The Billionaire’s Bargain Bride

Chapter 16

Bad Dream and a Kiss

SADIE

“Your husband—” I jerked inside the fitting room, my hand on my chest. My heart was in my throat. Shivers ran down my spine as I watched my brother in the mirror standing behind me.

“How the hell did you get in here, Jasper?” I turned around to face him, stepping back. At least if he would think of doing something, he couldn’t do it from behind.

“He’s going to ruin this family, sis. He’s going to destroy the Greer legacy.” With a calculated pace, he took steps closer to me. “You should do something. Tell me about his plan.”

I clutched the garments in my hand against my chest. “Back off, Jasper.”

“You will spy on him, Sadie. He trusts you.”

“I’m afraid your judgment is wrong. Cenric doesn’t trust me.”

With his eyes bloodshot wide, he hovered and gripped my arms that I knew would leave marks. “If you, as much as enjoy your life outside, you will do as I say, or you will go back to where you truly belong, in that four corners of your room. Do you understand me?”

“You’ve lost your freaking mind, Jasper. If you think you can manipulate me again, you’re wrong. You’re not in control of my life anymore, you and Dad. My loyalty remains to my husband, and I won’t betray him. Ever.”

He lifted his hand and hit me—

“No!” I jolted up. My heart pounded so hard that I could barely catch my breath. I was sweating, and my hair was sticking all over my face.

“Bad dream?” I raised my head to Cenric’s voice. Based on the expression on his face, he wasn’t impressed, as if he had just read what was in my head. He knew what that dream was all about.

I nodded and laid back on his thigh. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize.” He rubbed my arm. The beating of my heart started to go back to normal, but I couldn’t shake that dream off anymore. “Can I get you something to drink? You need to hydrate.”

“Dr. Wollf.”

“I’m serious, Sadie. You’re starting to have a bad dream.”

I raised my hand. “Please, don’t tell me you just diagnose me and advise me to see a shrink.”

“We can go together.”

“You go alone. Not interested. And I’m fine.”

“Stubborn. Hungry?”

“I think I could use something light. What time is it? How long did I pass out?” I sat straight on the couch and wiped off my sweat with the knit throws.

“Two hours.” He rose to his feet. “Stay.”

“Sit. Eat. Drink. Fetch. Come on, doggy.” I shook as I tried to laugh in silence before I pissed him off than he already was.

“I’m gonna spank your pretty little ass,” he said before he walked to the kitchen.

“I know you like my ass!” I yelled out.

“No doubt!”

He came back after a few minutes with a plate of loco moco and a glass of wine.

“Aw. Did you cook this?” Like I just unwrapped my gift, I delightfully took it from him. “Thanks.”Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Linden mostly. All I did was plating.”

“How did you know I like this?” I started eating. “How about you? Let’s share.”

“I joined the guys earlier. I asked your friend.”

I noticed a bouquet of mixed roses. “Pretty.”

“That’s yours.” He picked it up and offered it to me.

“Who sent it?” I smelled, and it was divine. “Oh, there’s a card.” I picked it up and read the familiar penmanship. “Mi Cielo, I wish I was there for you. I won’t fail you again. C. Touche.”

“I should have been there.”

“You are my Cielo.” I looked at him. He looked yummy and homey. “Thanks.” I kissed him. “You’re the best.”

“Now, eat.”

“Woof. Woof.”

He laughed and went back to the kitchen. I was halfway with my Loco Moco when he came back with a massive bowl of popcorn.

“Let’s watch sci-fi or fantasy.”

“Really? No rom-com?”

“Yeah. Why do you sound so surprised?”

I rose from my seat once I was done eating. “You choose the movie.” I went up to use the bathroom.

He cleaned up the coffee table and left the wine with the popcorn when I came back.

“Are you sure you have nothing to do?”

“Sadie, please? Let’s watch.” He put an arm around me, pulling me closer to him. The warmth of his body alone was already soothing.

I could stay in this position throughout the night.

“Are we allowed to make out?” I joked.

He replied with a deep rumble of growl in his chest.

“I take that as a yes.” What I got in return was a pinch on my chin.

The movie started rolling. He chose Interstellar.

“That’s tragic.”

He groaned, “Shush. No spoiler, please?”

“You haven’t watched this movie?”

He looked down at me. “On the other hand, maybe we will just make out.”

A smile formed on my lips. “Let’s watch then.” I leaned against him when Cooper told his daughter that he would be going on a mission.

“Will you let me go on a suicide mission to save the earth?” I was surprised that he asked me.

“No.”

“Why? I would come home a hero, and I saved the earth.”

I met his gaze. “You just told me that’s a suicide mission. There are many astronauts, why you? And besides, you’ve done your service to your country. So no. Let them save the planet they ruined. I’m sure if I ever had contributed to global warming, it’s only 0. 0000003 percent. So, no suicide mission. I still need my husband.”

He sighed deeply. Whatever was it, it didn’t matter. I was being honest. I was not ready to be a widow at twenty-one.

“Noted.” He kissed the top of my head.

“You’re not planning for a suicide mission, are you? Not saving the earth kind of mission, Wollf?”

He forced me to meet his gaze. “You won’t lose me if that’s what you’re afraid about. I won’t promise that I can’t keep because accidents happen, but I make sure to come back home every night for you.”

“We’ll kiss now.”

He smiled and granted my wish. When our lips met, he groaned from deep within his chest. He began taking my mouth, dueling his tongue against mine. He tasted good, addicting.

I let my hands snake around his neck, slipping my fingers through his thick hair. His hands landed on my ass, squeezing my cheeks, lifting me.

I followed his cues, straddling on his lap. I always felt horny when I was on my period. This time, it was different. I enjoyed our kiss, and I was burning up, heavily aroused. Hormone or not, and it was because Cenric rocked his sizable erection against my very core. I was sure the moan I just heard wasn’t from him—it came from me as I threw my head back, breaking our kiss.

A moan slipped through me freely as his hand moved up my chest, kneading my breast, pinching my already sensitive and sore nipple. His mouth traveled down my neck. His lips firmed, sucking, nibbling, and licking my sensitive skin while his hands did more squeezing and exploring my body.

“Babe, we have to stop.” His voice was rough, and I could bet my twenty. His body disagreed with his words.

Is he serious?

I blinked a couple of times, allowing myself to absorb the shock of what I had just heard since my mind was in turmoil with unsated lust. My body froze from burning just seconds ago.

“Whatever,” I muttered as I slipped away from him.

“God knows—”

“Don’t include God in this conversation. And save your damn speech.” My frustration was rising, my chest caving, not to mention my discomfort at having a constant ache between my thighs.

“Okay.” He raised his hand in surrender. “I’ll make it up—”

“Don’t ever say a word, or I will punch you in the nose.”

“Calm down.” He held my arm.

I swatted it off. “Don’t touch me. Off. Off. I have enough embarrassment that could last a lifetime. Maybe you think now, I was so horny, all I could think is jump your bones.”

“Oh, you will,” he replied with confidence, “and I will until you’re sore. You can’t get out of bed after your period.”

“I didn’t have when we were in Jamaica. So, just stop talking already.”

“Now I felt like you just married my body.” His lips quirked up in a slightly evil grin.

“Like I had a choice.”

“Now, come back.” He gestured his hand. “I want you in my arms.”

“No. No more cuddling, you freaking tease.”
