Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death

Chapter 375

Xavier had headed out at noon to handle urgent work. Yvette looked at the lofty Shannon sitting on the couch. She couldn't help but sneer upon hearing her tone. "You're the one who left Xavier here. What right do you have to criticize how I take care of him? I haven't let him starve or freeze. I've fulfilled my marital duties."

Taken aback by the retort, Shannon fell silent for a moment. After a while, she stood up and looked around. "Where's Xav? I'm here to take him home."

Now that Jeremiah had basically taken control of the company and all the shares and assets had been transferred, she wasn't worried about anyone at the company taking away the legacy that Xavier had built.

It was time to take Xavier back.

"I'm not going back." A voice came from the doorway.

Xavier, wearing a black coat, stood at the entrance. The look in his black-obsidian eyes remained unchanged.

Shannon was shocked that her once-outstanding son had now become blind. As she saw him walking in step by step, she hurriedly stood up to support him. However, he pushed her away. Shannon's hands were left empty. In an instant, she felt a sharp pang of sorrow.

"Xav, are you still mad at me? I did it all for our family. Your dad doesn't take care of anything. If I had stepped aside, the legacy you built would have gone to others. Rather than that, it's better to give it to Jerry I'll make sure he returns it to you when your health improves."

Shannon knew Xavier's physical condition and that his memory might recover, but his sight never would. The doctors had said that the damage to his visual nerves from the accident meant he would spend his life in darkness.

Xavier didn't waver despite those words.

"Tell Jeremiah this when you go home 'Just you wait; I won't let you off the hook!""

He recalled all the memories from his childhood. Jeremiah was far from the gentle person he appeared to be.

Shannon slapped him hard across the face.

Yvette, standing nearby, was in disbelief.

This was the first time Shannon had gotten physical with Xavier. She was shaking when she lowered her hand.

"Jerry is your brother. He listens to me far more than you ever did. No matter what I ask him to do, he never refuses. If he hadn't been sick, he would've been the CEO of Lane Group from the start!

"He said he never wanted to replace you. He did it all for our family. How can you be so selfish and narrow-minded?"Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Shannon had scolded Xavier because of his one sentence.

Listening silently, Yvette suddenly thought of her own experiences with Terrence. No matter the situation, Yara had always sided with Terrence.

Perhaps she didn't want others to suffer as she had. Yvette stepped in front of Xavier as Shannon continued to berate him.

"Have you said enough? Xavier is

clearly the one who's been replaced. He was supposed to be the CEO of Titan Corporation. But after he lost his sight, you abandoned him and left

him to live like an ordinary person. And yet, you're painting him as the villain!

"The only reason you claim Jeremiah's a 'good son' is because he listens to you, right? What if he stopped doing as you say? Would he then be considered bad?

"Is being good or bad determined solely by whether someone listens to you, Madam Shannon? In the end, you're the one who's selfish."

Shannon was rendered speechless.

She had always believed that she

had done a lot for Xavier, only to find herself unappreciated. Yet, she had never truly considered his

perspective.

Xavier had never expected Yvette to stand up for him. At that moment, all the despair in his heart seemed to dissipate.
