building, she spotted a familiar car parked in front of the building.
The car window was rolled halfway down, revealing the flawless profile of Christopher.
The sweltering heat streamed into the car, tousling his hair at the temples and bringing a lively touch to
his otherwise impassive demeanor.
At that moment, the bell signaling the end of the exams rang.
Christopher turned his head toward the music department, and his gaze met Cecilia’s as she strode
over.

Once she got in the car, she asked, “I thought I said I would head to the Emerald Mansion myself. Why
are you here?”
“Today’s the first day of summer break, and many students have people picking them up. How could I
not come?”
