Chapter 1972
"Do you actually like BMWs?" Alaric asked seriously. He was buying a car for Hertha; it had to be something she liked.
"Yeah, of course, I do. Let's go check some out," Hertha said, taking the initiative and grabbing Alaric's hand as they moved forward. There was a BMW dealership nearby that Hertha often passed by, so she knew exactly where it was.
It wasn't that she was head-over-heels for BMWs; it was just that they offered good value for money, with prices starting in the tens of thousands, and they performed well too. Even if Hertha wanted to make Alaric pay through the nose, she wouldn't bleed him dry all at once, making him shell out millions. After all, she did have a conscience. Alaric had recently cut ties with the Falconer family, and who knew how much money he had in his pocket?
Upon arriving at the dealership, a salesperson greeted them enthusiastically. "Sir, ma'am, what kind of car are you interested in? I can help you find what you're looking for," the salesperson said, wanting to know their budget and the type of car they had in mind to make recommendations easier. Alaric, with his bold demeanor, said, "Show us the best car you've got."
"Right this way, please..." the salesperson quickly found direction, gesturing for Hertha and Alaric to follow. Hertha gave the salesperson an apologetic smile and said, "Sorry, we need a moment to discuss."Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
She pulled Alaric aside, lowering her voice, "You do know BMWs can be super expensive, right? The top models cost millions."
Alaric matter-of-factly replied, "Of course, buying a car means spending millions. What's the point otherwise?"
Hertha frowned, smacking Alaric
lightly on the head, "You think you're still that lavish rich kid? Real life isn't about showing off or luxury. Don't you get it?" Alaric rubbed the spot where she'd hit him, which was actually quite sore.
Truth be told, he didn't quite grasp what Hertha meant. Was there a necessary connection between life and competition? In his view, buying a car meant going for something expensive; otherwise, it wasn't worth driving.
Before Alaric could share his thoughts, Hertha had already returned to the salesperson, politely saying, "We're looking at something around $30,000. Can you show us cars in that price range?"
"Of course, ma'am, right this way," the salesperson remained as enthusiastic and polite as before.
Following the salesperson, Hertha
made her choice after half an hour, settling on a red BMW. Without insurance and extras, it came to
pleased, not just with the c
exactly $30,000. Hertha was
but
also with the model. Being a BMW, it had plenty of space, making it feel less claustrophobic.
"This is the one. Let's make the payment!" Hertha decided.
Seeing the price, Alaric thought it was a bit harsh on Hertha to only spend $30,000.
