Chapter 67 So Boring
Things could change unpredictably. Later on, they did get married, but Elijah didn’t like her at all.
Now, this marriage that was barely hanging on truly disappointed the beautiful expectations of the two
grandmothers back then.
At this moment, Jacob knocked on the door and walked in.
“Cordelia, I’m really sorry. I’ve talked to Lamia, and she won’t reveal what happened today. You can
rest assured,” Jacob said, understanding Cordelia’s predicament.
Cordelia nodded. After learning more about their childhood connections, her attitude toward Jacob had
softened slightly.
After leaving Mireya’s room, she finally completed her mission. Cordelia prepared to get changed and
leave.
However, Lamia suddenly rushed up to her, speaking in a hushed voice, “Cordelia, I’m really sorry. I
misunderstood you earlier.”
Cordelia was quite surprised. She looked at Lamia, who had always been arrogant. Then she replied
coolly, “When I saw you carlier, you looked like you wanted to hit me.”
Lamia felt guilty. “They said that Jacob was your sugar daddy,
so I thought…”
Cordelia suddenly burst into laughter. Lamia was so stupid that she didn’t even know what to say.
“What’s wrong with you? Why do you believe that Jacob is my sugar daddy? I’m married! Do you think
he’s that creepy?”
Lamia suddenly realized. “That’s right. Jacob doesn’t even like me, so how could he be interested in
you?”
Cordelia rolled her eyes at Lamia. “Even if I were in need of a sugar daddy, I’d choose your brother to
support me. He’s handsome, wealthy, has a good reputation, and is generous in all aspects. He could
satisfy me in every way…”
Suddenly, she heard a low chuckle from a man, causing Cordelia
to freeze in her tracks.
“It seems like you have a very high opinion of me.”
Elijah’s low voice suddenly sounded, but it seemed to come from
Lamia.
Cordelia’s eyes widened instantly. “Lamia, are you on the phone with your brother?”
Lamia grinned, “Yeah. It was my brother who asked me to explain things to you. He said he wanted me
to apologize to you in person.”
Cordelia’s face turned pale.
Lamia was truly a troublemaker.
Cordelia twitched her mouth, barely managing to maintain her composure. She said sternly, “Hang it up
now!”
“Oh, okay.”
When Cordelia changed her clothes and left the Taylor Manor, Elijah’s car was waiting at the door.
The back door opened from the inside, and he gestured for her to get in. “Come on.”
Cordelia pursed her lips, recalling that this man used to say the same thing every night when they were
in bed. His tone and words were exactly the same.
Lately, she had indeed been indulging in her desires excessively, which was affecting even her,
someone who had always been dignified, causing her mind to be filled with inappropriate thoughts.
She climbed into the car, closed the door, and sat down. Then, Elijah pulled her into his arms and
kissed her lips.
“I missed you, Babe,” the man’s voice was husky, like a whispered endearment between lovers.
Cordelia couldn’t catch her breath, and her heart raced as she
clutched the leather seat beneath her.
After a while, the man had enough of tasting her, so he slowly pulled away from her lips. “I didn’t expect
my wife to be so talented.” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Cordelia pouted. “I’m flattered.”
Elijah pinched her nose, his tone indulgent. “You’re so smart, so why were you so boring back then?”
So… boring?
Cordelia’s beautiful eyes widened in astonishment.
