Chapter 146

Veronica didn't know whether to laugh or cry because when she looked at the CCTV monitor of the

road leading to the Baelforce ground, she saw a black luxurious car being surrounded by her men.

Actually, being surrounded is a rather calm way to explain it because actually, Rawlf's car is

surrounded by her men holding heavy weapons.

'You're a dead meat without me.' Veronica thought.

It's good that she instead tasked Zero to fetch Rawlf inside. In a while, she saw that the men

surrounding Rawlf's car seemed to loosen seeing their Sir Zero calmly approaching the car.

She saw Zero knocked on the car and he moved to get inside the passenger seat.

'He must have a driver with him. Probably Secretary Ryan.' Veronica thought. She went out of the

monitor room seeing that the car started to move to enter Baelforce grounds.

The car however stopped on the big gate and came out Rawlf. The men who were still observing

him felt the sudden change in the atmosphere as soon as the man's feet landed on the ground.

They among themselves realized that the man should be someone outstanding, exuding a very

powerful aura enough to even intimidate them without the man doing anything yet.

Zero followed and seeing him, the men allowed Rawlf's entrance and finally they reached

Baelforce ground. Baelforce Headquarter looks like a compound of buildings.

The area used to be an extended family compound but the said family moved out of the country

and put the compound for sale.

Rawlf followed Zero and later, they boarded an elevator and went to the third floor.

Soon, Zero led him to a well furnished wooden door. Zero knocked and soon opened it for Rawlf

before bowing towards and finally walking ahead to give the couple their privacy.

Veronica was already seated on her antique chair facing the door and her smiling face greeted

Rawlf.

"You're so brave coming here and not informing me."

She stood to approached the man that just entered her office. He pulled his hand and ushered her

to the nearby sofa.

"Can't let you sleep alone."

Rawlf chuckled before picking up Veronica and putting her above his lap. Veronica moved to make

her sitting position much comfortable before hugging Rawlf's neck.

"Thank you for thinking of me, President Sy."

Rawlf didn't reply but she kissed Veronica on her right shoulder, despite the clothes that separate

The couple stayed like that enjoying the warmth they could get from one another for some minutes

before Veronica spoke,

"We should call our children now."

It has been the habit of the couple to video call the twins every night, early morning in County R,

and every morning, around their bedtime in Country R.

During the morning, even if Rawlf and her weren't together, they would still simultaneously call the

twins to have their family conversation and to check on them.

"Mammeh! Daddeh!" Baelfair instantly greeted seeing both parents on the screen.

She's still wearing her pastel pink pajamas with floral prints. Her hair is slightly messy yet the

couple could see how adorable and milky she looks.

"Morning baby! How's your sleep?"

"Okay. Sad becosh (because) you and Daddeh wewent (weren't) heh (here) with us!" "Daddy and

Mommy will come pick you both soon."

Veronica spoke to Baelfair some more before turning to Baelfire who just uttered a rather calm,

"Good morning Mother, Father."

"Baelfire, how are you darling? Did you miss dad and mom?" "Beyfey (Baelfair) did mammeh,

daddeh!" Baelfair butt in.

Veronica chuckled while Rawlf just shook his head with amusement to their very enthusiastic little

girl.

Baelfire nodded as a reply and just smiled seeing how their parents became happy because of his

lively twin.

Seeing him in his usual "not so fun" attitude yet wearing his cute pastel blue pajama with mini

Totoro and friends printed all over, Veronica's heart jumped strongly.

'How cute.' She thought.

Rawlf then joined their conversation and soon, the family of four once again enjoyed their quality

time, even if it's only through a video call.

The video call lasted for an hour before the couple decided to end it as the children should start

their day as well.

"Bye babies. Remember what mommy and daddy told you okay? Be good kids to your grandmas

and grandpas."

Veronica dotingly said.

Rawlf let Veronica speak but his soft eyes sent the kids his message. Seeing that the kids nodded

their heads, Rawlf the end the video call.

"Ah, I miss them so much." Veronica heaved a sigh.

"We both do." Rawlf pulled her back on his lap and rubbed her back to sooth her. "Don't worry,

we'll see them soon."

"Did you add some more of your men around the castle?"

"They are safely under my men's protection, don't worry." Rawlf rather replied differently.

Veronica heaved another sigh, obviously worried. Rawlf however didn't say much since he knew

no matter how strongly protected his children by his men, as a mother, to worry about them couldn't be

taken away from Veronica.

The only best thing he could do is to really prove himself worthy and able to protect the children

and their family back in Country R.

In fact, Rawlf is very confident since those who were sent to protect them were his special forces

gathered together, watching and observing the people and surroundings around the twins carefully.

He already sent the recording from Alex to Uncle Bien and he hasn't told this yet to Veronica. He's

supposed to and he has the urge of no longer telling her since it will make her worry more, however,

Rawlf also thought that she deserves to know every detail regarding this children's safety.

He, of all people, wanted her to be honest with him much if it concerns the safety of those they

both treasure the most and Rawlf realized he must reciprocate the same honesty and sincerity.
