Chapter 2922
If Nolan was really that smitten with Regina, Imogen might as well have kept her hands to herself. After all, her family could still reap a fair share of benefits from Nolan’s deep pockets.
But Madeline had a point. There she was, all on her own-how was she supposed to kidnap Regina under these circumstances?>
It seemed like her pregnancy was making her overthink everything. Imogen placed a comforting hand over her chest as she tried to calm down.
On the other side of town, Madeline’s demeanor changed as soon as she hung up the phone. She walked over to Domingo with a spring in her step.
“My mom just called. You heard her attitude loud and clear. She doesn’t want anything to do with you right now. Once you get this mess sorted, I’ll try to arrange a meeting between you two. But for now, I need to head home.”
Domingo nodded eagerly and said, “I know I let you and Imogen down in the past. Alright, sweetheart, off you go. I won’t let you down this time. And those people won’t get anywhere near you.”
Madeline bristled at being called “sweetheart” but knew she needed his help right now, so she bit her tongue.
On her way back home, Madeline’s mood remained buoyant. She knew that Regina was in trouble, although they were still piecing together who was behind it.
“Regina, Regina, all your bravado and yet you’ve ended up right where I want you. This time, I’m not letting you walk away alive!”
Even under the bright sun, Madeline’s sinister expression could send shivers down anyone’s spine. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Sometimes, even Imogen couldn’t fathom why her daughter harbored such resentment towards Regina.
Nolan was the first to arrive at the scene, and the sight of shattered car windows chilled him to the bone.
A closer inspection revealed that aside from Regina’s cell phone, the assailants hadn’t touched anything else in the car, not even her purse. If it wasn’t for money, then it had to be something else.
Nolan didn’t want to assume the worst.
The fact that they took Regina’s phone meant they had some leverage.
Who would they contact? Surely not Francis.
Francis initially thought Nolan was overreacting. But, arriving at the chaotic scene, he was too shocked to speak.
After circling the car twice, he pointed to the broken window and asked, “Is this the work of some mob? How dare they take my daughter in broad daylight? What on earth do they want?”
Nolan coolly flipped his eyelid and without answering, walked aside to call a friend.
“Yes, I need to check all the surveillance footage on this street from 5:10 to 5:40 PM. My wife is in trouble, and we need to act fast. I’m willing to pay whatever it takes!”
Hearing Nolan refer to Regina as his wife made Francis realize just how important Regina was to this man. It seemed his bet was right; Nolan had truly fallen for his daughter.
But as he thought of his missing daughter, panic set in.
How was he going to explain this to Nolan? And how would he face his late wife if something happened to Regina?
“Oh Magina, if you’re watching over us, please keep our daughter safe!”
Nolan was not one to sit idly by. He immediately contacted the police and reported everything about the situation.
