passed away, so she didn’t object to the treatment.

However, after half an hour had passed, Juliana had not emerged from the emergency room.

She sensed something was wrong and asked a nurse to check on her.

The nurse’s cry of shock could be heard from inside.

“Ah! Someone’s dead!”

Cecilia rushed into the emergency room and found doctors and nurses on the floor, but they were all

unconscious.

She immediately stepped forward to check their heart beat. Fortunately, they were all just

unconscious.

However, Juliana was gone.

At that moment, Juliana had been taken away by a man disguised as an emergency room doctor.

The man knew that policemen were in the hospital, so it was

not easy to take Juliana away.

So, instead of leaving the hospital, he took Juliana, who was badly injured and unconscious, to the

furnace room.

After all, his intention wasn’t to save Juliana!

The furnace room was usually empty, with patrols and coal replenishment done at specific times.

The man had no sympathy for Juliana. He treated her as if she were a dead dog and left her on the

pitch–black pile of coal.

It was probably due to the pain from being grazed by a piece of coal. Her brow furrowed, but she didn’t

wake up.

The man opened the furnace door, retrieved a red–hot piece of coal from inside, and placed it directly

on Juliana’s wound.

The smell of burning flesh drifted over, and the searing pain awakened Juliana. She wanted to scream

in agony but was muffled.

Cold sweat tricked down from her forehead, tears filled her eyes, and her body trembled due to the

pain.

She looked at the man in the white coat before her, completely unaware of what was happening.

Seeing Juliana wake up, the man smiled under his mask.

He tossed the coal, now infused with the smell of roasted meat, back into the furnace.

“Don’t scream, or I will throw you in as firewood.”

Juliana’s face felt the scorching heat, and she nodded fearfully, her eyes filled with dread.

She no longer had the bravery to face death willingly, as she had just now when facing Sophia.

The man loosened his grip and said, “Tell me everything you know about Cecilia, and I’ll let go of you

and help you kill her.”

These words made Juliana’s eyes lit up.

out.

After hearing her remarks, the man interrupted her impatiently, “I don’t have much time. Get to the

point!”

Juliana was frightened by his malevolent gaze and immediately got to the point.

About ten minutes later, she finished.

The man didn’t get much useful information, and his expression was filled with displeasure.

“Is that all?”

“Y–yes… C–can I…”

Before Juliana could finish her words, her throat was cut.

The man’s malevolent words whispered in her ear, “People without value don’t deserve to live!”

Then, he picked up a sharp iron shovel from the coal pile, beat her until unconscious, and threw her

into the burning furnace.
