Chapter 390 Gentleness
Chapter 390 Gentleness
The next morning, the sun rose up again.
Amelie Mullen opened her bleary eyes, turning her head to the direction of the window.
However, it was blocked by curtains, so she couldn’t see anything.
Then Amelie got up slowly, glancing at the alarm clock beside the bed.
It was past eight o’clock in the morning.
How strange it was! Why didn’t Lamont Byron wake me up?
Amelie was full of doubts.
She quickly got up from the bed and got out of bed. She had thought of going out. However, she hurried into her bathroom and took a good wash in order to avoid embarrassment as she suddenly realized that Lamont might still be outside.
Indeed, Lamont had already got up, but he was not in the room.
After an unknown amount of time, Amelie finished washing and walked out of the bedroom, only to find that there was no one in the living room.
She went straight to the balcony.
The sun was shining brightly at this time, warming upon her body.
Maybe she would return her country very soon.
Amelie’s mood improved a lot.
“Why did you get up so early? I remember that I send you a message last night. It’s enough for you to wake up at nine for the plane at eleven o’clock this morning.”
Lamont’s voice suddenly came, which startled Amelie.
“I, I just couldn’t sleep, so I just got up early. Did you go out? Is it…”
Amelie saw the bag in Lamont’s hand, and knew what he was doing just now.
“Yes, I went to buy breakfast. I know you don’t like the food here, so I specially found a domestic restaurant to make it. The taste should be okay. Come and eat.”
Lamont’s unusual gentleness surprised Amelie, but she quickly calmed down.
She sat calmly in front of the sofa, watching Lamont put things in front of her one by one.
As the boxes were opened one by one, Amelie was surprised to find that they were all her favorites.
There were fried buns, egg pancakes, and buns.
“Where did you find it? How could there be such an authentic breakfast here?”
A long-lost smile appeared on Amelie’s face.
“Let’s eat them. Have a good breakfast.”
Amelie had already picked up the chopsticks and started to eat.
After breakfast, they quickly packed up and rushed to the airport.
On the way, Amelie told James Harlyn that she was leaving.
Sure enough, James was very angry when he got it.
“What did you say? You’re leaving? You didn’t tell me until you got on the plane! What are you doing? What do you mean?”
James was very unhappy and said angrily.
Fortunately, he couldn’t do anything but get angry on the phone. Amelie didn’t care.
“I’ve already decided to leave, so that’s it. If you have a chance to go back. I will treat you to a big meal.”
After speaking, she hung up the phone, not giving James a chance to react at all.
Lamont sat on the side, listening to the conversation between them, couldn’t help laughing.
Amelie heard the voice and looked at him with a surprised expression on her face.
Lamont, who was always serious, would unexpectedly laugh heartily.
Soon they arrived at the airport and boarded the plane again.
Eight long hours passed quickly.
When Amelie opened her eyes again, the plane was landing.
Finally, the plane landed on the airport. Amelie was grabbed by Lamont as she was just about to get off the plane.
“Be careful, there are too many people now.”
Amelie was surprised by Lamont’s tenderness, but also felt very happy.
It would be good if they could maintain this kind of relationship after returning home.
“What are you thinking about? So engrossed?”
Lamont glanced at Amelie, then took luggage from her hand and walked in front her.
Amelie hurriedly followed behind, feeling a little flustered.
As soon as she walked out of the airport, Amelie saw her friend whom she missed very much.
“Belen Patrick? Why are you here?”
The moment Amelie saw Belen, she was full of surprise and happiness on her face.
“It’s Lamont who called me, and I’m here to pick you up.”
After Belen finished speaking, she hugged Amelie.
“Amelie, I’m really glad to see you come back safely.” Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Amelie patted her on the shoulder to comfort her.
“Why are you suddenly so expressive? You were not like this before. By the way, since I have returned to China, I will still be Elena Cisneros. You’d better call me Elena in the future…’
Amelie reminded Belen.
Belen didn’t speak, but just nodded.
Come on, let’s get in the car.”
Lamont who was in the driver’s seat started the car.
In the car, Belen seemed hesitant to speak something several times, holding Amélie’s hand.
Amelie could tell that she seemed to be hiding something from her.
The airport was a bit far from the apartment where Amelie lived, which took nearly an hour.
Feeling uneasy, Amelie took out her phone and flipped through the latest news.
No big news.
“Amelie, Amelie, what are you thinking about? Maybe I’m thinking too much.” She thought.
She calmly put down the phone.
Belen thought for a while and finally looked at Amelie.
“Amelie, there is something I should tell you.”
“What’s the matter? Are you hiding something from me?” Amelie asked calmly.
“There is indeed something wrong, but I hope that you could stay calm after I tell you. Everything will be fine.”
Belen looked at Lamont while talking.
“Tell me, what happened?”
Amelie became more and more uneasy.
“Well… Your father suffers a relapse, and we don’t know what illness it exactly is. He is receiving treatment in the hospital. Don’t worry, I believe there will be news soon.”
“What did you say? My dad is sick? When did this happen? Why did you wait until now to tell me?”
Hearing the news of her father’s illness, Amelie really lost her mind.
‘We got it not long ago. Rex Mullen was worried that it would affect you, so we decided to tell you as your father was diagnosed.” Belen said in a low voice.
At this moment, Amelie felt that her chest was very stuffy and uncomfortable.
“Impossible! My father has already recovered. How could it happen? It’s definitely impossible! Impossible!”
Amelie cried, then hugged her head and yelled.
Lamont, who was driving in front, couldn’t bear to hear Amelie’s pain.
“Amelie, I know you won’t be able to accept it now. Don’t worry, we will do our best. Your father is definitely fine.”
Lamont’s consolation did not have much effect.
“So you already knew, didn’t you? You’ve been hiding it from me? Why?”
Amelie looked up at Lamont incomprehensibly.
