Irene was floored by the generosity. She kept calling Lorraine, urging her to return from the orchards right away

Lorraine hugged Finnegan as well. She made sure to give equal affection to both children even though she had a particular soft spot for her sweet–talking daughter.
Logan walked over and smiled. “Luna looked really upset when she didn’t see you. I had to tell her you were in the truck to make her smile again.”
It pained him that he had raised these children since birth but they were already so attached to Lorraine after just a few days with her.
