The Diary Of My Dead Wife

Chapter 17: Heartache almost made him die!

Chapter 17: Heartache almost made him die!

Edith revealed everything.

She couldn't take all the hatred and frustration she had been keeping in her heart for so many years.

When Zac heard this, his face became colder.

"Finally! You admit the truth, Edith! I really regret that I stupidly let myself be played by a woman like you! Three years ago, you put a drug on Sophie and my wine, didn't you? You also deliberately brought people to witness us, and made them believe that we cheated on you. Then you pretended to be heartbroken and created a car accident to fabricate your death.I felt guilty of your fake death, that I put all the blame on Sophie and hurt her all the time! You are as venomous as snake and scorpions! I also hate myself! If I just killed you earlier, you shouldn't have had the chance to hurt her again and again and I wouldn't have lost her!"

He shouted.

He added the force on his hands, and strangled Edith's neck.

Edith struggled desperately, but her strength was nothing compared to Zac.

"No...no! It wasn't my idea.It was my father who planned everything three years ago and it had nothing to do with me! Please let me go, please! I'll tell you all the truth!"

She was almost out of breath.

Luckily, Zac loosened his grip a little.

She breathed some air first, before she started telling him all the truth.

Way back then, Robert heard about the curse of Madden that the first original wife of a Madden man would die. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

He didn't believe it at first, but later on, he found out that many people in the circle knew it.

And indeed, starting from Zac's great grandfather, the first wives of their men all died unexpectedly at a young age.

Although the cause of their death was different, most people believed that it was the Madden ancestors who did something wicked and cursed them.

Robert loved her daughter, Edith, so much.

He would rather believe the curse to be safe than lose his precious daughter, and regret in the end.

Of course, he couldn't let his precious daughter, Edith, die, but he couldn't also give up this opportunity to have ties with the Madden family.

He could already imagine the huge benefits he could get if his daughter would be married to the Maddens.

For him, the marriage must still be held, but he couldn't risk Edith.

So, he thought of another way.

And that's how everything started.

Robert set up Sophie and Zac to wake up in the same bed, and then created a fake car accident for Edith, which made Zac feel guilty.

In this way, if the curse was true and Sophie died, Edith could use the excuse of amnesia in a car accident when she came back.

If Zac asked how she survived, she could just say that she was rescued, and just recently regained her memory.

Then, the position of Madden housewife will finally be hers.

However, if the curse is not real, and Sophie remained alive, she would still be the original wife.

But it didn't matter because when Edith came back, Zac would definitely abandon Sophie and marry her right away.

In this way, Robert was hitting two birds with one stone.

He can free his beloved daughter from the curse, and his family can maintain ties with the Madden family by using Sophie, the daughter he loathed.

Robert calculated everything, but he didn't expect that Zac would fall in love with Sophie, which made him lose his own game.

It was the first time that Zac heard this rumor.

It was also true that the first wives of all the men in their family, starting with his great grandfather, died earlier, but he always thought that the cause was normal.

He couldn't believe that the Williams family harmed Sophie because of such a nonsense reason.

"You!"

Zac's eyes turned red.

He quickly tightened his hands on her neck, causing her to close her eyes.

"N-no it's n not really me, it's my f-father.’ Edith was having a hard time finishing her words.

‘‘If you want to kill her, you should also kill her father! She's innocent, and a victim too!’’ Zac heard something whispered at the back of his mind.

Upon realization, Zac became furious.

His blood was boiling out of so much anger.

‘‘I'm going to kill her! I’m going to kill all the Williams family!’’ he thought angrily.

He thought about thousands of reasons behind it, but he couldn't find something reasonable.

What the Williams family did was really unacceptable.

Greediness really made people do bad things.

Suddenly, Zac felt a pang in his chest, and before he could even react, his body fell on the ground.

He was sweating heavily, and the veins in his forehead started to be visible.

He was also having a hard time breathing.

Edith was saved from death.

She looked at Zac, who suddenly fell into the ground, and screamed wildly in fear when she noticed that he was almost out of breath.
