Chapter 1005
The elevator arrived, and as the doors slid open, Brittany caught sight of the man standing inside.
It was the man from that night.
With a snap, Brittany ended her call and squeezed into the elevator. "It's you!"
The man looked even more handsome than he had that night.
"What's your name?"
Isaac stared into her face, those eyes penetrating. "You don't remember me?"
Brittany frowned. "Do we know each other?"
Isaac chuckled softly. "Not really."
Before Brittany could say more, the elevator doors opened, and Isaac quickly stepped out.
Brittany was about to follow when her phone rang again.
"Bri, where are you?" It was Holden.
"I'm at the customer service department."
...
Isaac headed straight to the penthouse and pushed open a door.
Elijah was already there. "You made it."
"Yeah."
Isaac hadn't expected to survive his recent ordeal, let alone run into Elijah.
"Seen Brittany yet?"
"Yeah, I did."
After waking up and spending months bedridden with repeated infections and fevers, Isaac had barely clung to life. The moment he was well enough, he eagerly went to find Brittany, only to be caught in an accident that nearly cost him his life.
"I told you she's got amnesia. Why bother approaching her?"
Elijah laughed softly. Brittany's amnesia was beyond everyone's expectations.
"She might have forgotten, but she's still my wife."
"I doubt the Lynette family will accept you easily," Elijah said gravely. "hear a lot of folks are looking to ally with the Lynettes through marriage. Now that Grandeur Capital is firmly under Noel Salter's grip, what are your odds?"
Noel was ruthless, solidifying his top position swiftly and eliminating any competition from the Salter family's distant relatives.
"That's my business."
"Just remember, we're in this together now." Elijah poured Isaac a cup of coffee. "You want Brittany back, and I want the Ulbricht family back on top."
Taking the coffee, Isaac nodded. "I know what I have to do."
After Isaac left, Elijah called Estelle Ulbricht. "Pregnant?"
"Yes, three months."
In the past six months, Dominic Hartman and Ivy had their wedding, and she was now with Dominic. After the celebration, Ivy went abroad on a charity tour and hadn't returned.
"Did the Hartman family say anything?"
"They are quite pleased, and Dominic treats me well." Estelle was aware of the rumors, often casting her as a negative example of an independent woman.
"I'll visit soon. Take care of yourself. By the way, how is your relationship with Brittany?"
Unaware of Elijah's acquaintance with Brittany, Estelle replied, "Great. I'm meeting Bri for tea this afternoon."
"Enjoy yourselves."
After hanging up, Estelle took a nap. When she woke up, Dominic was sitting beside her, papers in hand. He looked up as she stirred. "Awake? How's the baby?"
"Fine."
"My mom wants us to visit this weekend," Dominic said as he set aside the papers and drew her close, kissing her cheek. "She misses you."Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Estelle was reluctant to visit the Hartman family. "Can we skip it?"
"Eventually, we'll have to go."
Dominic kissed her tenderly. "I've et
discussed it with Ivy. Once Ivy returns, we'll divorce, and then we can register our marriage."
"You and Ivy are divorcing?"
Could the royal family agree? Would the Hartman family agree?
