Chapter Twenty Five

Alex

The moment I saw Tracy's brother I knew I was in big trouble, his eyes were spitting fire at me, before I

could even think of what to say at all he lunged at me punching me right in the face, I staggered falling

against my car but he didn't stop, he punched me continuously until I can taste my blood.

I know Cole is mad at me because of what happened with Tracy so I didn't try to defend or protect

myself, I could hear Tracy screaming at him to stop, but he didn't, he punched me till I dropped on the

floor, I was thankful when it was finally over, well I thought it was over until he grabbed my shirt again.

"You best stay away from my sister or I'd break your arms and legs." He threatened

"Cole, you can beat me up all you want, but then if you are threatening me with breaking my arms and

legs the. I guess I'd be disabled soon because I'm not leaving my wife and children, I'm fighting for

them till the very end." I said earning another punch.

"I'm going to teach you a lesson today." He said, he brought out his phone and called someone

"Come to my house, Tracy is in danger." He said and I frowned

"In danger?" I asked and he glared at me

"Yes in danger, you signed your death certificate by coming back." He pulled me up and he punched

me again.

A car drove in and parked so fast that I thought the driver was drunk, he got out of the car and rushed

to Tracy, it was Lewis, Tracy's eldest brother, it was then I understood what Cole meant by death

certificate because if I don't die today I'd be hospitalized for weeks.

"Tracy, are you okay? Why are you crying" He asked turning her around as if checking for injury?

"Lewis tell him to stop."

"Tell who to stop?"

"Cole, please Cole is going to kill him."

"Kill who?" Lewis asked and Tracy pointed, he turned to look at us and when his eyes met mine I knew

I was dead meat.

"Tiana, take Tracy inside." He said right before he came for me, the two brothers beat the daylight out

of me, the last thing I remember was Tracy yelling no as another punch from Lewis knocked me out.

I woke up later feeling pain all over me, I couldn't even move and I could barely keep my eyes open,

everything felt very painful, the only thing that felt good was the warm hand in my hand.

"Tracy?" I called, I barely heard myself but she heard me

"Alex? Alex are you awake?" She asked coming closer

"I'm not dead?"

"Alex, why didn't you leave there? Why did you let them beat up you like this?" She cried

"They won't let me see you if I had run Tracy, they won't let me see my kids too," I said and she cried

harder

"You should have done something, were you planning on making the kids fatherless?"

"Where are they? I hope they didn't see me getting beaten up?"

"Tiana sent them back inside the moment before Cole punched you."

"Oh, that's good then, what did the doctor say?."

"You have two broken ribs, a broken arm, and a lot of bumps and bruises, they almost shaved your

hair."

"My precious hair, they are lucky they didn't shave it."

"I would have sued them, my hair is too precious to be shaved," I said trying to move my hand to touch

my hair, I had to drop it back because of the pain, it was a lot of pain.

"I'm very sorry my brothers did that to you." She said bowing her head.

"I would have done the same so don't apologize, who on Earth gets a lady pregnant and leave her for

over 6 years, they were only trying to let me know it is not done that way if someone had done that to

my sister I would have done the same thing."

"Your sister?, You have a sister?"

"Yes an older sister, I'd tell you about her later, I'm feeling so sleepy right now," I said and she nodded

"Tracy?"

"Yes?"

"How many hours have I been here?"

"It has been over five hours, why?"

"I want to go home."

"Sleep now." She said and like a magic spell, I slept as she said.

I woke up the next day feeling worst than I did last night, my body ached and I hated the cast my hand

was in.

"Sit up if you are awake," Tracy said and shook my head slightly

"I can barely move ma'am," I said and she stood up helping me sit up.

"Thank you, baby."

"Stop being weird." She said sitting back down

"But you are my baby."

"Seriously stop it."

"What time is it?"

"It is past noon, you slept a lot."

"Oh."

"Tiana brought you porridge." She said as she unpacked the lunchbox I didn't notice earlier

"That's nice of her."

Tracy fed me the porridge carefully till I couldn't eat anymore, then she called for the doctor who came

to check up on me, the doctor was nice but I didn't like the fact that he told Tracy to stay outside.

"Who is that woman to you sir?"

"My wife," I replied proudly

"Oh, I see, she is a strong woman you see, this is the second time she'd be staying in this hospital in

two months."

"What?"

"The kids, her twin there was an accident and they were here for a while, thank God it was not critical,

wait are you not the father of her kids."

"I am."

"Oh, I guess you were not around. When I asked her for the kid's father for documentation purpose,

she started crying saying their father is not here, something like that, I thought their father was dead,

but then I guess not."

When the doctor left and Tracy came back inside I felt really bad, I couldn't even look her in the eyes, I

felt ashamed of myself.
