Chapter 50
Chapter 50
When Franklin saw the look on Judy's face, he quickly changed tactics. "We can further negotiate the price if you think this is too expensive. I think 250 dollars will do."
Judy's eyes widened. She couldn't believe her ears. She hadn't even said anything, yet the property agent had halved the price. This was just absurd. Dominic thought this odd too. So, he quickly cut to the heart of the matter. "Is there something wrong with this property?”
"What makes you say that? You can't get anything better than this for miles around. This unit is perfectly fine. It's a brand-new unit. No one has lived here before. Cheap, to boot.”
"From what you said and what we've seen, the rent is the problem.”
Franklin's expression turned stiff. He then turned to look at Judy in curiosity. "You think it's too cheap?” Judy nodded.
"Well..." Franklin scratched his head. "250 dollars is still okay, right?”
Judy took out her phone and pulled up the rent prices for a few areas nearby. All of them were several times higher than this unit. Mentally, she sucked in a breath.
She then tugged on Dominic's sleeve and shook her head. Dominic understood her. "Let's take a look at some other units. We'll think about this one later."
With that, he prepared to leave with Judy.
Franklin chased after them, anxious. “Why don't you name your price then? I'll let you have the apartment if you name it!" he called outAll text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
As she sat in the car, Judy looked at the other properties that Franklin had sent her as well as their rent. She frowned in confusion.
Judy was unsure if the rental market was weak or if Franklin was an incompetent property agent. At any rate, none of the 4-bedroom apartments that he had sent her cost over 700 dollars in rent.
"I'm sorry, but none of the units that you've suggested are to my liking," Judy politely texted back. "Please tell me what kind of apartment you're looking for. I have several different units," replied Franklin.
Judy didn't answer his text message. She simply stared at their chat and sighed. She didn't have much money with her. She'll only be able to rent a small room.
Dominic glanced at the text message omher phone. "That property agent was a little strange, Seems th that there are oddballs out there ortunately, I came withyou. Who.Rnows what he was platting otherwise.” 6
Judy nedded in agreement. She then blocked Franklin.
"No need to rush into renting an apartment. Don't worry, I'll help you with this.”
It's alright; thanks. Icandothis myself.” ‘After thanking him, Judy went right back to searching fara place t to rent. She didn't wantto keep bothering Dominic. ~
Meanwhile, Clark was looking through some papers in his office. After receiving a phone call, Jeremy gingerly approached him. "Mr. Reid. the plan with the property agent went slightly awry. Your wife blocked him.” Clark frowned. "Why couldn't he handle such a simple matter?"
Sweat beaded Jeremy's forehead. "It was mainly because your apartment really is unfit to be rented out. And its price doesn’t quite match the market's, so..."
Jeremy's eyes met Clark's cald gaze. He quickly changed his tune. "I'll think of another plan."
Clark then averted his eyes.
Jeremy sighed. This was difficult. ~ Was Clark trying to drive him up the wall? Glark was already married. There \ was nothing wrong with being coricerned for his wife, Judy,
Couldn't he just settle the housing situation for her directly? Why would he go through all this trouble?
"By the way, Mr. Reid, your grandfather called earlier while you were in a meeting.”
"I see.” Clark acknowledged. "And what did he say?"
"He said that he's gone to his vacation home. He wants you to have lunch or dinner with him this weekend.”
"And what else did he say?”
