The Mysterious Billionaire

Chapter 389

Chapter 389

Joseph sat down and said with a smile, "Yeah I do!"

"Which family is she from? With your looks, your girlfriend must be as beautiful as a model, right?"

"Yes! She's very beautiful." He nodded.

When Hayden heard them talk about Paige, he felt uncomfortable. Wasn't this taboo?

He was against their relationship, so he was frustrated upon hearing this conversation.

In order to prevent the conversation from continuing, he coughed and raised his glass.

"Gavin, it's rare for you to come to B City, so stay a little longer. I'll free my schedule to show you around!"

"Okay, sounds good!" He said with a smile.

It was obvious from Hayden's expression that he didn't like Paige. With that, Gavin felt that Hayden was crossing a line.

Even though he was also against Joseph and Paige's relationship, he was annoyed when he realized that Hayden despised his granddaughter. He should be looking down on Joseph, an ignorant and incompetent boy who didn't deserve to be with his granddaughter!

They soon changed the topic and started eating. The mood became happy again.

After dinner, Gavin had drunk too much, and he went back to his room to rest. Before that, he made an appointment with Hayden to visit the tourist areas in B City.

Not long after he returned to the room, someone knocked on his door. Arthur opened the door, and Lamont came in. When Arthur saw Lamont, he smiled and said, "Sir Gavin has been waiting for you for a long time. Please come in!"

Lamont nodded and strode into the room. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Gavin was lying on the sofa and waved his hand to ask Lamont to take a seat. "Sit down!"

"Why did you ask to see me? Is it something urgent?" He asked as he sat down.

"Yes, I'm here for Paige," Gavin looked at him. "Does Archer know Paige's true identity?"

"He doesn't know!" He answered.

"Apart from you, who else knows about her identity?" Gavin asked again.

"Lucian and Braelynn know about it. There shouldn't be anyone else other than them."

"That's good. The fewer people know about this, the better. I'll get straight to the point. I don't want to see her with Joseph. And I'm guessing that you don't want to see that either, do you? So I'm here today because I want you to separate them!"

"I tried, but it was difficult. Miss Anderson doesn't listen to me. Mr. Dawson has helped her countless

times, and he's her friend and lover. It's not easy to break them apart."

"I know it's not. Otherwise, I wouldn't have come here in person. This is what I'm thinking. Since this is all the Dawson family's fault, they should take care of it. You don't have to personally convince Paige to break up with Joseph. All you have to do is to see Hayden!"

"I don't think seeing Hayden would be much help, right? If it was beneficial, then he would have broken them apart by now, unless we tell him her true identity."

"We can't tell anyone about her identity. Hayden and Savannah are a family, so he would definitely tell her. If she finds out that Paige is part of the Saunders family, she will definitely attack Paige. Although we can recruit bodyguards for Paige, accidents still happen, and I don't want that!"

"Do you think that Sir Archer would accept Paige as his daughter?"

"Well, he has to but not now. Let's settle the matter with Joseph first." Gavin said with a cold laugh.

"Don't think that Hayden doesn't have a solution. He'll definitely find a way to solve this! We're going to force him to tell the truth to Paige. If she finds out that her mother murdered Joseph's mother, will she still stay with him? No, right? So, you have to make Hayden inform Paige of this incident as soon as possible."

"Would he tell her about it? If he wanted to, he would've done so a long time ago, right?"

"That's because he hasn't reached that stage yet. No matter what, Joseph is the child of the woman he loved the most. He wouldn't want Joseph to hate him. However, I don't care about how Joseph feels. I only care about how my granddaughter feels, so no matter what method you use, you must convince

Hayden to tell Paige."

Lamont was silent for a moment before nodding. "I understand. Miss Anderson is already discussing marriage with Sir Joseph. I'll use this to force Hayden to comply."

Gavin was relieved. "That's good. By the way, I want to see Paige. Can you give me a chance to see her in person? It doesn't have to be formal, I just want to see her."

After leaving the Wolf Group, Hayden sat in the car with furrowed brows. Lucas, who was driving, could tell from his expression that he had something on his mind.

The car stopped in front of the Dawson family's old estate, and they got out of the car to enter the living room as a maid brought him a cup of tea. He took a sip of the tea and asked, "Why do you think Gavin is here?"

"Because of Paxton?" Lucas guessed.

"Paxton is a nobody. He's definitely not comparable to Declan, but Gavin didn't even care about what happened to Declan, so why would he personally come here for Paxton?" Hayden shook his head. "There must be something else!"

As he spoke, his phone rang and it was Savannah who called him. Hayden looked at the phone and laughed harshly. "How rare… She finally called me! This probably has something to do with Gavin's visit, right? Let me see what she's up to."

As he spoke, he picked up the call. "Hello?"

"Dad, are you alright?" She began to ask about his wellbeing the moment he picked up. "I got someone to buy some bird's nest and ginseng for you. Remember to eat it every day."

There wasn't the slightest hint of emotion on his face. "Did you call me just to tell me this?"

She replied awkwardly, "Apart from that, I'd like to ask you to do me a favor."

"Haha!" He laughed coldly.

"Favor? What do you want me to do? Listen, I don't care about anything anymore, so I can't help you."

Hayden clearly told her that he wasn't willing to help, but Savannah didn't give up.

"Dad, it's related to Declan. Raelyn begged me for this. She wants Declan's death penalty to be lightened. I’ll pay for the cost, okay?"

"Money is not the issue," Hayden sneered.

"Use your brain. If Raelyn has gone out of her way to ask you for help, that means that it's basically an impossible task. The Saunders' family should have more influence than us, so why did she beg you instead of her brother or father?"

Savannah ignored his attitude. "Dad, you also know how awkward Archer and Raelyn are with each other. She came to me because it was her last resort! Dad, just help Raelyn for my sake, please?"

"I can't do anything about it!" He refused mercilessly.

"Dad, can you help me? I beg you!"

"You're begging me?" He chuckled. "Did you forget what you promised me twenty years ago when you were begging me to let you marry Archer?"
