The Invincible Arthur Gardner

Chapter 84 - The Secret of Two Lovers

Chapter 84 - The Secret of Two Lovers

Cosmo, a thirty-something man, stepped out of his vibrant red sports car. He had a t-shirt on, a pair of

training pants, and a pair of glasses perched atop his face. His gaze shifted to a nearby luxury vehicle,

and he uttered a soft whistle of appreciation as he walked closer.

"Phew… Is this a Roll-Royce Silver Shadow II?"

Being a car enthusiast, he quickly recognized the car. He took a few steps closer, examining it with

admiration, and said with awe, "This is a car that only ten units exist in the world."

Someone opened the car window, and Cosmo recognized Benno right away.

"Huh?! Benno? Is that really you?!" he exclaimed in disbelief, as he hadn't expected to see Benno in

that place.

"Yes," Benno replied, his voice urgent. "Please get away from here immediately. You're acting very

strangely just standing here watching this car like this." With that, he closed the window again.

Cosmo looked surprised and said, "If he really is Benno, then I'm not surprised this car belongs to him.

But..." He paused, appearing perplexed.

"Why's Benno sitting in the driver's seat?" He pondered for a moment before concluding, "Maybe

because he's a professional racer, he doesn't want anyone else driving for him."

Cosmo was the owner of the building and shooting range, which he usually visited on weekends to

relax and warm up with the sport.

However, something was off today; the building was unusually quiet. Puzzled, he asked himself, "What

happened? And why is Benno here? Has he retired from auto racing and come to rival me in

shooting?"

Cosmo, a professional shooting athlete who has won various national championships and participated

in international competitions on multiple occasions, has built this place out of his love for the sport.

He then entered the control room, which was equipped with multiple large screens displaying the

statuses of various practice rooms. Upon seeing Cosmo, the employees in the room greeted him.

"Good morning, boss!"

Cosmo stepped up and sat on a chair. He was watching the screen where a man and a woman were

practicing with the two of them alone.

"What is this?" he asked, pointing at the screen. "Why is this place so quiet, and why are there just the

two of them?"

An employee then replied, "Ah... that man rented this place entirely for today, boss."

Cosmo was shocked to hear those words. He gulped and asked incredulously, "Are you guys kidding

me?"

Cosmo was shocked to realize how expensive it was for one person to rent the place and for the whole

day at that.

“Did I hear that right? Is that person really renting it?” he asked in disbelief, leaning closer to the

screen.

“Try zooming in on the image,” he said.

The screen zoomed in, showing Arthur and Alicia's faces crystal clear. Cosmo immediately gulped, his

eyes widening.

“Oh! Could this be the rich man who arrived earlier in the luxury car?!” he thought to himself.

Cosmo studied Arthur's face, trying to recognize him but couldn't recall anything.

“Wait a second... Wasn't the luxury car earlier owned by Benno? Is this man a friend of Benno's? Or

could he be his personal driver? Why is Benno in the driver's seat?” he thought to himself.

Then, Cosmo's gaze fell upon Alicia's face on the screen. He was mesmerized by her beauty, even

though she looked very young, likely no older than twenty.

“Wow, she looks so beautiful. I think she must have some Asian ancestry,” he thought.

Cosmo glanced at Alicia's face again from the screen and smiled to himself as he noticed she was

playfully jesting with Arthur, not taking her shooting practice seriously.

“What are they actually doing?” he asked, turning to his men.

His four subordinates all looked perplexed, one of them finally uttering, "Hmm..." After a pause, another

offered an explanation. "Ah boss, that guy said he doesn't need a trainer, he's just renting the space."

“What?!” Cosmo exclaimed in shock, his eyes widening. “Are you serious? Why rent this place if they

need no trainer for them? Do you think they are professional athletes that don't need it?”

He regarded Arthur's behavior for a moment and then tried to deduce a logical reason why he hadn't

asked for a trainer's company.

"Is it possible.....," he began slowly, “that he purposely rented this place to be alone with that young

girl? I've never seen them around here before. And they obviously aren't athletes, which makes me

suspicious. He rented the place on his own, and didn't expect anyone else to show up. What other

reason could there be, if it's not because he wanted to keep his affair hidden?”

Cosmo then turned to his men for approval. "Don't you agree? Isn't that right?"

His subordinates were stunned by his statement but remained silent.

"Ah, you guys are not too bright, don't you understand?"

Cosmo then looked back at Alicia and was in awe of her beauty.

"You know, if I were still single, I might consider finding someone like her to be my wife. Hehehe..."

Then, shifting his gaze back to his men with a stern look, he exclaimed, "Don't you dare tell my wife

about this!"

The men responded quickly. "Yes, boss."

He then continued, "He rented the place on his own and didn't expect anyone else to show up. What

other reason could there be, if it's not because he wanted to keep his affair hidden?"

"What an odd choice to have an affair in a place like this," Cosmo remarked, still watching the big

screen in front of him. “Why not a golf course, or a hotel? I'm sure he's rich enough to afford a hotel.

Hehehe," he added, picturing the various possibilities in his imagination.

Turning towards his men, Cosmo spoke again, "That girl is really pretty, isn't she?"

His men nodded in agreement. "Yes, boss, we agree," they replied.

Cosmo, a professional athlete skilled at shooting, felt curious to discover the man's intentions for

coming there. Standing up, he declared, "I will meet them both."

"Boss!" His men called after him.

He turned around and questioned, "What?"

"They don't want to be disturbed," they reminded him.

Cosmo hummed thoughtfully, appearing to be deep in thought again. "It appears that the man's motive

for engaging with the girl was merely to have a brief affair without his wife discovering. Perhaps he

believed coming to a place like this would help him accomplish his goal."

He nodded firmly in agreement with his astute deduction. "Hmm...so they think they can get away with

it here?" he tutted disapprovingly.

He confidently strode out to Arthur's training ground and, with a satisfied smirk, opened the door. He

felt like the undisputed master of the place.

As he walked in, he noticed Arthur and Alicia were standing close together, with Arthur standing behind

Alicia. He could tell by the way Arthur was smiling and the mischievous glint in his eye that he was

teasing the girl.

"Ch, they sure look like they're having an affair," he thought to himself.

"Excuse, sir," Cosmo said aloud, awaiting a response.

After some time, it became apparent that Arthur had no affection for Cosmo whatsoever. Arthur then

stepped up behind Alicia and adjusted the position of her hands.

"You have to do it like this," Arthur said, offering her a few words of guidance. "Focus your eyes."

"Yes, Oppa. I understand, you don't have to go into such detail," Alicia replied.

"Why do your hands look like they're shaking Alicia?" Arthur asked, concerned.

Alicia then turned to Arthur and giggled. "That's because you stand too close to me, Oppa." she

answered, playfully teasing him.

"Oh, I see," Arthur replied with a smile. "Alright, I'll take a step back."

Cosmo clenched his fists and snapped his fingers, his nerves clearly visible on his face. Irritated at

being ignored, Cosmo spoke up. "Excuse me sir," he said.

At the sound of his voice, Arthur finally turned to Cosmo. He wondered who it was, as he had

requested that no one interferes with their training. Who was this mysterious man that had suddenly

entered? Was he a trainer or someone who also wanted to use the training ground?

"Ah, sorry," Arthur began, his voice casual. "I've rented this building until the afternoon. If you want to

use another room for your own training, you don't need to pay for it since I've already taken care of

that.” With that, he returned his focus to Alicia and their training.

"Seriously?!" Cosmo thought incredulously as Arthur seemed to be oblivious to him. "Is it true he

doesn't recognize me? This is an absolute insult." He said again, "Ah... hmmm... yes, my name is

Cosmo."

But Arthur replied casually, "Nice to meet you, Cosmo. Can you please come out? I'm busy."

Cosmo's irritation grew, feeling that Arthur was deliberately ignoring him even after he had told him his

name. "Ah. Mister, ahm… I own this place."

Arthur looked at Cosmo again, and his face softened. "Oh really? Nice to meet you again. Thanks for

renting this place to me."

"Do you need my help to become a trainer?" Cosmo asked, trying to maintain his self-esteem, "This is

a very rare opportunity to get direct training from professional athletes, right?". He added, hopeful for a

positive response.

Arthur, however, replied without even looking at him, "Ah, no… I can do it myself."

'Did he really not recognize me?' Cosmo pondered aloud, trying desperately to figure out a way to

make himself more recognizable to the people in front of him.

'Or is he just trying to look cool in front of this beautiful girl?' he asked himself.

'I have to do something,' he continued, his determination evident. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
