The Cursed Wolf’s Love

Is she my mate?

Iris screamed as her foot slipped, and she fell into the pool of water. Adolphus’ reflexes acted at the right time. He caught Iris by the waist, but he could not keep up with his balance, and they fell into the pool.

Iris’s lips landed on his and her eyes widened. She saw his pupils turning greener, which appeared strange to her.

Adolphus kept his hold tight on Iris and they went out of the water. Their feet touched the pool surface and they looked into each other’s eyes. The water reached her chest, while for Adolphus it was below the chest.

“Forgive me, Master,” Iris said and her eyelids flickered. “It was an accident. I didn’t want to do it,” she said with fear in her voice.

“You didn’t get hurt, right?” He inquired. His voice was gentle and full of concern.

“Master caught me at the right time. I am alright,” Iris said. He wiped the water from her cheeks from the back of his palm. She lowered her eyes and felt his hot breath fanning against her cheek.

Adolphus’s thumb stopped right beside her lip and he gazed at the water droplets resting on them. His desire to taste those plump lips suddenly rose. This woman had a dangerous effect on him. His entire body was on fire. He wanted to take her now. He was again excited thanks to the soft kiss she accidentally gave him.

Iris, on the other hand, felt her heart palpitating. This was the third time she got this feeling. She felt butterflies in her stomach, but she was still unable to understand whether it was because of the accidental kiss that she had with him or because of the way his fingers touched her cheek.

Iris didn’t hate that touch either. It was so gentle and filled with a different kind of emotion.

Love?

No! Adolphus could never love her. She was a human while he was an Alpha, the purest blood form in the Kingdom. How could she even get that thought?

She saw Adolphus leaning down and his nose touched the skin of her neck. Her fingers curled on his bare arms and her eyes shut.

‘What are you doing, Adolphus?’ his inner voice spoke. ‘You cannot do anything to her. Keep yourself in control.’

With that, he leaned back and let go of her.

“You may get sick. Go and change your clothes,” Adolphus said, and turned around.

Iris opened her eyes and looked at his back. She quickly got out of the pool.

“Take clothes from the cupboard. If you go out in this state, anyone may misunderstand,” Adolphus said and turned to look at her.

“Yes, Master.” Iris carefully got down the stairs and slid the door to get to the other side, where a cupboard was present. She slid the door to close it and checked the clothes in the cupboard.

“Master, these are your robes,” Iris said.

Adolphus saw her silhouette on the sliding door. “Cover yourself with the robe and go to your room to change into another attire. Wait for me in the dinette,” he said before settling at one side of the pool.

Iris took out a black satin robe and wore it around her. It reached her feet and she dashed to her room.

Adolphus heard the door shut and continued bathing.

“She is my death. I was turned on for a second,” Adolphus mumbled. “Is she my mate?” That was the only question that appeared in his head at that moment.

“How is that possible? She’s a human,” Adolphus removed that thought from his head quickly.

Iris was standing in the dinette, waiting for Adolphus to arrive. It had been an hour and he still didn’t come. She tapped her foot on the carpet beneath her when the door opened.

She turned to look and saw Adolphus in the white satin robes. Iris downcast her gaze and waited for him to take a seat.

After he settled on the chair, Iris served him dinner. She poured the water into a glass and placed it next to the platter on which she served him the food.

“Did you have your dinner?” Adolphus asked.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“After Master takes his meals, I will have dinner,” Iris replied.

“Let’s dine together. You don’t need to eat alone,” Adolphus said and gestured to her to sit on the chair. Iris hesitated a bit at first, but then she sat down.

Adolphus cut the slices of steak for Iris and put the plate in front of her. She looked into his eyes.

“Eat,” he said, and handed her the fork.

“But there is only one plate, Master.” Iris didn’t want to eat on the same plate again.

Adolphus stood up and dragged the chair toward her. He sat next to her, taking her by surprise.

“Iris, I love to eat with you on the same plate,” Adolphus said, and used the fork to pick the piece of steak. He ate that and found Iris had also begun eating.

“Your family didn’t give you the respect you deserved, Iris. I want you to enjoy all these things,” Adolphus said, and ate another piece.

“Thank you, Master.”

Adolphus smiled at her and placed his hand on top of her head. He caressed it gently, which fluttered her heart.

They had dinner in silence and Adolphus stood up to go to his bedchamber to rest.

“Iris, sleep with me tonight,” Adolphus said as he reached the door. He wanted to find out if she was really his mate. Just because of that curse, he could not get the scent. However, the way his body reacted whenever she was close to him made him question a lot of things.

Iris knitted her brows.

“Just sleep next to me as you did before. If only you are comfortable,” Adolphus asked.

She was a slave to him, but at the moment, he didn’t want to act like a master to her. He didn’t want to order her either, unlike he had done before.

“Sure, Master,” Iris said. Not because she was his slave, but for the warmth he gave her.
