Getting Impressed
Chapter 30 Getting Impressed
With a deep breath, Raven steeled her resolve. She knew what she had to do – she had to be fearless and decisive, no matter what. The fate of her father depended on it.
She nodded, determined. “Alright,” she said. “I’ll do it. I’ll send you the details of their new drug location.” Perhaps when you see the information, you’ll believe me.”
She typed out a message, sending it to Ramos. As she hit send, she felt a surge of adrenaline rush through her body. She’d done it – she’d taken the first step towards earning Ramos’s trust.
A few moments later, Ramos’s phone buzzed with a new message. He opened it and read the information that Raven had sent him. His eyes widened as he realized what she’d given him – this was exactly the kind of information he’d been looking for.
It would be extremely valuable in helping him take down the Sanchez brothers once and for all.
A smile crossed his face as he looked up at Raven. “You’ve impressed me,” he said. “You’ve taken a big risk, and I appreciate that. I think we can work together.”
“I’m not that thrilled to hear that. I don’t want to work for you. I’m only doing this to save my fathers life. So I do my part, and you asshole do yours.” Raven said.
She was one step closer to her goal, and it felt like a huge accomplishment. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to help you,” she said. “Just let me know what you need.”
Ramos nodded. “I appreciate that,” he said.
“But I want to make one thing clear. This is a partnership, and not a friendship business.” Raven said.
“I understand that,” Ramos said, his voice steady and sure. “I know this is business, not personal. Well a little personal since you’re working for me to save your darling precious father.”
Raven clenched her fist wishing if she was face to face with him, she would have punched him for making that statement.
Raven ended the phone conversation.
“Do you think she is saying the truth, sir? Can we trust whatever she says for she might be working alongside the Sanchez brothers and it could be a trap, sir?” One of his men asked.
“I don’t trust the bitch, but I want to end those boys badly so I just have to trust her words,” Ramos said.
Just then his phone beeps and as he checked the message, it contains the location of one of the Sanchez brother’s drugs warehouse.
“She may be working alongside them, but she won’t double-cross me when she knows I have her father in my custody. She knows that one stupid decision to betray me, I won’t hesitate to kill her father.” Ramos said.
“But what if she’s playing the long game?” said the man. “What if she’s slowly gaining your trust in order to betray you in the future? What if this is all part of a bigger plan? You have to be careful, sir. You can’t trust her.”
“I understand your concern,” said Ramos. “But I have to take risks in order to bring down those bastard Sanchez brothers. We have to play her game if we want to win.
“With all due respect, sir, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” the man said. “You’re putting too much faith in someone who’s not trustworthy. You could be opening yourself up to a huge betrayal. It’s not worth the risk.”
“I appreciate your concern,” said Ramos. “But I’m the boss, and I make the decisions. We’re going to do this my way, whether you like it or not. If you can’t accept that, then you can go fuck yourself you hear me?”
The man hesitated for a moment, clearly weighing his options. Finally, he spoke. “I understand, sir,” he said. “I’ll follow your orders, even if I don’t agree with them. I won’t let you down.”
“I don’t care what you think. I don’t trust her as well, but I need something I can use to get those guys. So Let’s get to work.
“Raven sent a location where they are moving a lot of drugs. So what you need to do is get some of my men and check out the area, see if her information is true, and after confirmation, you guys move in and kill every man standing and then move those drugs to my warehouse. Is that clear?” Ramos ordered.
“Yes sir. We’ll do what you’ve asked.” The man said.
“She wants to help us… I will use her to end those brothers and then force her to be my wife. After all, she would have been if it wasn’t for those Sanchez brothers who destroyed and killed my men on my wedding day with her.”Ramos said.
Meanwhile after Raven had called Ramos, Alfredo was right beside her listening to their conversation. After she dropped the call she looked at Alfredo who smiled at her.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
