Chapter 569
Chapter 569
Allison said, “Let’s eat. After we eat, I can head home on my own. You go do your thing, and don’t
worry about me.”
A series of knocks echoed through the room.
Emma made her way to the door, expecting to see Paige, who’d mentioned she might
swing by for a bite. But as the door swung open, she was taken aback to find Mr. Sears’ assistant,
Miguel, standing before her. Miguel, in his early thirties, with spectacles perched on his nose, was soft
and gentle. He inquired, “Emma, is Allison here?”
Emma, a bit perplexed, replied, “Miguel, what’s up?”
Miguel explained, “Mr. Sears and I saw the lights on and figured she must still be here. He’s looking to
have a chat with her about some things.”
“Can it wait till morning?” Emma suggested. “We’re just about to dig into dinner and then head out.”
But Miguel persisted, “It’s about that whole online buzz these past few days. Mr. Sears is concerned,
you understand. We need to put a pin in it once and for all. Don’t let the rumors get out of hand.”
Emma stayed silent for a moment, knowing he had a point. She turned to look at Allison. “Allison,
Miguel’s here to see you.”
“Emma, you go ahead. I’ll drop by Mr. Sears’ office,” Allison said, following Miguel out the door.
As Emma packed up, she couldn’t help but worry for Allison. She made another backup of the video on
her laptop, turned off the lights, and headed downstairs. Despite Allison’s insistence, Emma couldn’t
leave just yet. She decided to wait in the car and texted Allison, “I’m in the parking lot waiting for you.
Contact me immediately if anything comes up.”
Hudson Sears, the deputy CEO of Epic Entertainment, had his hands full overseeing business
resources.
Upon reaching Hudson’s office, Miguel knocked and ushered Allison in. “Mr. Sears, Miss Allison is
here.”
Hudson, seated at his desk, looked up with a welcoming smile. “Allison, come on over, have a seat.

now.”
Allison dressed down after a day of shooting in a simple hoodie and sweatpants. Her perfect skin was
glowing naturally in the soft office light, which was a picture of understated elegance.
She was puzzled. Why Hudson had called her over? During her time at the company, she’d seldom
interacted with the top leaders. She mostly kept in touch with her agent Patty. Besides Mr. Vincent, who
ran the show, there was Hudson, Kenneth handling film and TV resources, and Mr. Landry overseeing
business.
As Hudson warmly gestured for Allison to take a seat on the couch, he said to Miguel, “You can leave
us. I’d like a private word with Allison, no interruptions.”
Immediately, Miguel excused himself.
Allison glanced at her phone and saw Emma’s message. Her brow furrowed slightly with caution. “Mr.
Sears, what’s this about? My agent is waiting for me.”
“Your agent, Patty?”
“No, my assistant agent, Emma.”
Upon hearing this, Hudson relaxed. Patty was someone to be reckoned with, but a mere assistant
agent didn’t weigh much in his consideration. His smile broadened as he sat closer to Allison. His thigh
brushed against hers unintentionally. “Allison, you’ve been causing quite the stir lately, haven’t you?”
