Where Are They?
Chapter 48 Where Are They?
Ramos entered the prison where he held Carlos captive. He wasn’t looking happy considering the fact that he must have known that Carlos family had escaped his hands.
“Where are they? Where did you send your family to?” he asked Carlos, his tone angry.
“I don’t know what you are talking about Ramos. You and I know that I have been here for the past four days under your captivity without any means of reaching my family.
Is my family alright, Ramos? You had promised that if I share any information, you would keep my family safe. So nothing and I mean nothing must happen to my family or else I would never reveal anything to you.” Carlos said.
“I like the game you are playing Carlos, but let me warn you that my patience is wearing thin and you and I know that you don’t want to try my patience.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
So Talk!” he ordered Carlos.
“I don’t know what you are talking about Ramos. I have been in this cell for four days without any means of communication to the outside world.” He said.
Ramos face was filled with so much anger that he opened the cage and dragged Carlos out of the cell and instructed his men to beat him.
“Men, beat him. I guess he needs more persuasion.” Ramos ordered.
The men hesitated for a moment, but then they obeyed Ramos’s order. They grabbed Carlos and started punching and kicking him, while Ramos stood by and watched with a cold look on his face. Carlos struggled and tried to fight back, but he was outnumbered.
“You will tell me what I want or else you might never get to see your family again.” Ramos threatened.
“I have told you many times, but I guess…. you find it difficult to believe people….. I don’t know…where my family is….” Carlos said.
But Ramos just smiled, a cold and cruel smile. “You’re a liar,” he said. “I can see it in your eyes. You know where your family is, and you’re not going to tell me. So I’ll have to find another way to make you talk.”
Then, he turned to one of his men and said, “Get the cattle prod.”
Carlos heart sank with fear. He knew what a cattle prod was – a device used to shock animals with electricity, causing intense pain.
But he still had to be brave for his family.
“You see Carlos, I don’t believe anyone, but I believe so much in torturing people to bring out the truth. So if you think you can endure my tortures, you are wrong.
I will continue until you surrender to me and tell me what I want to hear.” Ramos threatened.
“And I have told you many times, I don’t know where my family is.” Carlos said.
“We’ll see about that.” Ramos said.
Ramos could tell by the look on Carlos’s face that he was terrified, but he was still trying to be brave.
Ramos turned to his mean. “I said get the cattle prod.” he said again. “I want this over with.”
“I want to see how long you can endure pains Carlos.”
As Carlos heard those words, his heart sank. He was sure he wouldn’t be able to endure much pain, and the thought of going through such torture made him sick to his stomach.
Ramos men brought the Cattle pod and Ramos ordered his men to use it on Carlos.
“I have told you I don’t know where my family is.” Carlos said.
“Use it on him!” Ramos ordered, his tone angry.
They used it on him, but still Carlos refused to talk.
“You are going to tell me what I want to know Carlos.” Ramos said.
“Ahhhh! I…. don’t … know….” Carlos said, pain evident in his voice.
“Don’t lie to me,” Ramos snarled, and he stepped closer to Carlos. “You’re hiding something, and I’m going to find out what it is. If you don’t talk, I’ll just have to make you talk.”
As he spoke, his eyes filled with rage, and Carlos felt a wave of panic wash over him. He knew what this meant – Ramos was never going to stop to try to force the truth out of him. But Carlos was determined not to give in.
“Tell me! How did the Sanchez brothers know where your family is? Because I know that you and I are the only one who knew where they were.
So no one except you and me could reveal their location. So you must have gotten help from someone right here in my house and I’m going to find out who.” Ramos said.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” Carlos said.
“No one and I repeat no one is working for me here…. I have been locked in here for days without food or water and no visitors.
