CHAPTER 40

After a few minutes they arrived at the place where Aliyah is staying.

When the car stopped Aliyah opened the car door immediately and stepped outside to get the stuff she

bought at the grocery which is at the backseat of Atif's car.

But as quick as the wind, Atif already gets it before she can touch the grocery's bags.

Atif volunteers to help her carry those bags going up to her unit.

Because Atif was already holding those stuff Aliyah let him carry it.

Aliyah knew that she could not stop Atif from doing so.

Aliyah knew that Atif wanted to help her because he wants to know where she is staying.

They arrived at the room where Aliyah is renting.

Atif put down the grocery's bags.

To thank Atif as well as to annoy him Aliyah decided to offer him a cup of tea.

Aliyah remembers that Atif didn't like the taste of tea. She knew that Atif didn't want to drink tea. Atif

mentioned that to her when they were chatting when they talked about their favorite foods.

She wants to annoy Atif so that he won't go back to her place.

Aliyah wants to see Atif but she wants to keep distance from Atif because she is afraid that one day Atif

will discover that she is also Haya and Aliyah if he will always come around here in her place.

She doesn't want Atif to discover her secret because she is not ready to face his questions: why did

she go away a long time ago; why did she have to leave him before and end their friendship.

Aliyah decided to annoy Atif so that he will go away and keep distance from her.

Aliyah does her first move. She talk to Atif;

"Thanks for volunteering to drive me home and carrying those bags. Please take your seat. I will just

make a cup of drinks." Aliyah said with a smile on her face.

"My pleasure. You're welcome. Thank you." Atif said as he sat down on a coach near the window.

From the window of Amaya's room he can see the perfume factory owned by his grandfather Harris. It

is located on the opposite side a few meters away from the apartment.

Atif smiled because it means he can visit Amaya often for the next few days even though he is busy

managing the factory.

Atif didn't notice that Aliyah was looking at him while making a cup of tea. She is planning what she will

do to annoy Atif so that he won't come back to her place. The bad side of her personality is manifesting

that's why Aliyah is acting like that. It doesn't want to get close to Atif while the other side of her

personality wants to see Atif and talk to him. Her personality begins splitting again as well as her

emotions. As always the bad side wins when her psychological disorder is manifesting.

Aliyah is finished making two cups of tea. She carries it to where Atif is sitting. She stand in front of Atif

then she asked Atif this question;

"Coffee or Tea?" Aliyah asked.

"Coffee." Atif said.

"You're wrong it's tea." Aliyah said and then she gave the cup of tea to Atif.

Aliyah sees the hesitation on his face to accept the cup of tea. And Aliyah knew what the reason was.

Aliyah smiled triumphantly.

Even though Atif doesn't like to drink tea he just accepts the cup of tea that Amaya is offering. He

doesn't want Amaya to get offended.

"Thanks Amaya. But I thought I could choose between coffee and tea." Atif said then he smiled at

Aliyah.

Aliyah laughed.

"I didn’t say you have to choose between coffee and tea. I asked you to guess what is inside the cup.

Your guess was wrong. It's not coffee. It's tea." Aliyah said.

"Okay." Atif said.

"Why don't you drink that cup of tea so that you can leave now?" Aliyah said.

Atif doesn't know what to say this time. He is wondering what kind of attitude this lady has.

Her attitude is somewhat rude

Atif tried to drink the tea but he couldn't drink it. He doesn't like the taste of tea, especially this green

tea.

He just pretends that it's still hot, that's why he can't drink it.

Atif smiled at Amaya when he noticed that Amaya was staring at him as if she was expecting that she

would drink the tea.

So even though Atif doesn't like the taste of it he forced himself to drink it all. He admits to himself that

doing it is a little bit annoying.

Doing what he don't want makes him really annoy but he knew that he was to blame because he

insisted to know this lady. In Fact she never invites him to come to her place he just volunteer to go

with her.

Atif got this feeling that Amaya intentionally served him the drinks that he doesn't like to taste to annoy

him but he can't prove it because he knew that this is the first time that they meet each other. He is so

sure that Amaya doesn't know that he hates drinking green tea.

Because of that Atif thinks that maybe he is just imagining things or just becoming judge mental.

When Aliyah sees that Atif drinks the tea she smiles as sweetly as she can and asks Atif this question.

“Do you like the taste?" Aliyah asked even though she already knew the answer just to annoy Atif

more.

Aliyah knew that Atif got annoyed at her.

Atif just laughed softly when he heard the question of Amaya because he didn't want to say no. He

didn't want to offend her even though he felt slightly annoyed by her.

When Atif saw Amaya smile he felt that he saw the same smile but he can't recall the person with that

kind of smile as Amaya.

After a few minutes Atif decided to leave.

Aliyah accompany him until he reached his car.

Atif is about to get inside his car when he hears Amaya talk.

"Are you coming back?" Aliyah asked just to know if Atif will still come back here so that she can avoid

him or hide herself from him when he comes back.

Atif turn around, smile and said;

"I don't know Amaya. I will be very busy for sure in the next few days. I just got a little free time this

evening. Honestly my grandfather is waiting for me now. I will accompany him on a business trip this

evening. I just came intentionally to the city downtown around the fast food and up to the footbridge

even just for a while." Atif answered.

"Why?" Aliyah asked.

Aliya notices Atif looking far away before he answers in a soft voice. As if he is just talking to himself

and not to her

"Because I still can't let her memory go. I'm still hoping, waiting for her to come to that place just like

before. So whenever I find free time I go to that place. Even though I knew that it is too impossible to

see her again. She is gone a long time ago." Atif said.

“Who is she?" Aliyah asked.

"Her name is Haya. But never mind. Just forget what I've said. I'll go now. See you around." Atif said

while getting inside his car.

Aliyah just can't believe what she heard from Atif.

Aliyah doesn't know what to say.

She heard Atif started the engine of his car. He is about to leave.

Atif waves his hand to Amaya to indicate that he is about to leave, then he drives away.

Atif noticed that Amaya can't move from where she is standing and didn't say anything when she heard
