The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 1962

Thalassa was gripped by fear, yet she dared not make any rash moves. After all, Lysander had made it clear: this was not her battle to fight. Moreover, she was at a loss on how to aid Lysander, leaving her no choice but to step back.

As seconds ticked by, Thalassa watched Lysander crouched on the ground, his face twisted in pain, unable to move. Her heart tightened with each passing moment.

Unable to stand by any longer, she was about to step forward to help Lysander when she saw him push against the ground, slowly rising to his feet.

Lysander's leg, just like the day before, was temporarily in pain, preventing him from standing. But as the sharp pain subsided, he was back to normal.

Lysander walked over to Thalassa, who was looking up at him with tears in her eyes, those bright, clear eyes full of sorrow and worry.

Lysander reached out, gently ruffling her hair with a deep, soothing voice, still hoarse from the pain, "It's okay, don't worry."

"Are you sure? Maybe we should call Lydia or Dr. Funke. He's got a lot of experience."

Thalassa couldn't shake her concern. Yesterday's worries were now magnified by seeing Lysander in such agony, her heart was in knots.

"It's fine, I know my own body." Lysander continued to reassure Thalassa.

He believed that even if Lydia or Dr. Funke were to come, it wouldn't make a difference. His leg's paralysis wasn't due to any physiological issue but a psychological one.

His sudden recovery was spurred by Callum's provocation, the emotional and physical pain somehow triggering his nerves to function, allowing him to stand.

Hence, he reasoned, full recovery would ultimately depend on himself.

"But..." Thalassa was still worried.

"Hey, it's all good. Can you walk? If we don't head to the registry office soon, they'll be closed." Lysander changed the subject, not wanting Thalassa to fret.

"Okay, let's go to the registry office." Thalassa stood up, wiping away her tears, feeling a twinge in her foot as she walked.

She went to the wardrobe to pick out a set of clothes she liked and was about to head to the dressing room to change when a thought suddenly struck her.

Turning back to Lysander, she asked, "My household register is in Hollowbrook. Do we have time to fetch it?"

Lysander glanced at her limping foot, then tenderly met her gaze, "Going to Hollowbrook and back, we'd miss the registry office's closing time. How about we wait? Once your foot is better, there's no rush."

Thalassa felt a pang of disappointment. They had been so close to officially becoming husband and wife today.

But considering Lysander's difficulty in standing just moments ago, she was more concerned about his health.

She agreed to his suggestion, "Alright, we'll go get married later. But you really should have a doctor check your leg." "Let's see how it goes in a few days." Lysander suggested.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Okay." Thalassa agreed.

"Then I'm off to the office. Can you manage on your own at home?" Lysander glanced at his watch. There was still time to make it to a meeting.

"Of course, I be fine. Just make

sure you get some rest too, balance work with relaxation." Thalassa was worried about leaving Lysander, wishing she could stay by his side but knowing she'd only be a burden.

His focus would be split between work and caring for her.

Without her there, he could concentrate on his work.

"Got it." Lysander ruffled Thalassa's hair again, helped her back to the bed, and instructed, "You need to rest that foot, no wandering around. I'll have the housekeeper bring you something to eat."

Nodding obediently, Thalassa watched as Lysander finally left the room.
