might need to step out for a bit, but don't worry, we won't be causing any trouble.'
But the security guard wasn't having it. With the situation being so dire and all orders to stay put, he was getting irritated. "I've said that no one's allowed out. Don't you understand the seriousness of the situation? Go back where you came from, no one's going out."
Rosalie started to panic when she heard this. "Sir, we really do have an emergency. My family member is infected at home and can't take care of themselves, and I-"
"Go back. I said no one's allowed out. Your relative's infected, huh? And if you get infected and come back, what then? You'll spread it to the whole neighborhood. Have you thought about the consequences?'
The security guard had a point, but Rosalie couldn't afford to hesitate. 'Sir, I swear that if I get infected, I won't come back. Don't worry."
"How do I know you won't come back?"
Rosalie was getting desperate. "You know what I look like. If I come back infected, just don't let me in."
The security guard thought for a moment, then shook his head. "That's not going to work. How would I know if you're infected or not?"
Seeing their discussion was getting nowhere, Blake stepped in, pulling Rosalie aside. "It looks like the guard isn't budging. We might not be able to go out."
Rosalie was growing increasingly anxious. "This won't do. Time's ticking, and I must go back."
Blake observed her pacing back and forth, feeling uneasy. Suddenly, an idea struck him. "How about we just climb over the back wall of the neighborhood?"
Rosalie was taken aback. "Climb the wall?"Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
"Yeah, since we can't leave through the front gate, we'll have to climb over the back wall."
Rosalie hesitated. "But I don't know how to climb a wall."
"It's okay if you can't climb. I got this." Blake smirked.
Leading Rosalie to a low section of the back wall, Blake effortlessly scaled it, then reached out to grab their luggage, motioning for her to toss it over.
Following his lead, Rosalie passed over each piece of luggage. Eventually, she found herself alone on their side of the wall.
Attempting to climb using the protruding stones, Rosalie's limbs soon felt weak. "I can't do it. I'm scared."
"Don't worry, I'm here to catch you. Keep climbing," Blake reassured her.
Reluctantly, Rosalie continued upward. Finally, she sat on top of the wall, feeling overwhelmed by its towering height.
"Just jump, and I'll catch you," Blake encouraged, extending his hand.
"I can't. I'm really scared...' Rosalie responded, feeling the chilly autumn wind against her skin. Suddenly, a voice interrupted from behind. "Hey, what are you two doing?!"
