The Billionaire 1&2

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

AMBER is in the kitchen drinking water when she heard voices inside the house. She is afraid but she

mastered her courage to move out from the kitchen and went to the living room, where the noises

came from. Even if Nana Mildred said that the village is safe, she still can’t calm down.

Nana Mildred is the head of the housemaid of the Anderson family, she’s the one who took care of

Rafael when he is a still a kid. She meet her earlier this evening when she woke up from her sleep.

According to her, the other maids were on a day-off that is why there is no one who welcomed them

when they arrived that afternoon.

“Who’s there?” She bravely shouted, but no one is in the living room.

“Who are you?” A baritone voice asked from the stairs. She was stunned to see who it was. “S-sir

Gabriel…” He is one of the owners of the bar she used to work at, and he’s the one who hired her.

“Hey, Gab! A little help here.” She heard another baritone voice upstairs and was again stunned to see

Joshua, another owner of the bar, struggling to support Rafael.

“What happened to him?” She asked Gabriel, referring to Rafael.

“He’s just drunk.” Gabriel answered and went up the stairs to help Joshua. She followed them until they

lay Rafael unto his bed.

“You dimwit!” Gabriel cursed at Rafael. “I should be the one being drunk today not you!” He sighed.

“You should be grateful to us, Rafa, we can just leave you all alone there!” Joshua said. “Oh, look who’s

here.” Joshua said when he looked at her. “It’s nice to see you again, Miss Santiago or should I say

soon-to-be Mrs. Anderson.” He said while smiling but that smile didn’t reach his eyes. “I don’t know

what you are scheming but don’t think of doing something bad to Rafael’s child. Take good care of the

baby inside of you.” Joshua threatened.

“Judge Marquez will tomorrow afternoon so that Rafael can rest.” Gabriel said. “You should also take a

rest. We will be the ones to lock the door and gate.” He said and they left them.

Amber approach Rafael to remove his shoes, then she went to the kitchen. She comes back with a

towel and warm water. She slowly unbuttons Rafael’s polo but he’s resisting her.

“S-stop! I’m getting married tomorrow!” He said and shoving her away. Amber was shocked by his

action but she patiently continued unbuttoning his polo even though he’s shoving her many times.

She sighed in relief when she finished wiping him and put his clothes on him. Rafael’s been saying her

name countless of times making her heart beats fast. She sighed for the nth time, she glances at Rafa,

who is sleeping soundly.

Amber is in a deep slumber but was awakened by her phone ringing. She doesn’t want to answer it but

the caller is Kaylee.

“Hey, how are you?” Kaylee asked from the other line.

“I’m fine.” She answered, her eyes still shut closed. “But you called so early.” She grunted.

“Early?” Kaylee asked in confusion. “It’s already ten in the morning, my friend.” Kaylee giggled.

“Hmm? Ten?” She suddenly opened her eyes and checked the time.

“Oh, great!” She sighed and stood up from the soft bed. She suddenly missed her room at the rest

house her parents gifted her.

“Amber? Are you still there?” Kaylee asked, she put the phone in loudspeaker since she placed it on

the bedside table.

“Ah, yeah. Sorry.” She answered. “Are you free to talk now? I’ll just visit you during your day-off.” She

asked, worried that Antonette might pick on Kaylee.

“Yep, it’s my free time!” Kaylee said in joy. “There are rumors going around here that you’re not going to

come to work anymore, that is why I am calling you to confirm. But it seems that there is no need.” She

said. “I will miss you here.” Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

“I will miss you, too.” She said, sad that she will not see her friend for a while. “Let’s just hang out when

you’re available. You should go back to your shift, or else maám Antonette will pick on you.”

“This Saturday, let’s go hang-out, I am excited to bug you about your pregnancy and to think that it is

Sir Rafael…” She teased.

“Stop it, Kaylee.” She warned making the latter laugh.

“And by the way, Ma’am Antonette is not working here anymore. Sir Rafael fired her yesterday, that us

why the fifteen minutes break of the staff is implemented. And everyone is now working harmoniously.”

Kaylee said. “And right now, a friend of Sir Rafael is filling in the manager position for a while.”

“Is that so, then that’s great. The good working environment will improve the work of the staff.” She

said. “Uhm, do you have any idea why Raf—Sir Rafael fired Ma’am Antonette?”

“I don’t know the exact reason but it has something to do with Ma’am Antonette kicking your stomach

yesterday.” Kaylee answered. “Sir Rafael is now aware of how she manages the restaurant and the

employees. And L—Sir Lohan, the one who is acting as a manager for a while witnessed how

Antonette maltreated the employees that is why she’s fired immediately and Sir Rafael didn’t give her a

recommendation.” Kaylee explained. “I’ll see you on Saturday, friend. We have a full house today, and

the staff needs a hand.”

“Okay. See you.” They bid their goodbyes before ending the call.

She is lucky to have a friend like Kaylee; the first time they meet each other, she can’t believe that

she’s a waitress. Kaylee has a fair skin and her hands are smooth and you can immediately know that

she’s not used doing chores. Almost all of her things are branded that made her suspect that Kaylee is

hiding something but she didn’t ask anyway because she, herself is hiding something.
