CHAPTER 43: The Serious Matter

AFTER TAKING A bath, Lilian went out of Alpha Karius bathroom with just a towel wrapped around her

body. She forgot to get her clothes earlier because of her annoyance to him when he told her that he

put all her things inside his room! He didn't even bother to ask her about it!

"Woah. You're so sexy, love." She heard Alpha Karius say while she's on his way to his closet, as if he

didn't even do something wrong!

Alpha Karius couldn't help but to notice how sexy she is even just with a simple towel wrapped around

her body. He suddenly envies the beads of water trickling down from her hair down to her chest. It was

such a turn on but of course, she's mad at her right now so he won't give in to his lust and desire easily.

Well, he asked Nadia to put all her things in his room from now on for their privacy... and also to watch

over her after she did to the rogue and the size of her wolf. He just wanted to make sure that she's fine

and the best thing that he could do is to make her closer to him.

Lilian looked at him and rolled her eyes at him. "Don't talk to me," she said. Before getting inside the

closet, she even heard his sexy chuckle making her even more annoyed. Wow. The jerk has the guts to

laugh at her!

After a couple of seconds, she opted wearing a mustard halter top dress that ended just above her

knees. She's drying her hair when she decided to go out. And there, she saw the grinning Alpha Karius

again from ear to ear. She rolled her eyes at her again as she made her way in front of the full length

mirror but before she could even do that, Alpha Karius suddenly pulled her arm that made her land on

his lap.

"Don't roll your eyes too much. You don't know how much those pretty eyes affect me," he said as he

got the towel from Lilian's hand and he continued drying her hair.

"Why does it even bother you?" She asked, raising a brow. Goodness. She doesn't know what's

happening to her anymore. She's just letting him do what he wants to do to her. This is not really good

already. And her heart... it beats so fast again just by only sitting on his lap. She knows this kind of

feeling. And she's afraid to admit to herself that her heart is at stake again... No...

"Because it turns me on so much. Well, whatever you do gives me a damn boner. That's how you affect

me, love. You're the only woman that could affect me like this," he answered, making Lilian's cheeks

heated. Alpha Karius even saw it that he even chuckled at her reaction. "You're blushing," he said with

his teasing tone.

Her eyes slightly widened a bit and looked away. "I-I'm not!" And now she's even stuttering! What's with

her now that she's suddenly shy to Alpha Karius? It's just him for Pete's sake! She should not feel this

way around him! She should show him that she's not affected at all!

"Okay, if you say so..." he replied. He stopped teasing her after that and just silently dried her hair.

When he's done, he suddenly hugged her from behind, making her straighten her back. She could feel

his broad chest behind her and she could also sniff his manly scent that she suddenly wanted to close

her eyes to smell it.

"Now, you're being clingy..." Lilian said, not looking back at him.

"I like hugging you, you know that even before." He chuckled.

"How sure are you that I still like being hugged by you, huh?" Her tone was a bit confident. She's not

the same Lilian anymore. The old Lilian likes being so close with him... but not anymore. The old Lilian

is already dead the moment she experienced so much pain.

"I just know. Even though you're rolling your eyes at me, I know you still like it because you're not really

pushing me away," he replied as if he was so sure of what he said.

The audacity of this man! Instead of arguing with him, she tried to stand up from his lap. "Get off me,"

she commanded but the brute just tightened his arm around her as if he really had no plans on letting

her go.

"Hmm. Please, let's stay like this for a while. I miss you, love. So much..." he suddenly said, making

Lilian stop from getting off of him.

"Tss. We're always seeing each other here in your mansion."

"I know but..." he sighed deeply. "I just missed the old us."

She gritted her teeth. "If you will just bring up our past, just let me go now. I have no time to reminisce

about those ugly memories," Lilian said as a matter of fact.

He sighed deeply. "I still love you, Lilian. What I feel for you never falters," he said instead, not minding

what she just said.

"Well... I'm sorry but the feeling is not mutual anymore," she coldly replied to him.

He smiled, but it was clear that it didn't even reach his eyes. "That's fine. I'll do everything for you to

love me again..."

"Let's see. Because I already told myself that I will never fall in love with you again. Never again," she

said and stood up from his lap, and this time, he let her go. She goes out of his room without hearing

his next words.

But what she didn't really like is her wolf whimpering like she's sad about the words that she said to

Alpha Karius. And her heart... it was aching when she had a glimpse of his hurt expression.

LILIAN WENT TO the village to visit some other wolves. But what she didn't really expect is seeing

Jackson mingling with the other wolves there as if he's been staying in the pack for so long. Jackson

could be really friendly to everyone around him, that's why he's loved by the Midnight pack, not only

because he's handsome but he's also kind and nice. That's the reason why female wolves are so fond

of him.

Just like now. Most of the wolves talking to him are females. Girls are obviously whipped by his looks

on the first glance. He could easily charm someone with just his smiles.

She cleared her throat to get everyone's attention. "What's the matter here? And, oh. It seems like we

have a newbie here..." Lilian even pretended that she's shock as she looked at Jackson's direction as

she raised a brow.

"Luna!" Everyone even bowed their heads a bit as they saw Lilian approach their direction except

Jackson.

Jackson smirked at her, crossing her arm in front of her chest. Okay. So, he has the audacity to smirk

at her, huh.

"Good day, Luna Lilian. I am Jackson Casters from a pack in South Africa. I am currently working on

my blog and I chose this pack to feature since I've heard many good things here. Although Alpha

Karius already gave me the permission, I hope you wouldn't mind me roaming around the pack, Luna."

He chuckled a bit and even scratched the back of his head, also emphasizing the word 'Luna'. "This is

my first day and I can already feel the warmth of the whole Moon Stone pack." He smirked.

Lilian couldn't help but to shake her head mentally. So Jackson made up some story to go here.

Jackson Casters, huh? He used a fake surname to hide his real identity. She's actually surprised that

"That's fine with me. Uh... I'll just go near the falls to relax a bit." She pointed at the direction where the

falls is. She looked at Jackson as if she's talking to him through her eyes and fortunately, he got what

she wanted to say to him. Lilian wanted so badly to talk to him.

The falls is the best place where she could talk to Jackson since the water is noisy enough for the other

wolves to not hear their conversation. She won't dare risking it. Someone might find out that Jackson is

a fraud so as much as possible, she wanted to make everything related to the both of them just a

secret.

Just a couple of seconds later, she reached the falls and stood there silently, waiting for him. And just

what she thought, Jackson followed her there moments later.

"Hi." Jackson greeted him and even flashed a smile as if he didn't do something wrong.

"Hi, your face! Why are you here, Jackson?" she asked immediately as she rolled her eyes.

He chuckled. "Woah. Chill. I just want to take a visit, okay? I want to make sure you're fine so... how

are you?" He asked.

"I'm fine. I know there's another reason aside from that, Jackson. Tell me now."

He became serious this time. "Yeah. We really need to talk about a serious matter, Lilian. This has

something to do with you..."

Lilian couldn't help but to straighten her back a bit. Now, she suddenly felt nervous about the next thing

that Jackson is about to say.
