Chapter 44
Chapter 44
As if time had stood still. the atmosphere in the car fell into an awkward silence.
Clark's hand remained grabbed onto Judy's hand as if he hadn’t woke up from the dream. His cold, sharp eyes slowly wandered, and despite staring at Judy, a different face showed in front of him
Judy was petrified, terrified to make any move.
"Mr. Reid, we've arrived at the hospital." Sebastian's voice brought Clark back to his senses. His eyes focused and he saw Judy's face. He ordered with a cold face, "Get off.”
Judy dared not to say anything, quickly grabbed her tote bag, and exited the car.
She was relieved when the car finally left the hospital. With fear still lingering in her thoughts, she checked her arm that Clark grabbed and moved it around to confirm it wasn't fractured.
That Clark... he was equally terrifying even when he was asleep and dreaming.
But, Judy recalled he was calling a name earlier. Was it Sapphire?
In the car that just left the hospital, Clark was still in a trance. Sebastian asked worryingly, "Did you have the nightmare again, Mr. Reid?” Clark massaged his temple. His forehead was deeply creased from his brows drawing together, causing him to look even colder.
It had been many years since he last dreamed of the fire. Memory faded over time. Despite how hard Clark had tried to retain his memory, his memory about Sapphire slowly vanished as time passed.
He couldn't tell when was the last time he could remember her face clearly. All he could remember was his eyes blurred by tears as he was trapped in a burning fire with another woman. When Clark got closer to her, he would wake up as the dream stopped.
But strangely, Judy's face overlapped with the face he saw in the fire.
Clark clenched his fist. It was impossible for Judy to be Sapphire.
"To the cemetery, Sebastian,” Clark said caldly.
Sebastian was surprised. But when he saw Clark's cold stare through the rearview mirror, his hand trembled a little and said, "Yes, sir."
Clark leaned back into the seat and remained silent.
Judy had spent the whole day in the hospital taking care of Lilly.
It would be Monday tomorrow, and. Lilly's surgery was scheduled early’ in the morning. So Judy would be staying in the hospital with Litly tonight. > 7
Dominic managed to squeeze out the time for this surgery only because it was for Judy's sake.
He came into the ward in person to take Lilly's temperature and said, "Mrs. Dean's temperature is normal. The surgery should be able to~ progéed if there's no emergency happened." -
Dominic turneé-to Judy and reminded het. "Just remember, Mrs. Dean hasto™ start fasting in the = <> afternoon: She'll have an enema at about 3.C 00 pm later. It may be uncemfortable for her. Let her know tobe ready for it." Content. belongs to osProperty © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Judy nodded. "Okay, I'll tell her later.”
"Oh yeah, you haven't had your lunch, have you?" Dominic looked at his watch and said. "Come, let's go have lunch together.”
Judy shook her head to decline. She signed, "It's okay, I have to stay with Grandma."
Dominic was about to say something but heard a woman call for him. "There you are, Mr. Phelps. I've looked around for you for so long." Both Judy and Dominic drew their brows together when they heard the voice. They knew who the voice belonged to. It was Jenna
"I'll be in the ward, Dr. Phelps. You should get to work," Judy signed.
Dominic grabbed Judy's arm and said, "At least eat something. Come join me.”
While Judy was surprised and halted her movement, Jenna arrived before them.
