Uncle's Love: My Sweet Little Wife

Chapter 123 Kara's Home-Made Lunch

Chapter 123 Kara's Home-Made Lunch

Kara stood by the bed and rubbed James's forehead gently.

Half an hour later, she was quite sleepy while he was still energetic and staring at her.

"Do you have a headache?" She asked worriedly.

"Why aren't you steaming?" He said disappointedly.

Kara rolled her eyes at him. She finally understood why Nolan had escaped.

A drunk James was such a difficult person to deal with.

She could only gently massage his head, hoping that he would behave more nicely when his headache

was relieved.

James was comforted and moved his body so he could get as close as possible to her. His hair

brushed her, making her feel itchy. She tried to move further from him when she was grabbed on her

wrist. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

"Focus!"

...

Kara gritted her teeth and glared at him.

Another half an hour had passed. Kara yawned and shook her sore wrists. When she looked down at

James, she found that he had fallen asleep.

"James?" She called out to him softly, and he did not move.

She let him lie flat. When she was about to go away, she was held tightly in his arms.

Kara didn't know what to do as she didn't want to wake him.

Therefore, she decided to let him go and just lay down. Not long after, she fell into sleep as well.

...

When Kara woke up the next day, James had already got up and left her room. She felt somewhat

relieved because she didn't have to face James the moment she opened her eyes.

She got up and did preparations for going out. When she got dressed, she noticed some red spots

around her collarbone.

In the past, she would have recognized them as the work of a mosquito. But now, she knew that these

were hickeys.

She ran downstairs angrily and saw James having breakfast elegantly without looking at her.

...

She wanted to call him but was torn between calling him "James" and "Uncle James".

"What's the matter?"

Before she could make a decision, James finished his breakfast and looked at her.

Hearing his indifferent tone, Kara was even angrier.

She asked, "Uncle James, you were drunk last night. Do you remember?"

"Really?" James said calmly.

"Yes, you were!"

Kara had a wicked idea. 'If I tell him that he insisted that he was a cup and then a piece of clothes, he

can't remain calm like now.'

"So what?"

James sat still and looked at her seriously.

Kara was instantly terrified and quitted her idea.

Since he said that he would no longer accompany her to have meals, he hadn't smiled or said

something tender to her. She felt so upset, and so she angrily returned to her room to get changed.

When she was picking out her wearing today, she saw the stack of photos hidden under her clothes.

They were pictures of Kathleen and another man sleeping together. Although the man in that photo

only showed his back, she could tell that he was definitely not James.

There was also a note along with the photos.

It read, "Mr. James if you don't want your fiancée to get into a scandal, transfer 10 million to this

account."

'It's a blackmail note.' Kara held the photos and was furious.

'How should Kathleen do such an outrageous thing while she is to engage with James?'

As the president of the SA Group, if James's fiancée got involved in such a scandal, his and the

company's reputation would be stained. The stock price of the SA Group might also decrease because

of her.

She needed to give James these photos. After all, Kathleen was his fiancée. How to deal with this

incident was up to him.

After getting dressed, she hurried downstairs only to find that he had left the house.

She could only find an excuse to ask the studio for leave and stayed at home to prepare lunch for

James with Libby. She wanted to give him the photos and the note along with the lunch box.

"Miss Kara, did you call Mr. James and tell him that you were going to bring him lunch?"

"I didn't," Kara answered, not knowing why she had to call him first.

"Miss Kara, wait a minute. I'll call him now. Otherwise, you can't enter the company without an ID card."

Libby reminded her.

Kara nodded. She didn't set off until Libby had made the call.

In the SA Group, James sat in his office, looking exhausted.

He had just finished a meeting.

Thinking back on yesterday, he could only remember that he got drunk and was sent home by Nolan.

But he couldn't recall what happened after he got home.

When he woke up in the morning, he found himself in Kara's bedroom. He thought that he might have

done something irrational yesterday, so he quickly got up and returned to his room.

He remembered Kara's angry face when she got downstairs and expected his explanation. However,

he wouldn't admit things he didn't remember.

Hearing the knock on the door, he again put on the serious face and allowed the person at door to

come in.

"Mr. James, Miss Kara said that she was going to bring you lunch, and so I canceled your usual lunch

reservation today."

James was surprised. He didn't expect Kara would do that after being so mad at him in the morning.

"Did you ask her why?"

James didn't notice his relaxed and pleased expression and still tried to speak indifferently. Nolan was

amused by his behavior and took a lot of effort not to laugh out.

"Libby said on the phone that Miss Kara didn't go to the studio today, so she came to bring you lunch."

"I see."

He tried to conceal his smile, yet his lit-up eyes betrayed himself.

"Go buy some desserts and prepare some sweets," he told Nolan.

Nolan was clear about whom the desserts and sweets were prepared. He nodded and wrote it down on

his pad.

Seeing the schedule he noted down, he had to interrupt James's good mood, "Mr. James, you are due

to take wedding photos with Kathleen."

...

This was not delightful news for James, and so his smile was immediately replaced by a serious and

sharp look.

Nolan said cautiously, "It was Madam Hemming's arrangement. She wouldn't allow you to refuse it."

"Have you accomplished what I told you?"

"Yes, it's all settled. Now we just need to invite them into our game," Nolan nodded and agreed.

James stroked the ring decorated with a black diamond on his pinky, ready to carry out his plan.

"Now, you may leave me."

He wouldn't spill out a word about more of the details of his plan even to Nolan, his confidant.

Nolan left the office.

James stared at a pile of charts and tables on his computer screen, but his mind was occupied by

Kara. He couldn't contain his smile.

Kara was sent to the SA Group by Mason and was told by him some procedures to enter the SA

Group, then she carried the small bag and got out of the car with the lunch box.

Walking to the gate of the SA Group, Kara looked up at the top of the building, surprised at its

grandeur.

She heard that the SA Group Building is a symbolic building of the downtown area of the NK City. Not

only was the building itself one of the best works of the most famous architecture designer, but also the

people who worked here were elites from all over the world.

Thinking about this was James's establishment, she was filled with a sense of pride.

'He is so capable!'

With this sense of pride, she stepped into the building.

But before she could go upstairs, she was stopped by the receptionist and met the last woman she

wanted to see.
