Two Times the Charm

Chapter 33

Chapter 33

Alex was totally lost in the fun of playing in the amusement park!

Clara was lugging around a bag full of toys and snacks she bought for Alex.

It was a rare day to spend with her kid she wanted to give Alex as much company and care as possible

While on the carousel, Alex said, “Mommy, I want to take a picture!”

Clara immediately pulled out her phone-

But just as she’s about to snap a photo, a call from Emmett popped up on her screen!

Why on earth is he calling her at this time?

Clara answered right away, “Mr. Melendez, what’s up?”

“Where are you?”

“Im with my kide

“Where exactly?”

Clara almost spilled that they are at Melendez Amusement Park, but stopped herself at the last second.

“I’m at a park in the suburbs ”

“Come to Melendez Amusement Park Emmett’s voice was stern.

But Clara wasn’t about to take that risk, “My son loves it here, sorry, Mr. Melendez Today’s my day off.”

“Clara, don’t forget you’re my secretary!”

“Apologies, Mr. Melendez” Clara said, glancing at her son’s joyful expression. I really need to be with my kid today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!” Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

With that, Clara ended the call, feeling anxious about Emmett’s potential response. As she hung up, she couldn’t shake off the worry on her face.

Observing the troubled expression, Alex, her son, inquired, “What’s wrong. Mommy? You don’t look well!”

Clara reassured him, “It s nothing, sweetheart. Maybe Mommy just got a little too excited about finally getting to play with you!”

“Mommy, can we do this every day then?” Alex asked excitedly.

Clara smiled affectionately, “No, my love. Mommy still needs to work! Otherwise, we wouldn’t have a place to live!”

Alex’s enthusiasm caused him to completely forget about his previous plans with Aiden.

Meanwhile, Aiden felt awkward about his first outing with his father being to an amusement park.

As soon as they get out of the car, Emmett murmured, “Go play whatever you want.”

Aiden looked around, “I want a lemonade.”

Emmett frowned, “Just a lemonade?”

“For now… I just want a lemonade.”

“Are you messing with me?” Emmett glared at his son, “Can’t you have lemonade at home? Did you have to come here for it? We came to the amusement park to play!”

Not wanting to see him angry, Arden plucked up the courage to say, “Then let’s go on the carousel”

“Alright, you go ahead Emmett waved his hand dismissively, showing no intention of joining him,

To Emmett, bringing a kid to an amusement park meant letting the kid play by himself.

The security here was top–notch, so he’s not worned about Aiden getting lost.

Aiden didn’t insist. He nodded and headed towards the carousel.

Maybe Alex and his mom were already here, just forgot to bring their phones.

He looked around, hoping to spot a familiar figure….

That’s the only comforting thought he can cling to at the moment.

Lost in thought, he’s suddenly heard a park worker saying. “You sure change fast!”

Aiden was stunned, then quickly reacted, “Have you seen me before?”

“Yeah! Didn’t you just leave?

“Did I just ride the carousel?”

The worker nodded, seeming confused by his questions, “Yeah… Have you forgotten already?”
