The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 990

The moment Graham entered the hospital room, skepticism clouded his thoughts. It seemed too convenient for the Lynettes to claim innocence, to skirt the wrath of the Tanners. But as Yuri, with empathetic eyes, presented a stack of medical files, Graham's doubts began to waver.

"Mr. Tanner," Yuri started, his voice carrying the weight of a father guarding his wounded cub, "it's true. Brittany has amnesia. The head injury from the assault, followed by surgery... there's been pressure on her brain nerves. She remembers nothing."

Graham, though reluctant, pored over the documents: hospital admissions, surgery notes, recovery updates, and detailed reports. They told the story of Brittany's fight for life, a story that, despite his reservations, Graham couldn't ignore.

Yuri's voice softened, a rare display of vulnerability. "Mr. Tanner, I understand your grief, but as her father, I couldn't bear having Brittany learn of her husband's passing while she's fighting for her own life." Yuri devoted all the gentleness he possessed in his life to Julie and Brittany. This was the first time he let go of his pride, saying, "Mr. Tanner, please understand me."

After reviewing all the documents, Graham could tell that Yuri was indeed telling the truth. The evidence was undeniable. The CCTVs had caught the brutal attack, showing the swing of the metal pipe against Brittany's skull. The fact that she was alive at all was nothing short of a miracle.

Closing the file, Graham's voice was steady. "All I ask is that she attends Zac's funeral. He was good to her; she should be there."

"I'll make sure she's there," Yuri assured him, his fatherly pragmatism still intact.

"And the child?" Graham knew of the boy, Zac's legacy. He had to take him back to Imperial City.

"That child is my grandson. He will be the heir to the Lynette family. He will have a good future staying with us," Yuri asserted, unwilling to relinquish the boy.

Graham shook his head decisively. "He's Zac's only kin left. He belongs in Imperial City."

"Mr. Tanner, he is also my daughter's child..."

"Your daughter is still alive. Won't she start a new life?" Graham refused to concede. "She still has a promising future ahead of her. I don't expect her to remain single forever, but I hope to continue Zac's lineage with us."

"But there's no one from the Salter family who can take care of him."

"Noel is now the mainstay of Grandeur Capital. If Daniel returns to Imperial City, who will look after him?" Yuri played his final card. "If he stays in Craneville, I will ensure he is well cared for. Bri is also his biological mother. Do you think she would mistreat him?"

Graham was at a loss for words.

Indeed, once Daniel returned to Imperial City, he would need to live with Noel. However, Noel was busy with work, and other members of the Salter family were unlikely to genuinely care for Daniel. By then, if Daniel was unhappy...

But Brittany had amnesia. How could she possibly accept that she had a six-year-old son?

Yuri seemed to grasp Graham's doubts and spoke in a softer tone. "Mr. Tanner, I understand your concern for Daniel. I am not without reason. Daniel can consider the Tanner Mansion as his second home, where he can stay for one to two months each year. If Noel wishes to see him, he is welcomed to visit us any time, and Daniel can also make brief visits to Imperial City."

Graham wavered. The offer had merit.

"He is my only grandson. I really cannot allow him to leave Craneville. I promise to take good care of him and ensure he never experiences any hardships."

After Yuri finished speaking, Graham sighed and said, "Let me meet him."

He wanted to know what Daniel wants.

"Sure."

Soon after, Graham followed Yuri to Brittany's hospital room.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

Brittany lay in bed, covered in tubes. When she saw Yuri, she smiled and called out, "Dad."

"Bri." Yuri hurried over, taking her hand. "Are you feeling uncomfortable today?"

"Yeah, it hurts."

Yuri felt for his daughter. "I asked the doctor, they'll remove the tubes tomorrow. Can you hold on a bit longer?"

Brittany nodded, then glanced at Graham with curiosity. "Dad, who is this? Is he here to visit me?"

"Yes, he's Graham."

Brittany softly said "Graham," her smile pure and genuine.

Graham remembered the girl in the photos, once vibrant and full. Now, her features were sharpened by ordeal, her frame diminished. The image from the CCTV footage flashed before his eyes, and he felt an unexpected surge of compassion.

"How are you feeling?" he asked gently.
