Chapter 31 The Surgical Failed

On one side it was the comfort of a good friend and on the other side was the deep affection of Collin. It

was so stifling that she felt difficulty in breathing. What can she say that can enable Collin to forget

about her dirty body? Mia bit on the lips and stared into the mirror, deep in her thoughts.

A slender figure waited quietly at the door and looked at the woman who was staring at herself in the

mirror. He clenched his teeth as he said, “You are really something. Not long after you sold yourself you

managed to become the girlfriend of a rich kid? You are moving up the clientele ladder!”

When she spun around, Mia’s body almost slumped onto the ground. The hellish voice already made

her body reject it. Mia looked coldly at William in disbelief, bit down on her lips, and finally found her

voice, “Mister Brown, I think these are my personal matters and none of your business.”

What right did he have to question her? They had already broken all contacts and never to be involved

in each other’s lives. She felt justified when she thought about this. She steeled herself land turned

towards him, “Excuse me, Mister Brown.”

“Shameless!” William suddenly raged. He grabbed her hand and tossed her. His yell reverberated

loudly within the small restroom and hurt the ears. Mia fell onto the cement edge of the washbasin. Her

back throbbed in pain as if it was broken in two. Her body slumped onto the floor.

Once the sharp pain eased and she regained her strength, she lifted her pale face and blood drained

lips, “What the hell are you doing, Mister Brown? Are you going back on your words? I see that Collin

respects you wholeheartedly. What will he think if he finds out that you are such a petty man?”

“Are you threatening me?” The tall and overbearing figure with darkness towered over her head. He

lifted her by her collar and Collin’s jacket slid off onto the floor. William looked at her chillingly and

threateningly like daggers shooting from his eyes.

She strained her neck and at this moment he was as scary as the devil.

“You want so much to be his girlfriend? What if he finds out that you’ve slept with me and had a

transaction, will he still want you?”

Why does it have to be like that? Mia closed her eyes helplessly. She didn’t want to be involved with

Collin but if the news of her past were to leak out, she would have difficulty living with it. She couldn’t

bear with the thought of others looking at her as a prostitute.

Her eyebrow twitched several times before she softly begged, “Please don’t, I beg you…”

“Oh? You are so concerned about this relationship?” William didn’t hold back and wanted to hurt her

absolutely. He thought about her cries and struggles when she was with him and now with Collin, she

was all tender and gentle. He can’t help but rage. He didn't know that this was jealousy and he just

shouted, “I need to do the society a service by getting rid of a scheming slut like you!”

She was a parasite? Was this what he thought of her all this while and why he was so cruel towards

her? Mia’s heart sank and her small hands twisted his sleeve, “You can kill me … but you can’t slander

me.”

“Kill you? That’s too simple!” He violently flung her down, William grabbed a bunch of her hair. What’s

wrong with him? She no longer was involved with him. She could be with anyone she chose. Why was

he so angry?

“Damn you!” He shouted violently at Mia who looked on in fear. He simply didn’t want her to have a

peaceful life and said, “Mia, I’m going to tell Collin that you are a shameless woman. You are a woman

who can be bought with money. Of course, I won’t forget to tell him how enchanting it was to fuck you!”

Slap! A huge feeling came over her and she forgot her fear of him and swung with all her might and

landed a slap across his face. All this happened in a flash.

The slap left an imprint of the hand onto the face. Blood drained from Mia’s face and she looked at her

hand in disbelief. William winced in pain as the slap practically deformed his face. He smirked and said,

“How dare you hit me!” His voice thundered of anger and rage. His face displayed a burning rage and

cruelly declared, “Now, immediately I will let him know your filth!”

Her body moved forward and she was helpless about it. The huge hands clenched down on her body

and she writhed painfully and helplessly like a leaf destroyed by the autumn wind.

She doesn’t dare to think about what will happen next. She bit down so hard that she began to taste

the thick blood. Tears of despair started to flow.

A cell phone started to ring. William took out his cell phone as he lifted her up. He yelled after accepting

the call, “What? Sophia fainted?!”

Mia’s body drifted down like a leaf falling from the tree. Her entire body was shivering. William had

already left in big strides but traces of his violence lingered on.

When will this nightmare come to an end?

“Mia, what happened to you?!” Brooke screamed in shock as she ran over and looked at Mia who had

collapsed onto the floor. She shook her head weakly as her body ached. Brooke tried in vain to lift her

up.

“You’re hurt, who did it, let’s call the police!” Brooke saw the bruises and took out her cell phone.

Mia mustered all her strength and stopped her finger. She shook her head, “It’s useless…”

“It’s that man…”

She clenched her teeth and nodded. The pale small face was obviously laden with fear.

“Your relationship have already ended, what right does he have!” Brooke’s voice was already cracking

as she looked at the injuries on her best friend’s body. “What is that man’s name? Let’s go and charge

him!”

Sue him? It was easier said than done.

Mia raised her hand to wipe the tears off Brooke’s face. She shook her head to indicate that

everything’s fine and consoled her, “It’s okay now, it’s over. Now you should understand why I don’t

want to be with Collin. They are all in the upper class of society and it is inevitable that they will meet. I

don’t want to forever live in fear and worry.”

“Yes, yes.” Brooke wiped her tears and cried bitterly.

Mia came out of a company after a job interview. She didn’t bother to have lunch and continued to take

notes in her notebook. She has two other interviews in the afternoon and it was a distance away. She

decided to go there right away.

As she reached the bus stop, her cell phone rang. The phone belonged to Brooke. She lent her the

phone during her job hunt. When she took out the phone, she saw that the caller was Collin. Mia was

unwilling to answer the phone and just left it to ring. On the other end, it was as if the caller was

determined to get through and it just kept ringing. It was the fourth or fifth time he called.

“Miss, please answer your phone, it’s been ringing for a while.” A person beside her complained. Mia

smiled awkwardly and had no choice but to answer the call.

“Mia, do you know William?” Collin asked directly. Mia went pale immediately and her fingers trembled.

He actually told him?

“William today called me suddenly and wanted to cancel all cooperation with Rockwell Company. He

even said that if I wanted to know the reason then was to contact you. Mia, what is going on between

you and William? Can you tell me? We can apologize to him properly. You should know that if he were

to cancel all the cooperation, then my family’s company may become bankrupt…”

How can this be?

Mia was about to say something when some men in black appeared and chased away those who were

waiting for the bus.

“You…”

A handsome man walked in expressionless, they were … William’s men!

Mia was taken to the hospital by John and pushed into a freezing room. “Boss, Miss Charles is here.”

William turned around and his eyes were flaming and burning in fury. He looked as if he wanted to

devour her! He walked over in big strides and his hands grabbed onto her collar and almost choked

her.

“You’re capable, aren’t you? Mia?” The thunderous voice made her ears ring. She was then flung onto

a chair.

Before the pain eased and coming to her senses, his large hand came over and this time he strangled

her neck. His viciousness was directed towards her, “What has Sophia done to you? Why must you do

this to her!”

“What…” The intense pain prevented her from completing her sentence. She was thrown again and

she fainted. She was lifted up by the men in black. A paper was stuck on her face. William looked over

and yelled with a devilish voice, “Why didn’t I think of it! You, Mia, studied medicine and should be

familiar with medicine!”

She understood medicine but what did this have to do with Sophia?

Her soulless eyes fell upon a sentence on the paper, her eyes blinked several times: The blood is

How could that be? Her blood shouldn’t be any problems, not to mention about the stem cells getting

She shook her head to indicate her innocence. Her internal organs are all hurting and she couldn’t

speak a word. She could only stare with her eyes wide open at William, trying to say that: She really

didn’t do anything!

William calmed down a little and walked towards her. His eyes on her were filled with hatred, “Don’t use

such expression to look at me! Mia, I know that you hate me but I want you to know that it’s all your

own doing! You contaminated your own blood and stem cells and almost harmed my Sophia. How are

you going to settle this with me?”

The door was pushed open and James walked in and saw Mia. He immediately helped her up in front

of William, “Wills, Sophia’s procedure is rather successful and is no longer in any danger. The next step

is to prepare for another bone marrow transplant.”

“Certainly, immediately carry out the procedure!” William didn’t look at Mia and ordered mercilessly.

Mia was in James’s embrace and caught her breath. She looked at him and said, “Professor Davies, it

wasn’t caused by me. I can’t possibly hurt Mrs. Brown. “

“I believe you.” James’s voice was like a spring day breeze blowing right into her heart. All her pain was

eased and Mia was so touched that she cried.
