Chapter 343
Xavier ate the roasted carrot with risotto quickly. Zachary next to him reacted strongly, finding it disgusting. He couldn't believe his bastard father had actually eaten all of it.
After Xavier finished eating, he declared, "I love everything my wife cooks."
Yvette then slowly averted her gaze.
Claude was upset when he heard him call Yvette his wife. He then grabbed a serving spoon and served more to Xavier. "I cooked this carrot, didn't I, Yvvy?"
"Yeah, you did," Yvette replied with a hint of awkwardness.
However, as she witnessed Xavier being repeatedly deflated, she couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. This was an entirely new side of Xavier that she had never witnessed before. After that, Yvette served Xavier more roasted carrots. "Eat more if you like it."
Zachary was shocked and felt bad for Xavier when he saw the pile of roasted carrots on the latter's plate. "Mister, if you like them, I'll give you the ones from my plate."
Zachary looked innocent, but he felt mischievous. He thought, "Don't be mad at me for being mean. A man without cruelty isn't a real man."
When Zachary was about to pass over the roasted carrots, Xavier asked, "Zac, what did you learn in kindergarten today?" 2
Zachary dropped the spoon he was holding. Xavier challenged him. "Do you like carrots as well? I'll give you all of them, okay?"
As Zachary planned to refuse, Xavier said, "Yvvy, do you know Zac-"
"Suré, give them all to me. I love roasted carrots," Zachary said as he immediately took over all the roasted carrots.
Yvette and Viola were completely taken aback. Zac hated carrots above all else. Even at the age of six months, he had become ill and thrown up whenever any of his baby food had had carrots.
At the same time, Yvette was still pondering when Xavier had realized that the person standing in front of him was Zachary and not Noah.
Claude had initially assumed that Zachary would support him, but he was taken aback by Zachary's preference for Xavier. Regardless, Xavier was still his father. At that thought, Claude lost his appetite instantly.
After finishing the meal, Claude decided to head back, and Yvette escorted him to the door. "Bye."
"Hmm." Claude gazed at her for a long time before leaving.
After Claude drove away for a while, a large truck suddenly stopped in front of him, and a dozen thugs got out. Claude was stunned.
Not far from there, Mark sat in a sleek black car. He instructed the leader of the thugs over the phone, "Teach this ignorant man a lesson."
After Claude and Yvette had returned home, Xavier had called Mark and instructed him to block the intersection that Claude needed to pass through.
Meanwhile, Viola praised Claude in front of Xavier. "Claude has suffered a lot since he was a child. Not only does he manage a successful company, but he also knows how to cook. He doesn't smoke or drink. I wonder who will be lucky enough to be his future partner."
Xavier understood that Viola was trying to imply something to him. However, he ignored it since Claude might not be able to survive the
journey back.
Yvette ignored Viola's words as well because she was sure Claude only saw her as a friend.
She then looked at Zachary, who was still eating in the dining room. She asked curiously, "Zac, I thought you didn't like carrots."
Zachary felt like crying. "The roasted carrots are quite delicious today."This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
"Great! I'll cook it for you more often, okay?"
Xavier, who was standing nearby, became alert when he heard this. That night, the two of them were busy in the kitchen for a long time.
