47. An Announcement

- KATALEYA

The Pack dinner hall is bustling with many pack members joining us for brunch and for the announcement their alpha is about to make. Some are curious, some excited, some happy for some normalcy with the added curfew and rules in place of late.

"Why do I feel this announcement

going make me happy?" Marie asks with a smile as she nudges me.

"Focus on the job you're doing first. You'll find out," Jose says, placing his hand fleetingly on her shoulder as he walks past. I glance between them, smiling happily. This means Marie will be the Beta Female.

"Yes sir," she says, rolling her eyes before turning back to her task. She is currently helping set up the locations of the camera which would livestream the announcement to Dad, Leo, Mama Mari, Grandad and, of course, their families. Zu is already excited, and I haven't even mentioned I'm engaged to anyone yet. Although I'm bursting to share it with someone.

I look down at my phone. Nothing from Song... I text Azura.

KATALEYA: Could you get in contact with Song? I wanted her to be here. I've rarely spoken to her lately.

I glance at the screen where I see Azura disappear from the screen and moments later, a reply pops up.

AZURA: Same, I think she and Atlas were having some issues, but she's pretty much ghosted me. I'll try to contact her.

KATALEYA: Thanks.

I hope she can get through to her, but I feel sad, I know I've asked her a few times if she's ok but she isn't one to share.

"So, make sure you don't fucking mute me."

I smile, glancing over at Mama as I hear Dad's voice.

They will all be able to see what's going on, as well as be present, and I'll get to see and hear them too, each family on a different screen. I can already see Mama Red, Grandad, Carter and Katara watching. Leo, Zu, Uncle Marcel, Winona and the kiddies are here too. Then Mama Mari with Sienna and Tatum. I wish they were here in person, but this is the next best thing.

"I won't, but please, play nice," Mama whispers.

"I don't fucking do nice."

"Not even for me?" I ask, now stepping in front of the camera as I look over at Dad, who is sitting in his office smoking away, with Alessandra sitting on the arm of his chair.

Dad grunts like the grumpy cute bear he is.

"I almost forgot what you looked like. Didn't think to check in with your old man?"

My eyes widen as I realise that I haven't actually had a proper call with him since everything happened. I look down, feeling guilty. I was always the one who would call Mama and Dad, back when we were in school or away. Even when I moved to Leo's pack, I always did. With Enrique... I forget everything.

I look over at the man who is speaking to the younger unshifted wolves and smile softly. "Sorry, Dad, I've been.. distracted." I admit, blushing lightly.

"Don't apologise. Dad's being a baby," Alessandra adds.

"The fuck?" he growls, looking at her.

She shrugs. "Karma's a bitch."

"Ok guys, no fighting. Dante not around?" Mama asks.

"No, Mama, your favourite baby isn't," Alessandra responds mockingly. Mama shakes her head, looking surprised.

"I don't have a favourite. You're all my favourite."

"Oh please," Skyla remarks from behind us, slinging an arm around both Mama's and my shoulders. "He is definitely your favourite."

Alessandra nods and I giggle. "Maybe?"

"I think they're fucking right." Dad snorts.

Skyla and Alessandra nod as Mama opens her mouth to speak when she realises she won't win against all of us combined, even if I sit it out.

"So am I forgiven-" I'm cut off when a strong pair of arms wrap around me. My heart skips a beat as his scent invades my senses, and Enrique buries his head into my neck, kissing me there.

A low growl comes from Dad. But somehow, it is not so scary when I'm in Enrique's arms, but I can't help but blush. I smile at Dad, whose eyes are red as Alessandra rolls her eyes.

"Lycan." Enrique greets Dad.

"Fucker." Dad answers, making Enrique scoff.

"Right back at you," he remarks, making my eyes widen. Now it's Dad's turn to sneer.

"Alejandro," Mama warns with a slight pout, making Dad grunt. Enrique smirks.

"I want you back home, he's annoying." Alessandra complains Mama.

"You're fucking annoying." Dad counters. "She thinks she's the fucking boss."

"Uh, cus I am?" Alessandra scoffs, making Skyla snicker.

"Totally agree, Dad's at retirement age now. Don't you agree, Leo?"

Leo simply frowns at her. Everyone knows he is in no rush to take over.

"So shall we?" Enrique asks, looking down at me. I can feel Dad's eyes buming into us.

I nod up at Enrique, closing my eyes as he kisses me, making my entire body react. Goddess, I love him, and I'm not going to hide that. I blush when I hear Sienna and Heaven go 'awe'

We break apart as Enrique gives the camera a nod in greeting to the others before we step back and walk around the table that is right in front of the camera. All my family is sitting here, and Enrique has Jose, Carlos and Marie here too.

I glance at my phone when it vibrates and sigh internally when Azura tells me she's not been able to get through to Song.

Enrique stays silent as he waits for everyone to quieten down, which happens rather quickly when everyone sees us standing here.

"I think I've made some announcements multiple times and really, if I make the same fucking one a third time, it's not going to sound as genuine, is it?"

A few people chuckle as Jose nods, a smirk on his lips. "Yeah, I agree. It isn't."

"Cabrón," Enrique mutters, but that sexy smirk is still on his lips.

"So, I'll start by introducing the diosa who has stolen my heart and soul, Kataleya Rossi, Mi Luna, Mi Reina!* Everyone cheers, clapping loudly as Enrique takes hold of my chin and kisses me deeply.

My heart hammers as I kiss him back, before he slowly breaks away, reaching into his pocket and taking out a ring. My eyes widen, surprised as I wonder where he got it from so quickly, whilst at the same time staring at the beautiful ring as gasps fill the room.

It is a stunning rose gold ring, set with a pale pink diamond and surrounded by small clear ones.

"And, I have already proposed, so I'll save going down on my knees for later." He winks at me, making my eyes fly open as a few people cheer and whistle. I think I hear Dad growl.

"Hot Damn." Skyla snickers and she and Azura laugh as I blush.

"Wait, what? He proposed!" Azura exclaims.

"Way too fast." Dad grumbles.

"Finally, thank the Goddess," Jose adds quietly.

"Está más enchula'o!" Carlos chuckles.

"But just so everyone can hear her answer loud and clear.." He now takes hold of my chin, his other arm snaking around my waist as he turns me and pulls me against him, making everything around us fade away.

"Will you be mine forever, Mi Amor?"

"I've always been yours, My Love," I respond softly, feeling emotional all over again, but I have no doubt. He is mine and I am his.

A sexy smile crosses his face as he kisses my forehead, making my eyes flutter shut. My heart thuds, my emotions swirling around me as he moves back slightly and takes my hand, slipping the ring onto my ring finger.

"It fits so perfectly," I say softly. "It's beautiful."

"It was made for you, just as you were for me," he adds seductively, making me blush as everyone cheers once

again.

We gaze into one another's eyes, but that's all we have time for before Carlos pulls Enrique into a hug and Skyla gets up, hugging me. I swear she's crying, but she refuses to look into my eyes before Mama, Del, Ri and everyone

congratulate us.

The room is full of excitement, happiness, and warmth.

Everyone wants to congratulate us. I look across at Enrique as Royce hugs him, welcoming him to the family, as I hug another Pack member. Those who are watching us from across the world congratulate us too. Well, everyone but Dad who looks depressed, and Grandad El who is smiling but he too seems sad.

"Bet you're happy," Dad shoots at him, as if wanting to pick a fight with someone.

"I wish I could say I was seeing you go through that pain, but she's also my granddaughter, and she'll be so far away," Grandad admits, giving me a smile, his cerulean eyes shining with emotion. Mama Red wraps her arm

around his arm.

"As long as she's happy," she says, smiling softly just as Katara sits forward, spotting Uncle Liam. "Daddy!" "Coming, princess." Uncle Liam comes over as Aunty Raven congratulates me and so does Carter.

"Hot damn, girl, you did great. And that comment from papi-" Leo casts her an icy glare and she coughs. "From Erique about going down on his knees later, get it, girl."

I giggle at their exchange before I smile at Corrado. "Hey, kiddos."

"So will we see little Enrique's and Kat's soon?" Azura asks.

"No, there fucking won't be." The room becomes pretty quiet as Mama stares at Dad at his outburst.

"We haven't thought so ahead yet," I say before I turn to Enrique, who is smirking cockily.

"But we'll continue practising how to." He adds, making my eyes widen as Mama mutes Dad's screen as fast as

she can, because he sure does look enraged.

"He's just emotional." Mama reassures me, smiling apologetically.

I giggle. "He is. I know he's happy for me because this has always been my dream," I say softly, knowing Dad can

hear me. I look at the screen and smile gently.

"So will we see little alpha heirs?" someone asks.

"Let's get married first," I reply, blushing as Enrique approaches us. I'm relieved because my face is all hot and I

bury it in his chest, hiding away for a moment.

He wraps his arms around me, and I feel protected.

"When will you marry?" Skyla asks.

"I'm sure they have enough time to think about that. No need to rush them," Mama says.

"Yeah, if it was up to me, I'd marry her as soon as possible."

My heart skips a beat as I look up at him. "Then let's do it. Once everything is settled, let's marry. I want to be Mrs

Escarra as soon as possible."

"Then it's settled," Enrique says as he motions for Jose to unmute Dad, who looks extremely annoyed right now."

You can attend if you like. Maybe you can give your daughter to me with your own hands."

Dad gives him a death stare, but I'm sure he'll do it.

"I would love that," I say, wrapping my arm around Enrique's, who has a very arrogant smirk on his face.

Oh, naughty Kiké "Sooo, I mean, while you all handle the bad guys, I could start wedding prep?" Marie pipes in.

"Yeah, before he changes his mind again," Jose jokes, making several of us laugh and many people come forward

"So why is the wedding going to be there?" Dad growls.

"Because this is her home now," Enrique says.

I look at Dad and smile gently. I see his gaze soften. He is just upset, but he knows, he's always known.

I smile up at Enrique before I nod in agreement.

"I'm finally home."
