Chapter Eleven
Alessandro
Immediately the doorknob was twisted, and I instantly felt Dante stirred restlessly within me. Though I couldn’t deny that I haven’t been myself lately, well, especially this morning. It feels like I am closer to something but that……. Is what I have no idea about and it has been weighing down on me.
Feeling all antsy, I quickly stood up from my chair and headed over to the window. Luca could sense that something was up, but he didn’t dare ask due to the murderous aura creaking around me so instead he kept giving me these skeptical looks.
Sliding my hand inside my right-sided button, I pulled out a cigarette and lit it up. I had barely puffed out a smoke when the door was pushed open and Marco walked up to me. “She is here?” He announced, and I felt Dante stirring restlessly within. Nodding, I turned to see the person when suddenly an intoxicating smell hit my nostrils.
It was a captivating scent, a delicate blend of the refreshing ocean breeze and the earthy aroma of dust. Hmmm…… I inhaled it sharply and quickly turned around, eager to discover the source. And strangely my eyes widened as they dawned on the feminine figure kneeling in front of me. Her long, flowing blond hair with deep curls at the end had a certain familiarity, despite its tattered and dirtied appearance. It reminded me of someone.
I furrowed my brow, trying to recall who she reminded me of. Her oval face and distinctive ears caught my attention, but it was her delicate, bony nose that gave me a sense of unease. She looks like the exact woman from my dream, they both possess the same appearance, I was still deep in thought when suddenly, it hit me like a ton of bricks. She was the exact woman from my dream! And if she is the same woman from my dream, that means she is… My mate!! How ridiculous.
At that moment, my eyes widened with anger, frustration, and disgust. “I can’t possibly be mated to those dogs!!” I snapped inwardly.
I glared at her, indirectly waiting for her to whisper out that word. “MATE!” But she remained mute, only fear and shock were swirling at the depth of her eyes. “Is she the one?” I asked, scanning her and Marco nodded in response.
“What happened to her wolf?” I asked him in a muffled voice, my gaze not tearing away from her. “It has been suppressed,” he replied in a hast.
I nodded, heaving out a sigh of relief. At least no one will know that we are mates!!! This nonsense has never been heard about dogs and us vampires being tangled as one soul….. Is this a sign of punishment from the moon goddess for my atrocities? Suddenly I felt anger coursing through me like molten lava. Clenching out my fists in anger, I snapped at her.
“Where is the hidden spot in your pack?!”
She swallowed hard, giving me a puzzled look. She is just mopping at me like a coward….. hmm!
“I asked again, tell me where is Matteo Salvatore, and his pack members hidden?” I repeat my questions, something that I haven’t done before.
Everyone gave me a dazzled look, but a smile curled up my lips when I noticed that she had grabbed my question. But not too fast the smile faded away and the skin in between my forehead wrinkled in confusion when I heard her let out a slight chuckle.
“You can kill me, I’m not saying anything,”This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Everyone gasped in shock, including me but I was fast to conceal my expression. Anger dripped through my veins, nobody had ever spoken back to me and this little dog seemed too courageous. I smiled deadly looking into her emotionless face, despite how long I stared I couldn’t quite read what was going through those little heads of hers.
Does she even know that angering me means instant death? I felt Luca shaking his head at her, indirectly whispering to her to speak up.
Chuckling, I gave her a fierce look before striding toward my desk. The sound of my shoe against the cold titles re-echoing in the quiet room. I stopped in front of my desk, “I don’t normally do this,” I went silent for a while before resuming with my words. “But I will give you five seconds to speak up or you die and guess what even after your death, I will still find out. So it is left for you to be smart,”
The weight of my threat fills the room, sending a dangerous signal. I smirked, leaning back as I took the cigarette from my lips. Exhaling the smoke, I slowly tapped the tip into the ashtray on my desk repeatedly while waiting for her to speak up.
“Come on, speak up,” Lucas suddenly blurted. I still don’t know why he is lenient with her, this is a God-forsaking dog! Our lifetime sworn enemies. I snapped my head in his direction, shooting him a fierce glare, as I shut him up instantly.
“Three more seconds and you will be wiped out of this planet,” I threatened seeing the fear in her eyes but yet she couldn’t say anything. It was as if she was contemplating within herself. Signing, I groaned out in frustration. Since I found out that she was our mate, Dante has been strangely silent. I think he is also surprised, stunned, and disappointed. Over thousands of years of our living was a total waste if the moon goddess could offer a mere dog to us as mates!
“One second!” I said, circling the cigarette inside around the ashtray with my hand. Lucas and everyone were frowning at her, surprised at her unmoved nerves.
And I swear she is slowly getting on my nerves, but looking at those captivating eyes of hers held hesitation. I struggled to know what was stopping her from spilling the information. I stared into those eyes of hers which looked like sparkling sapphires, captivating and full of depth. They held a mesmerizing allure that drew one in, leaving you spellbound.
“Hmmm……” Marco’s cough snapped me back to my senses.
“Kill her,” I hastily let out a command after waiting for her with no response. I quickly turned around and slowly lit up another cigarette not caring what my men do with her.
