Nathan watched them together, in each other’s arms. He wouldn’t lie, but the truth was it was hurting him to see Ethlyn moving on in her life. While he was still in the same place where he was the day he rejected her.

He wouldn’t deny the fact that right then, if Ethlyn was confessing her love for someone else or was in someone else arms, then it was because of him. He recalled her words while rejecting her.

‘Nathan, there is some misunderstanding for sure. Please don’t take this in haste.’

But he didn’t listen to her, and the result was in front of his eyes. Only if he would have stayed with her that night and wouldn’t have fallen into Elena’s trap, then Ethlyn would have been still his. Or if he had handled the news of Ethlyn’s pregnancy well and had discussed it with her, even in that case, the situation would have been different.

A few days back when Elena contacted him for this brand new information and suggested the stupid idea of getting Ethlyn back in his life. Her idea was tempting, but the question was, until when? Until when would this lie live? A month? A year? A decade?

Not more than that. And would he be able to stay happy by doing all this? Nope! He would have to spend all in tension that Ethlyn would get her memory and then…. Then she would choose her pup over everything, just like any other mother.

He had already ruined his relationship with Ethlyn because of his mistake; he still couldn’t forgive himself for the death of her other pups. The last thing he wanted to stoop low in his own eyes by creating any trouble in Ethlyn in any way.

He took around three days to think about all pros and cons of everything. And at the end, he decided that he would go ahead with Elena’s idea even though he wanted Ethlyn in his life. That was why he came here to meet with Calvin to warn him about Elena’s move and her spy in the pack who was transferring all the news related to Ethlyn to her.

He wasn’t sure whether Calvin would believe his words or not, but he had to try. “Why are you helping me by telling me about this?” Calvin asked him when he heard Nathan’s side of the story. “As far as I can see, you have a chance to have Ethlyn by taking advantage of lying to her and fooling her.”

“But for how long, Alpha Calvin?” Nathan asked. “Ethlyn doesn’t hate me at this moment, but she will definitely hate me if I will do this to her. I know I had done a lot of things to her in the past, but we all learn, and we all grow.”

Calvin could see that the man sitting in front of him wasn’t lying. He had run a background check on him, and surprisingly he didn’t find anything bad about him except for the part that he once cheated on his mate, which was revealed recently; unlike Calvin, Nathan wasn’t even a womanizer and was an amazing Alpha.

Moreover, he himself approaches Calvin to tell him about Elena’s plan against Ethlyn.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting that from you but then again… people changes along with time, and yes, we all learn, we all grow.” Calvin appreciated Nathan’s favor. “By the way, I need two favors from you.”

“Favors? What favors?” Nathan asked in confusion.

“One, I need a sketch of Elena because I guess no one knows how she looks except you and Ethlyn’s mother, who is obviously more into protecting her pup from me, and another one is that I need to know whether Ethlyn has really lost her memory or is taking revenge on me.”

“By the way, how could you get pregnant?” Nathan heard Calvin asking this question. He really felt that he should leave instead of hearing this conversation. He didn’t want to use his mind to think about why Calvin asked this question. Wasn’t it obvious that a woman gets pregnant after having sex or making love, or after getting fucked?

He shook his head, imagining anything in his mind. All he could hope was that Calvin wouldn’t end up repeating the same mistake that he did by doubting her character because Ethlyn was an amazing woman, and there was no doubt of that. Thinking about all this, he left from there.

“Since when do you know about pregnancy?” Ethlyn asked in a low tone.

“I learned about your pregnancy when Nathan spoke about it. I mean, the plan was to make you believe that Nathan was taking advantage of memory loss so that you would end up confessing the truth, but I lost my control when he used your pregnancy as a way to make you believe that you’re pregnant with his pup.” He responded before cursing Nathan, “Cheeky Bastard.”
