Calvin spent some time reading about Amnesia over the internet. He wanted Ethlyn to remember everything within a second, if possible. He knew that those were not very moments for Ethlyn, but that was where their connection had begun, unknowingly.
He read in detail about how to deal with Amnesia and then groaned in frustration recalling how she didn’t recognize him. While after that incident, Calvin kept recalling each and every moment. ‘I should go and make her listen to this song.’ He thought and hoped for her to remember something about her past. With this thought, he ran back to her and was surprised to see her sleeping with their princess.
‘Is her memory back?’ This was the first thought that came to his mind and a big smile appeared on his lips. He sat on the stool near the bed and kept staring at both the ladies. He kept staring at them while they were sleeping and a lot of things kept running through his mind, wondering how this was possible that she got her memory back.
She was holding Roselet as if her life depended on her.
‘What if her memory is all right and she is playing with me to take revenge on me?’ He wondered and felt that this could be the possibility of this. As much as he knew his family members, they could go against their own family members if they would know about how he behaved with Ethlyn because of Chloe, not just that he even insulted Colton.
But Ethlyn wasn’t someone who would complain about him to his family members, was she? When he was thinking all this when he sensed her waking from her sleep.
In the next moment, her hazel eyes met his brown, and he threw the arrow aimlessly, “You’re taking revenge on me by acting to forget me, aren’t you?”
‘Please say YES, YES, YES!!’ He kept chanting in his mind and found her furrowing her eyes.
“I’m sorry is a very small for what I have done, Ethlyn, but… but just not take revenge in this way. I know I have hurt you. I made you wait for me like a stupid and didn’t even care to apologize when I finally came to have dinner with you because of my so-called ego. I’m sorry for that.”
“I’m sorry for even thinking about Chloe even for a once when I had thought to give US a chance. You never told me, but I know that I hurt you and Cinder a lot. I won’t give an excuse that I gave you both that pain just for a while because that doesn’t matter whether you kill someone once or twice; the pain will be a pain.”
“I couldn’t even begin to imagine the pain I’d put you through but somewhere, I could guess that it would have broken your heart into tiny pieces to see me giving more priorities to someone else. Because right now, I’m thinking in the same way by imagining you with Nathan. I saw the hurt in your eyes that I’d put there by not mentioning even a once that I chose you over her when Colton said that he would spend time with you if I would stay with Chloe.”
“I know that was selfish of me that I thought to have both of you, but not once I thought to leave you. I know that was also wrong. It’s not that I realized all this in the last couple of days. I knew that about it all along but did nothing at that moment is the past that is killing me inside.”
“I hate myself for what I have done and trust me, the guilt within me is eating me. I won’t blame Keanu fully for all this because only if I would have determined my decision, then wouldn’t this have happened. I’m willing to lay down my life if you will ask that from me for what I have done. Also, I owe my life to you.”
“I agree that I didn’t kiss Chloe or sleep with her but thinking of spending my life with her even for a second is counted as cheating. I know what I did is unforgivable, but I promise that I’m willing to spend the rest of my life making up for it.”
“I’m not asking you to forgive me now and here. Take your time. Just… just don’t play this game with me.” Calvin nearly begged, and a lone tear escaped from Ethlyn’s eyes. “Please, say something.”
Ethlyn took a moment to respond to the speech that Calvin said in front of me, “Wow!!” She whispered, wiping her tears. “Your acting and your dialogues were so real that I felt that I was in another world.” She said, showing how impressed she was with his speech.
“Ethlyn…”
“Now, tell me, where is the camera?” Ethlyn asked, looking around as if she was searching for the camera. “Just because I don’t have my memory, you’re trying to prank me, right?” She questioned with a playful smile, trying her best not to show that she wasn’t really affected by Calvin’s heartfelt apology.
“This…this is not a prank, Ethlyn,” Calvin spoke in a low tone. He felt like his tiny hope was crushed badly when Ethlyn called his feeling a prank. “I…. I was sincere with my words.”
“Oh, okkkaaayyy!! Reva didn’t tell me about all this, but anyway, now that I don’t remember the pain you gave me, you don’t have to apologize to me. And if that is not enough, then you’re forgiven if that is what you want.” Ethlyn said as if she wasn’t a big deal for him. She really wished him to leave the room, or she would be exposed because it was hard to pretend in front of him with each passing second.
‘You’re forgiven if that is what you want.’ Calvin repeated her words in his mind. He didn’t just want forgiveness. He wanted more. He wanted her.
“Will you please leave now, Alpha?” Ethlyn asked. “I want to sleep again.” She added to kick him out from there.
“I will be back again because this is not over,” Calvin whispered and stood up on his feet, and started leaning toward her. Ethlyn’s eyes widened at first, thinking that he was going to kiss her, but instead, he shifted toward Roselet and kissed her hair. He smirked when he heard her heart pounding loudly inside her chest.
‘She might have forgotten me, but her heart still has the same effect that it had before.’ He thought before leaving.
