Chapter 253
Lemira couldn't help but find it amusing when she saw the photo.
She glanced at the watermark - it was from the school's online forum. Curious, Lemira logged onto the forum and sure enough, there was a post about her.
"Freshman pretends to hate the rich but secretly hooks up with wealthy older men and doesn't come home at night!"
Tsk, Lemira scanned the content. It claimed she looked down on the wealthy Business School kids ostensibly but was cozying up to rich folks in bars, throwing herself at them, and then not returning home at night! One comment wrote, adding fuel to the fire, "I went to high school with Lemira, and she's always been like this. But because of her good grades, the teachers let it slide. I can't believe she's still at it in college." "Yeah, I heard she was messing around with the school doctor in high school. Now that she's at Orvin, surrounded by even richer people, she's obviously ditched the school doctor for some wealthy old guys."
"I saw with my own eyes Lemira getting out of some old guy's car this morning. The guy was so old and ugly, but it seems she'd do anything for money!"
Reading those comments, Lemira could guess who these so-called high school classmates might be. This had Evelina's fingerprints all over it.
So, slandering people online seemed fun to them, while finding these trolls wouldn't be too hard for her!
With a bang, the door slammed open. Lemira looked up to see Susanna and Evelina, flanked by a few of their male lackeys.
The students fell silent as the Business School crew walked in, fearing they might get targeted by those rich people. Ordinary folks simply couldn't mess with them!
When Susanna saw Lemira, she gritted her teeth sinisterly, "Lemira, quite the hider, aren't you? Didn't expect you to slip away last night."
After Orion had left the previous evening, Susanna had tried to find Lemira. But by then, Lemira had vanished, and even Susanna's bodyguards were nowhere to be found. Susanna later learned her bodyguards had been taken a good beating by Orion for bothering him while looking for Lemira, and all of them had been sent away.
Her family had gotten wind of this, and her father had scolded her that morning.
Susanna seethed with fury, and as spotting Lemira, she could barely control her urge to eliminate her.
Lemira, resting one hand on the
desk, was the picture of calm, "I didn't like your party last night, so I left early. Were you planning on restricting my freedom? That's illegal, you know?"
"So what if it's illegal? The law's not going to side with a nobody like you!" Susanna was arrogant, used to getting her way from a young age.
Evelina interjected Susanna, "Lemira, you've got Ms. Sinclair all wrong. We were just worried about you leaving early. We heard you didn't come home last night. Where were you, exactly?"
"What's it related to you about where I went?"
Susanna scoffed, "Heard you got out of some old man's car today. Thought you looked down on us rich folks? Seems like you spread your legs fast when you see money." "Well, not as fast as your mouth runs!" Lemira's comeback was just as sharp, leaving no room for a comeback.
Susanna was momentarily stunned, likely not expecting such a bold retort from Lemira. Angered and embarrassed, Susanna raised her hand to strike, "You slut!" But Lemira caught Susanna's hand effortlessly, "Who are you calling a slut?"This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Lemira's eyes were intimidating, her aura aggressive. Evelina quickly stepped in to pull Lemira's hand away, somewhat scared by Lemira's fierce demeanor, something she hadn't seen before.
Feeling humiliated, Susanna turned to her lackeys, "What are you waiting for? Drag Lemira out of the class. I need to have a word with her."
