Chapter 5: Where no one can find us
When I finally reached the cottage I fumbled with the key around my neck, almost screaming out in frustration when I realised that my hands were shaking and the key refused to fit in. I've never been so desperate for someone's presence as I currently longed for his, and meanwhile, demons in my head painted cursed images of him torn apart, lifeless or simply not there. What if it had taken him instead? What if the beast hadn't retreated but instead waited in the woods when it lay its eyes upon Nathan who was waiting for me?
I shook the thoughts away.
When I finally unlocked the door, I slammed it open and yelled out his name.
"Nathan?" My voice was on the edge of desperation and the silence in my ear was deafening. "Nathan!" I called again and this time I heard shuffling from the loft.
"Liliana?" I looked up to see his blue eyes look down at me, a little drowsy with sleep but clearing up immediately. "Liliana!"
He almost jumped down the distance between the loft and the ground, only a step on the ladder to lighten the fall.
Before I could process what was happening his arms were around me, and I finally felt the relief wash over me as I realised that he was okay. That he was more than okay actually, that he was safe.
"You weren't here and I started imagining the worst and..." He started rambling in my ear, voicing his concern between kisses and holding my body as if it had been years instead of hours since we last saw each other. I had barely had the time to get over my relief before he pushed me away to examine and search for any wounds or signs of danger, and while his expression revealed that he was satisfied with what he saw, his eyes met mine with a hint of scepticism.
"I'm okay," I assured him the best I could even with my voice shaking uncontrollably. "I promise, but my father..." The words were barely audible. "My father is marrying me to another man." Nathan's expression got stone cold. "Nathan, I don't... I don't want him. I don't want to marry him..."
By now my words were nothing more than mutters as I clunged to Nathan's chest and buried my face into his collarbone, allowing his scent to wrap around me like a comforting blanket. His arms were wrapped tightly around my body, holding me close as he let me pour out whatever emotions were overwhelming me until there was nothing left but the sound of my sniffling and my shivering body against his.
"Liliana, are you sure?" Nathan finally asked. "Are you sure that you don't want to marry him?"
I reared back and almost lost my balance in the process. "Of course, I'm sure," I didn't mean for my voice to sound so hurt when I voiced my response. "How can you?... I don't want to marry him. Not for him or the life he's offering. I don't want to be stuck with someone I don't even know while also being forced to be someone I'm not." I met Nathan's eyes. "I won't be able to do it, I'll rather die."
Nathan took my hands and held them close to his chest. "Marry me?"
I wasn't sure if I'd heard right, but Nathan just continued.
"I cannot offer you the freedom you want, the same way I'm not allowed to have my own, but I can protect you and give you a life better than this. And we can still have these stolen moments away from everyone else where you can be whoever you wish to be. But every other moment, be my wife Liliana Devalia, marry me and be my wife the way I'll be your husband."
It took me several moments before I even knew what to say, and even more to be able to voice them. My heart was soaring at its finest, screaming to every cell for me to accept something I thought I'd never be able to have. It ached for every beating moment I hadn't said yes, but I had never had the luxury of only following my heart.
"But your parents..." My traitorous mind spoke. "They'll disapprove. I'm not of the ideal class."
"My parents will not be able to do a thing if the bond has already been sealed," Nathan explained, jaw tight with determination. "I'll find someone that'll wed us, and they know nothing of it until it's too late."
"They'll punish you," I whispered, my mind still not comprehending the conversation he was having.
"I am their only son," Nathan said. "They will not do anything permanent." Then he hesitated a bit as his eyes studied me. "If you don't want to, say that instead Liliana, because if you accept, whatever possible obstacle you can come up with in that brilliant mind of yours will be handled with my bare hands if necessary. I am willing to break every law for you, but I won't if it's not to your desire."

"No!" I said hastily and realised how wrong it sounded when Nathan's face fell. "Yes, yes I'll marry you, Nathan. Of course, I'll marry you."
When the words were finally uttered, it felt like the heavy weights on my shoulders had finally been taken off, and I was finally allowed to fly again. Nathan's expression reflected mine, bright and hopeful and his lips found mine before I could say it again, before I could accept his proposal over and over again until my tongue got tired of it. This kiss was like the first one we had, igniting and thrilling, like another secret that only we knew.
"Will you really?" He asked again when we pulled apart, eyes wide and searching. "Will you really marry me?"
I could only grin as I answered. "Yes, Nathan, I'll really marry you."
Something in his expression softened, and before I could foresee what was happening, my feet were off the ground and he was carrying me inside. Sensing where this was going, I wrapped my arms around his neck and placed my lips on his, responding to his gentle touches with a gasp that allowed his tongue entrance to explore my mouth.
"Nathan," His name came out in a whisper as my back hit the ladder that led to the loft.
He pulled back for a moment and tilted his head.
"Do you want me to stop?" He asked, his voice lower than usual.
"No," I shook my head and took his face between my hands. "No, I just... We should climb up before one of us breaks a leg falling down the ladder."NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
He let out a sound that could only be a mix between a chuckle and a humph, the softest smile still plastered on his face. We climbed up the ladder as we said, both of us grinning like idiots because we were about to get married, because after about a year since that first kiss, we were finally engaged and I had never felt such excitement.

As soon as we both reached the top, Nathan pressed my back against the soft material that was laid out on the floor and his lips were back on mine, my senses only heightening by the touch of his hands roaming my body. "Nathan," I groaned when he finally started moving downwards, placing kisses on my neck and on the more sensitive spots near my jaw.
"You're wonderful," He said between kisses, unlacing the strings that held together my rather plainly made dress and allowing the chilly air to take a hold of my bare skin.
I clung to his hair as he moved further down to my breast, dragging my dress lower and lower until it served no more purpose than a simple skirt. A moan rippled through my throat when he started sucking on my breast, his free hand massaging the other. I wrapped my legs around his waist and tried to focus on my breathing, but it was hard when the feeling of his wet warm tongue caressed my nipple. "You're everything," He said when he pulled away, his eyes studying my naked upper half with hunger, pupils blown wide with lust.
Without a further warning, he grabbed the ends of my clothes and pulled them down and off my body, taking my undergarments and everything else with him in one smooth move. By now my vagina was already wet, and my mind was far too aroused to think of anything but the longing for him inside me. Still, he took his time. He used two fingers to lightly massage my clit while he started sucking the skin around my thighs, leaving marks that were only for him and me to see. As the sensation built up, I could hear myself groaning and whimpering under his touch, a gasp escaping when his finger finally entered the hole. Nathan was quick to set up a pace, quick to chase whatever pleasure he could give me and alternate techniques depending on what my sounds revealed. Soon, he had two fingers in me, scissoring and curling until it hit a spot that caused my back to arch in pleasure. "Nathan," I managed to say as I gasped. "You... I..."
As if he understood immediately, he withdrew his fingers, drawing an involuntary whimper from my lips.
He quickly undressed, disregarding his shirt and his pants to wherever he'd thrown my clothes before and releasing his fully hard cock for my eyes to see the pre-come leaking from its head. As he crawled up to me, lining our bodies the same way we'd done many times before, I pulled his hair and pulled him into a desperate kiss, his lips separating almost immediately for my tongue to access. As I lost myself in the kiss, Nathan decided that it was the right moment to strike, sliding his cock slowly into me until he was fully settled, causing me to leave trails of my nails on his back as I was caught off guard. The first thrusts were slow and careful, giving me time to adjust to his length inside of me. But once it was clear that I was ready, he started thrusting hard and fast, drawing moans and gasps until the sounds were nothing less than a harmony of pleasure echoing in the walls.
But when his pace started to slow I knew that he was about to pull out. Still, I never got over how empty it made me feel every time he did. He reached for his cock in order to jerk himself off, but I swatted his hand away and took it in my own, jerking and twisting it until he came all over my hand, creating a mess between our bodies with my name as a cry on his lips.
He slumped forwards and pulled me into his chest, completely ignoring the stickiness as he wrapped his arms around me and I couldn't find the energy to care about it either. As he held me close, I couldn't help but smile against his chest, the knowledge that we soon would belong to each other a wonderful bliss as I entered the lands of dreams.
